Past them all pretty quick, except or the Nürburgring one. It’s no problem driving it, but I’m stuck on a controller and not a wheel so stepping out to try to make an over take on track that it’s probably fair to say has limited passing zones. I don’t want to turn up the assists though…. It’s fine, I’m always one for a good challenge and I hope to see a Expert level Le Mans event next!

  2. sanesh21

I think this event was a good challenge. Especially around Tokyo and the ring. Can’t remember how many times I spun out lol.

    1. Amac500

I didn’t spin out at Tokyo, but lets just say the car wasn’t too pretty at the end, lol. Indy was easiest for me, then Tokyo (the hard part there was it felt awkward going backwards to me, lol), then Rome, then Eifel, and finally the Nürburgring.

    2. ViperSRT10ACR

Haha on Tokyo I spun out on the last lap on the second to last corner in one attempt. Free money though, I’ll take that for what its worth.

    1. mercedesgpf1

Audi, before, in 1970 (I think, don’t know if 1970) There were races with the F1 in that circuit.

    2. moxlox

Errrr, Audi, the Nordschliefe was an F1 track up until 1977. They stopped using it after Niki Lauda’s fiery crash.

Also in recent years (about 2008) they ran Nick Heidfeld in an F1 BMW-Sauber on it, after which Heidfeld duly stated it was awesome.

Now we have a simulator that let’s us simulate something that is too dangerous to do in real life. So why complain?! Incomprehensible.

  3. FormulaKimball

Wow guys the ‘Ring in this event is a credit machine, 3.5 million at 780pp with the 200% online and performance difference bonus. Still finished 15 seconds ahead of the AI, too.

    1. FormulaKimball

755pp, 4.2 million, just beat the AI by 0.7 with two 7:00 laps. That’s as much as I can get from it tonight :)

  4. Broda

Amazing, been waiting for the Zonda C12s 7.3 for quite some time now. Love it too, so much power!!!

This game just keeps on keeping on!!!

    1. shunny14

So here I am, catching up on F1 qualifying and curious about what it takes to buy the F1 car in GT5 and I come across this article on GT Planet. I scroll down to the comments and bam, your lovely, serendipitous addition to this news article is first on the list. Thanks for spoiling the result for me. I am currently watching the red flag and Q2, and am quite curious to see how and in how long Alonso goes on to take pole.

It suffices to say that I greatly appreciate your two cents on this article. G’day!

    2. Amac500

Just wait til you see Weber overtake Alonso on the out side for the win, what a pass, you’ll love it when you see it Shunny

  5. Flagmo-T

Sadly but true – It’s all Monster Business, that’s why GT series is like a Showroom for Cars, It’s not a bad Race Game, but it will never be a whole real life experience, with F1 DtM Nascar Rally Drifting – Because it will always Miss out some Cars or some Tracks, to simulate a Whole Season.. ( This is not meant in a bad way )
But that’s why, if you like to Race with the Series Like in this week, F1- at Silverstone, you’ll need other Race Games in your Box, The PD F1 Game is Cheap and it’s a Great Formula Race Game, but of course out dated in Tracks and car Models, but at least i gives you a great Race experience in F1.
Codemasters Formula Games are not Bad at all, even that lots of GT-Drivers here would say it is ( But that’s another reason, not a very clever one But a reason!! )
We Don’t need a GT6 – We need more Tracks for GT5, because it would only end up like with GT5 – a Half real life Race Experience, which is missing out Great Cars and Tracks, all because of the business side of things, and even PD has to work around that, like it or not – Ex: No Porshe cars ( Rumored to come K.Y) – No Koeniqsegg ( even though they almost would give a High Poly 3D Model for free, But other deals are in the way) – No all Team F1 cars ( To expensive) – No Real Rally Tracks, ETC ..
More authentic Race Tracks, to complete a whole season lay-out could be fun to have in GT5..
I don’t No Guys, it is what it is – we got what PD/K.Y gives us – :o)

