Don’t Ask Kazunori Yamauchi About GT5
June 1st, 2009 by Jordan
Just when we thought this roller coaster ride was about to come to an end, we find there’s one more scary drop: Sony is reportedly telling everyone interviewing Kazunori Yamauchi “to not mention Gran Turismo 5“. So…what does this mean? Obviously, it’s not good – presuming that Gran Turismo 5 is announced at Sony’s big press conference tomorrow, why couldn’t he talk about it? It may, ultimately, come down to Sony not wanting any GT5 announcements to dwarf GT Mobile and the new PSP Go hardware, in which case, we may be waiting several more months for news about the big game.
Of course, optimists in our forums have quickly called Sony out, speculating this may be some kind of trick – but it’s little more than gossip at this point. GT Mobile overshadowing GT5 is just a tough pill to swallow. Stay tuned…

PD are working on giving us a game that will have great longevity. E3 or no E3, we can wait.

Why is it necessarily bad? Maybe they just want to drop the bomb at E3 – therefore interviewing him about GT5 now wouldn’t result in anything we didn’t know already.

@the-bna: According to VG247’s word choice, Yamauchi won’t be interviewed by anyone until tomorrow – after the press conference where any “bombs” would presumably be dropped.

After seeing the Forza 3 trailor, if Sony doesn’t get GT5 out, I’m giving up… it’s getting ridiculous.

I hope they announce GT5 tomorrow. They will have some competition with Forza 3 which has some beautiful (Not on par with GT5) Graphics and its coming out in october.

If Amar said E3, then E3 it is….hopefully =S

Remember, they did not cite a source. At all. This is not credible at all, IMHO, until we know that there’s a reputable source behind this. As it’s the day before E3, there are too many PR variables, such as MS and Sony ploys to grab attention through a rumor like this, to believe an unsubstantiated blurb like this.
