American Cars Featured in Latest GT5 Time & Drift Trials

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo, featuring American muscle, among them being the Dodge Viper, and while this week’s challenges doesn’t offer the usual amount of variety associated with the weekly events, the rewards should more than make up for that.

Am I the only one who noticed hacked Vipers in the time trial or you just dont want to talk about that… just rly poor… poor GT5 community

Does anybody know if they have use Nascars and Forumla Gran Turismos at Daytona and Indy?

I have always wanted to see those road course killers(Congrats, you guys drive great) eat their way to the top of Daytona with a Nascar. I think that this would put a little switch on the leaderboards and also it would cool.(To some maybe not). I would love to see the Formula Gran Turismo to make an appearance at Indy Superspeedway, perhaps Motegi Speedway.

It would be perfectly themed for those cars!

I wonder if PD may be setting us up for an announcement that they will include the new Viper in GT6? That would be great news!

    1. DaSixSixOne

You are correct. I checked the master GT6 list and saw no Dodge entries before I posted. I forgot they dropped the Dodge name and now only call it SRT Viper.

thanks to PD for fixing the drift trials its awesome to be able to watch the top 10 replays again :)

Hopefully GT6 will contain some Salen models as well as the Laguna Seca Mustang, Caddliac CTS-V and Viper.
That way we don’t have to put up with “harystig” pieces of junk crap. USA…..USA……USA.

    1. mr_pepps

Ha! Yeah what he said. Spell manufacturer poorly here and you are toast my friend.

I still have no idea what you’re saying though.

    2. mistersafeway

He said he wanted Saleens, the Laguna Seca Mustang (a special edition?) and the Cadillac CTS-V, so hairystig wouldn’t “talk crap” about American cars. Not that hard to understand really…

  6. Ajam

Yawn :/ yet another drift seasonal which the majority of people will use a front wheel drive car for. I suppose a congratulations is in order for those people though, well done :) :D you know how to use a handbrake im so proud.
I just hope GT6 is abit more strict with the regs if they carry on doing seasonal events

    1. Pit Crew

Yeah…if you actually tried the event you would see that, FR MR & RR drivetrains are the only ones allowed.

  7. Pvig73

I hardly post but we’ve had another FWD set of races last week and now another American car event in a short space of time.

Can we have a bit more variety please??

  8. hairystig

I hate yank cars, if I wanted to drive yank pieces of junk i’d play fm4, this is gt5 give me Japanese cars please!

    1. Tvensky

sometimes you can drive cars just for the looks and not performance…

and give other people a choice, you sound like a kid talking like this…

    2. TomBrady

You realize Dodge Vipers aren’t built in the north therefore it’s not a Yank car? Yanks are only in the north derp

    3. playnthru

Do you know ‘yankee’ was the name the Dutch gave to the English???

I guess you don’t even realize who the yank is? YANKEE! :)

So blast off yankee!!! And keep your British piles of crap in Britain *wink wink*

      ”Yank pieces of junk”

Oh wow!! That ”yank piece of junk” was one of the fastest cars around the Nurburgring.

If you are a true car enthusiast, you would not generalise cars by the nationality of the manufacturer.

Besides, the Americans can make amazing cars, just look at the ZR1 and it’s Nurburgring lap time.

I hate to say it but name me one Aston that is faster than the Viper acr or the ZR1 around the Nurburgring.

If you are a true car enthusiast you shouldn’t be generalising cars by their nationality LOL.

      PS: I’m British BTW.

1:53 in a not, so commonly used, 600pp a ’06 SRT/10. Later, I’ll see if I can dest that time with the ’99 GTS.

    1. Pit Crew

Why are you looking for GT6 in July, if everyone who is actually paying attention to all the info on said game is expecting it between November or December? Let’s keep up now…

  9. Jared93

Interesting challenge. Might as well break in a a viper/brush up on my tuning while I’m at it. lol

    1. SavageEvil

That is not the Competition Coupe, that is the GTS-R Concept. Look them both up, the concept is a much sexier looking car by far.

  10. Conza

Not hard, am a bit disappointed there’s only 1, would’ve been good to do a mordern vs. older Viper trial, just to see the improvement on performance over the years, should easily be able to get under a second of the 1:54 asking time, that was on a fully hotted up Viper ’00 Concept though.

  11. RacingOtaku86

Let’s see how long this lasts until someone effs it up by using an illegal Viper. Just saying.

    1. Pit Crew

All TTs are forced SRF. Always have been. Remember, Race seasonals and TT seasonal are 2 different things, plus race seasonal events from 2011 to December 2012 didn’t force SRF. Play those.

    2. TomBrady

Yea because time trials are a measure of skill, not a measure of who can abuse a ridiculously stupid driver aid like SRF. Nobody should enjoy that. If you enjoy SRF then go play NFS.

PD never should’ve included that piece of crap driver aid. It’s worse than TCS

    3. EeePee

I didn’t remember. I just turn off TCS soon as the race or TT starts with the R/A Menu. It didn’t matter to me after a while. Cheers.

    4. ScotteDawg

Not that I use SRF but there are people who do! These people are called “noobs”! I was once a noob and SRF was used… Not any more!!!
It should be in the game to help train people to become better drivers. Once they take SRF off, they will learn to handle the car EVEN BETTER!
You can’t expect a noob to become a good driver without a little help along the way. Making SRF optional means they can turn it off when they get comfortable with driving experience!
Anyhow, SRF IS in the game, so deal with it! If you’re too lazy to turn it off, that’s YOUR problem, not PD’s! Mind you, it is an option that should be in the main menu so that you can turn it off once and never have to worry about it again – unless you REALLY want to!
Whilst on the main menu subject, camera aspect ratio should also be in there as a preference and you can change it IF YOU WANT! We all have widescreen TV’s so why does the camera revert back to 1:1 all the effin time? S%#ts me to tears!