    1. Amac500

It’s because licensing all these is stupid expensive and you need a massive, massive staff to code it all. I mean unless you want to see 20 years between releases. It also would mean less attention to details in the graphics and physics. PD’s staff isn’t huge and the budget to license all of that under 1 title would be absurd. That’s why it’s the best all around driving simulator, it has a little of everything. Everything in one title would be an outrageously low return in money. They would loose money on the outcome because by they time they pay for licensing and all those tracks and everything and get their $60 per pop it would not pan out for them. That’s why we don have F1, the money is WAY WAY WAY to much, that’s why F1 didn’t have a game for so long, it was way to much to put it in one racing title, let alone into a multi-league game. Codemasters now has them and it’s the only racing game they have now. And you want them to get licenses to F1 AND all the other series there are AND all their cars AND all their tracks. WAY WAY WAY to much money, an absolute and total economic nightmare!

  6. carfanatic45

I want to buy one of the Ferrari F1 cars but i’m not sure which one to choose. I was planing on getting the F12010 because it’s cheaper and in my opinion, better looking. So can someone tell me which is the better buy in terms of grip and handling. I have 15,244,724cr. to spare.

    1. gamerdog6482

F10 is better at handling but F2007 has a better top speed. Also keep in mind the F10 can’t run full power full downforce for this seasonal, it will exceed the PP limit.

    2. carfanatic45

What if we were aloud to create tracks(not in create a track mode) but on a sheet of paper, computer, scalextrics, ect. Then we submit our designs to PD and he can choose his favorites. It may take centuries to get them in the game but at least we get our own homemade tracks.

    3. HuskyGT

It really doesn’t matter since the A.I will choose the one that you have. To be hinest, this is the first time I drive the F1 cars since I got the game a couple of years ago. the last time was in GT5 Prologue. I just finished the Seasonals and used the F10. I was preparing myself to be crushed, but to my surprise the car is extremely forgiving and predictive. You’ll find yourself pushing the car to it’s limits in every turn without any signs of loosing control. And that with everything off including ABS.

I have to say I’m very impressed with these F1 cars. It was much more fun than I expected. Except for the Nurburgring and Tokio…

  7. V v G T v V

The only prize you get for this (considering you need at least a 10 000 000 cr investment for the cheapest F1) is a SP1… I’m sorry… But I already had 4 of those… And the ticket isn’t tradable… I mean WTF I was at least expecting a level 24 ticket or even a 30…

I mean sometimes I think the GT5 designers want to lose costumers by passing them off… So No one will buy GT6 (I know that thatcwill never happen… But bear with me here…) first they don’t let you trade cars over 1 million cr… Then they limt what tickets are tradable and those who aren’t… Then they limit the tradable tickets to cars of 10 000 000 cr… They they put the login = more expensive and winnings… So if you skip a day because your out of town… You lose 30%… Oh and let’s not forget that at the same time they doubled the prices of the standard cars and cut the earnings in half… And now any new DLC that comes out seems even more pointless then the last… Going in that “let me take your money” attitude they’ve developed with GT5… And example you say? Why the last DLC, let’s think a little… Not so long ago the montegi track was on GT4… And it was free…. Not to mention cooler because of the sunset…

Now those are the facts… I’m not trying to give my point of view, I’m just trying to be realistic… You may agree, or you may disagree… It’s your choice… But they’re still facts…

    1. gamerdog6482

First of all, there are no cars that are level 30, second of all, I got two F10’s FREE from the 24 tickets you get. So you don’t have to pay 10,000,000 for it and you get a free SP1. On top of all this, you get to use said free F1’s in five events on very fun coarses. Some people just need to stop posting things.
“Oh and let’s not forget that at the same time they doubled the prices of the standard cars and cut the earnings in half” They INCREASED the earnings, not halfed them! You just need to go away and stay there. You say that your opinion of Motegi is a fact? You, Sir, are a VERY distorted person.

  8. george_rodes

Just like the old 200 A-Spec hunts!
Lowering the PPs on the F2007 very exciting!
    Thx PD!

  9. Pahlyracing1

I must say the last one was a little tricky because it is a track I don’t like really well. Still got through it though.

    PR

  10. RentALife

talking about f1’s hopefully with the new DLC there’s more f1’s because I love f1 and I can only drive it in game other than formula 1 2011 but put more f1’s like s.vettel redbull f1 I mean I thought you guys would of have his f1 as well since he came played gt5 and you got redbull in gt5

    1. Hentis

As per your question see this news item posted last week:-

      http://www.gtplanet.net/kazunori-yamauchi-discusses-mobile-gaming-formula-1-licensing-at-gamelab-2012

Incase you dont want to goto the location heres what it says :-

“While speaking with Elmundo, he also shared information about Polyphony Digital’s attempts to create an officially-licensed Formula 1 game:

“[…] we were interested to create a game with the Formula 1 license but had to withdraw. That industry is a monster, so big that any agreement you want to get forces you to make a financial outlay that we can not afford.””

As we know Bernie Ecclestone is the chap that owns the rights to the F1 cars all axcept by some special arrangement Ferrari.
So judging by just enquiring about an officially liscensed F1 game costing a damn lot of money, so thinking that we might get some F1 cars as DLC well to be honest my answer is NO. maybe the 2011 Ferrari F1 or 2012 but anything like a Mclaren, Redbull, Force Indai or Mercedes….. etc etc just aint gonna happen.

    2. rallymorten

      @ Hentis.

Yes, Bernie owns Formula 1, but I wonder if the constructors can’t go around him with this. I mean, Ferrari did to an extend, and seeing as we already have McLaren and Mercedes road cars (and PD seems to be good friends with Red Bull), maybe they can just provide some older F1’s (e.g. 2010 season like Ferrari).

OR PD can do like they did with Polyphony001 and 002 and all the other F1’s from GT3: Just make a mixup of different cars but still make it somewhat clear which ones they’re meant look like. In that case they don’t need F1 license as they’re basically fictive.

    3. Hentis

      @rallymorten

Bernie apparently holds the rights to the design of the F1 cars that the teams make. Ferrari F1 cars for some strange reason are all owned by Ferrari and not Bernie Ecclestone. Its all in the news on here about a year ago. SO probably not that Mclaren / Mercedes or Redbull will give earlier designs for PD. If you search the news its in an interview that Kazonouri did about about a year ago.

    4. Flagmo-T

    5. rallymorten

      @ Hentis

That just gave me another reason to love the Formula GT and the F1’s in GT3.

I understand it if Bernie doesn’t want the F1 in GT (though I honestly don’t see why). What I don’t quite understand is why he has the rights to cars other manufacturers create (unless that has something to do with TV licensing etc.)

But again, if we can only make PD mix different F1 cars into one car or make new ones that to an extend look like real cars, nobody theoretically would be able to say something. There’s tons of games out there with open wheel cars that look like F1s without being.

  11. Gtlove

Got a new wheel too, but faster with the controller at the moment. Bound to take some getting used to and this’ll be perfect :)

  12. Gtlove

Brilly! Can’t wait to use my Ferrari in earnest! I bought it ages ago for 2 player action, but couldn’t choose it for any race :((

  13. WonkyFonk

Ive lost count of how many times ive said “Fernando is faster than you” while doing these races!

  14. BanditRa101801

Hey, even though the discussion is now towards the GT Academy Gifting Schedule, I sure do love the PDB in this event. :v

  15. 6ampstate

Just finished! Yea that was pretty fun. You really had to be getting the power down and be on line if you wanted to drop seconds on the leaders. I was glad it wasn’t tracks like Suzuka, Monza, etc because they had a Ferrari F1 car seasonal awhile back that went to all those tracks. I thought the Nurburgring 24hr was the best on this one! As far as the prize, I wish it was a better one, granted I will use a car like the SP1. It was just too much work for a car I could buy otherwise. Looking forward to more Seasonal Events! But perhaps a better prize car!

Now I will go back to my other favorite aspect of the game, the course generator. :)
    PD,
GT6 should have a course generator too!!!

My strategy for making cool tracks has been to put some effort into making a track that I think would be cool, then, generate a new one based off it and race on the newly generated track without modifying it. They seem to be more unique and have better flow then the ones I put effort into. SOOO FUUNN.

  16. Hentis

Okay so I proved tonight im no expert.
    What am I talking about?
    The latest seasonals.
    Using the Ferrari F1 cars.

I got a decent set up but made the mistake of changing the oil. I had only done 47.1 miles in the F10 car.
So with a sense of wellbeing I directed my Stig avatar into the F10 car and out onto the Rome circiut.

Ten laps later and 50 seconds down in last place my lil Stiggie avatar came across the line in last place. With the front end looking more like its done 10 rounds with mike Tyson rather than thew Race circuit my l;il Stig threw out the steering wheel and stormed off into the back of the garage. I didnt even know they had tha animation in the game….. well if they didnt they do now. My lil Stiggie avatar was in a right mood!!!

It just goes to show that just because I love F1 im not that good at driving F1 cars around the place :)

  17. mpcp27

Anybody lowered the pp from 870? I lowered mine down to 840 and was still able to win comfortably (1st by the 8 th lap usually) on the first 4 – still have to do the 5th. How miuch can you lower the pp and still win?

    1. mpcp27

Okay, I haven’t tried the indy lower than 840. However, I have done the Nurbringing at 800pp and the Rome at 830 pp. I think I can drop the Rome lower but was having a hard time at 820 pp.

  18. Brunskill777

WOW, this is one of the best seasonals EVER. I get to use my Ferrari F2007 which I rarely use (because I can’t race it in a-spec and only use it in practice. I never understood why the two ferrari F1 cars aren’t allowed to do a-spec but the FGT and X1 are. I’m not complaining, just I’d like to use my F1 car more.) This challenge certainly was challenging even for myself and not many seasonals truly challenge me. I’ll admit most of them I had the lead by about the fifth lap, but on Rome it was the 8th, and Nurburgring, only a last chicane manoeuvre got me the 900,000 credits. PDB was a bit redundant here, but didn’t stop this being a truly great seasonal. Thank you.

  19. Zamado75

Hmm, I assume by expert you mean:

    Someone who,
    A) Spent WAY too much time playing and was gifted it at lvl40

    B) Spent most of their time grinding and (stupidly) spent all their ‘money’ on it.

Or C) Someone (Me for example) who borrow glitched it.

Ok, but I don’t think I’ll waste my time doing a stupid amount of laps to gain, frankly poor, payouts.

    1. tube chaser

Fellas, its not about the payouts is it? I thought we all race for the sheer enjoyment thereof. We’ve been asking for longer seasonals on these forums for ages – and now that we get it – the cash ain’t good enough?

    2. mpcp27

Why do you guys say the payouts are not that much? The racing time isn’t much longer than the regular seasonals – more laps but a way faster car so the lap times are much less. The money isn’t significantly more but with the added bonus of the 200% that you get some more and then if you start lowering the PP then you get even more money. At 840 pp I got over 2.2 Milllion on the nurburgring for coming first.

  20. bmoe24x

Idk how I tell everyone this but there is a new online dealership, pagani and Isuzu mostly. Thanks

    1. Quakebass

“The game’s Online Car Dealership has also been updated with a new selection of inventory.” We already know this…

  21. Mr Nerv

…However, it’s times like these when you’d appreciate a Red Bull ’10 F1 car to break up the red sea…

I know it’s unlike to happen, but more licenses is the evolution in my opinion.

  22. Tallgeese69

I do believe it says no tuning is allowed in the event do how will that affect the bonus? At least by using RH tires it will be a good event

    1. Quakebass

You can tune the aero… thee isn’t much you can add to an F10 or F2007… Though you can’t max the aero or you’ll break regulations.

    1. 6ampstate

I used the f10 and also thought it was pretty hard. Had to set it up. Gearing at 224, stock suspension, front wing at about 60. But other than that really important to use the draft of other cars when you can. If you can pull 1:18’s in clear air and even go even faster with the draft you’ll win. :)

  23. mikecustom

finally, i got my zonda c12s 7.3, it had never appeared on any dealership since i got my game back in 2010, oh and the nurb 24 f1 event, amazing…

    1. gamerdog6482

Really? I have only had my game for about 8 months and it just appeard yesterday. You must be on ML2. I bought it. I am currently in the process of kicking myself in the face.

    2. Quakebass

I’d seen it several times, but I had never had enough for it when ever it showed up… I was trying to save for the Audi R8 LMS PlayStation car, and right when I achieved the cash, it reset. Luckily I didn’t miss any other cars…

    3. Mr Nerv

Well, Quake, it’s the only car I didn’t have, everything else that wasn’t expensive was worked for and sent from my second account, and my main saw money spent on race cars and stuff! It’s nice to finish the collection finally, aside from the 2 A-Spec 24 hour tickets. I may already own those cars, I’ve only opened 2 tickets all game…

    1. gamerdog6482

really? I have only had my game for about 8 months and it just appeard yesterday. I bought it. I am currently in the process of kicking myself in the face.

  24. Lambob

    Nur 24hr 2 laps with F1 !
Best seasonal ever! and I haven’t tried it yet today.
Thx PD! keep em coming like this!

  25. SVT Cobra GT

I’m just wondering how the Performance Difference Bonus is going to play a hand in these events.

I’m not a full on tuner in GT5 but I’m sure you can’t modify the F1 cars so much as to change the PP level for them!

    1. Marcs2606

Agreed, the tracks chosen are ok but could have been better. No complaints though, I’m pleased all the same and at least we haven’t been shafted with more B spec.

    2. USARMYCOMBATVET

Monaco was recently chosen as the site of a time trial for cars @871PP. They want to mix it up. What’s the beef?

  26. m8h3r

    YES!!!

I don’t care about the track, I don’t care about the winnings, I’m just ecstatic that the F1 cars finally have a use again :D I love driving them so much.

    1. USARMYCOMBATVET

Sometimes, if you pick the right car and right PP, you’ll start in the middle of the rankings. True story.

    1. Maddens Raiders

This comment was meant for the other thread dammit. The one GT Academy winnings, thread. Apologies.

    1. OneManRiot

They dont race today but in the 70’s they used to race F1 at Nurburgring. Its the place where Nikki Lauda got his nickname after his crash…

    2. Amac500

The ring just isn’t safe for the modern day racing series like WEC and F1, the track would cause countless injuries. But yeah, back in the day F1 did run it and there is 1 or 2 good videos on YouTube where Sir Jackie Stewart talks you around it. Back in the Group C days I think, not 100% sure, but I think they ran the ring. I know that Stefan (forget the last name which will bother the Hell out of me because I he was a great young talent that was taken too soon in a crash at Spa I Eau Rouge) set the record lap there in a Rothman Porsche 962. F1 couldn’t run there today for obvious reasons, WEC could run there if not for the different classes with large speed differences.

    3. mistersafeway

They hold a 24 hour race at Nordschleife every year with cars with big differences in speed. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too dangerous in WEC.

    4. Bom15

@ Amac500. Stefan Bellof’s the name your looking for. He set the record during the last 1000KM event held there. It wasn’t the Porsche 962 he set the record in. It was the older brother the 956. The actual car was at Goodwood Fos this past weekend. Unfortunately it developed a misfire by the 2nd day so it didn’t run after that.

    5. USARMYCOMBATVET

Well, this isn’t real life, its a game. Fantasy is the intent. Exploring the ring on a video isn’t going to hurt anyone.

    6. Quakebass

That’s the great thing about video games; you can do things that aren’t possible in reality.

    1. another_jakhole

I hate Kate Upton, but I can understand two reasons why people like her. I seriously hate her :)

  27. Boosted_01_R

Liking the themed seasonal events, Le Mans a bit ago…Ferrari wins the last F1 race with a ferrari seasonal showing up ….. pretty cool
