I’m kind of disappointed with the F1 in this game and I really hope PD focuses more on it. They really should take a lot from F1 2012 and CM seeing as that game simulates F1 better. F1 2012 has arguably better physics than GT5 in terms of F1.

  2. GTrf

if someone didn’t know. To increase stability of FPS you need to reduce the screen to 90%. Display settings > Set display size (HD)=90%. This works! sorry if my english is bad.

  3. Pvig73

Must admit that I’m enjoying this set of events but just cannot get gold for the muscle car drift. I’m only 75 points away from gold. Loving the rally car drift. Using a Delta Integrale for that.

    1. Pit Crew

Yeah Section 1gave me fits. In all truthfulness I lucked out and got 2000 plus point drift in that curve which helped put me over the top because others i was averaging 3800 to 4200 points or so. Good Luck :tup

    2. Pvig73

Managed to just about get gold. That’s it now for that drift trial :-) Section 1 was a tease……..but strangely satisfying.

    3. QuikSlvr223

4WD drifting in a WRX RM (in WR Blue Mica with gold wheels, as if there was any other way to drive a Subaru rally car). So much fun!

  4. hobanator24

Does anyone know why the gran turismo page isn’t working? At first, the photos in photo stream haven’t changed for about a week. Now, the seasonals haven’t updated. Am I the only one seeing this?

    1. hobanator24

I just checked the US & UK sites (I live in the US) and the UK Site is working. Photo Steam, News, and seasonals are all updated.

  5. Lambob

2.08 made the Nurburgring experience feel almost too grippy. But I am happy to feel subtle changes when changing springs , dampers, as I feel they are more prevalent than ever before.

    1. BlindZenDriver

I agree – it would be fitting with the F1 circus being there this weekend.

But no biggie I think. Both tracks are great and letting those that haven’t bought Spa race it is both a treat and good marketing.

  6. Swagger897

Only if codemasters and pd could join together…. No, actually if codemasters made somthing along the lines as this (which really isn’t a sim,it’s a generic product meant to introduce people to the driving world…) to where you can pick thousands of cars other than a skyline or gt-r, then that would be the best game in the world, their physics engine is amazing in f1 2012

And I also reccomend for those whining about a new DLC or GT6 to come out.. Go out and get F1 2012, as codemasters releases one every year at the end of summer, so you won’t have to wait a whole year for the first DLC as we had to do with this…. Besides, no body knows about codemasters because their community isn’t centered in one country… So you do get to play with a lot of foreigners that almost all speak English… (Except the brazilians.. They don’t have mics)

Please people, chose something rather than nagging..
    Swagger

    1. BaTsBR

Hey, I`m brazilian and I got a headset with mic too. Lol.
Have to agree, and it`s good for you guys, not everybody knows how to speak english very well. Neither do I lol.
But I still have hope that PD will make e really good job with a new gt series, cause gt 5 is g try getting behind other racing games.
By the way, I`m stuck with this time trial for gt f formula

    2. BWX

CM- rrr… bugmasters have a lot of work to do too. F1 2012 is good though, even with all the bugs, but PD could learn a lot from CM about ai, and a race simulation in general.

    3. MeanElf

Sorry Swagger – I really like Codemasters…but a sim? Those guys have been going steadily more arcade-wards for the past three or so years. I tried the demo for F1 2012 but wasn’t that impressed overall.

Also I don’t get why PD should join up with CM – CM is owned by a majority shareholder that have forced the decisions away from sim gaming. DiRT 2 was great, from then onwards when the shareholders took over the games have gone steadily ‘casual-gamer friendly’. Nevertheless I still love the DiRT series but I’d hate for PD and CM to get together. Milestone/Black Bean would be a better choice, if only for the rally part.

And truthfully, have you read any posts on this site? PD’s community is not based in one country either…

      Just…sheesh…

    4. TwistedMerc

It’s not exactly right to call F1 2012 “Arcade” since they both fit in the same category. They’re both “Arcade sims” but both have a bit more emphasis on the “sim” than the “Arcade”.

Believe it or not F1 2012 is more realistic than GT5 in terms of F1. The F1 in GT5 is more of a stripped version than that of F1 2012’s.

  7. Zuel

The reason why some of you are find GT5 boring is due to the same old thing. I don’t mean to sound a dead drum but you may want to replace your whole garage or lose the cars that have been tuned to a stage 3 motor. If some of you haven’t noticed the PP, and the tuning performance (Adding parts to the motor = tuning, not the body or chassis) have changed. A lot of cars are just junked if build to a stage3 motor now since the update, mainly the 2.06 and 2.08 updates.

    1. JsZico

I think you get the most fun out of gt by driving all cars standard. You get the feeling how individual cars handle and the enginesound is awesome, you just have to rev up the volume :-)

    2. WTFnews

@ JsZico you are 100% correct i love to drive my stock ferrari or RUF, and i think the Lambo Gallardo has the most acurate sound in the whole game, if you put a race exaust on a car you just ruin it, even tough the RUF CTR2 has a race exaust stock it still sounds AMAZING!!! guys we should only play this game for the awsome feeling and the stock sounds and the amazing graphics.

      sry for bad english

    3. skyrunr10k

First of all, sorry for going off topic from the F1 seasonal; but I completely agree with WTF and JsZico regarding the “over tuning” issue. It just isn’t much fun to watch someone with a perfect tune (and an under rated pp car) go out and hot lap. I’ve been that person a few times and don’t enjoy those races half as much as finishing last in a good shuffle battle.

THE FIX: A filter for online rooms that don’t allow tuning along with a street/race-concept filter. When joining these rooms your car would be set to stock automatically without going into your garage and giving up a tuning preset. It still baffles me as to why they don’t have a PP filter for online rooms.

GT5 is a great game but it hasn’t been implemented very well. There should be integrated online racing leagues. Something along the lines of A-Spec seasonal events but with real opponents!

    4. Pit Crew

This is why I have multiple models in my garage. Full tune, Drift tune, Wheelie Tune (Sheby Cobra TVR Tamora Post 2.00 update) Full stock, Time Trial, and 0/0/0. Also I create courses with variable difficulties including weather, to keep my technique tight for any upcoming TTs or League Races. Tuning is an integral part of GT5 and shouldnt be a point of contention, more like a part of the Learning Curve.

Dont over tune your cars with Stage 3 weight Engine Mods, parts that are permanent, but using the non permanent tuning parts is cool since you can keep 1 of the settings sheet pre sets completely stock.

  8. SonicConqueror

This weekend for Australian viewers, the Australian V8 Supercars Championship is live at Mount. Panorama for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 Endurance Race.

    1. MaterA113

Wish they would show it live here in the US. They did last year and it was great , but this year we just have delayed and edited coverage. V8 Supercars is one of the greatest series in the world.

  9. BWX

Follow the rabbit ai with rolling roadblocks or driving in circles by yourself.. GT5 seasonals totally freaking suck. What ever happened to GT4 type a-spec? Is this what Gran Turismo is reduced to? Take away standing starts with ai that at least TRY, take away good career mode, and this boring garbage is what you end up with. Good job Kaz, good job.

    1. TokoTurismo

Well. I actually agree with @BWX about the stupid chase the rabbit and rolling starts CRAP! Honestly. Why can’t they just do what we want them to make, such as events? Where the hell is *Boxer Spirit? PD is just reusing the same events they took away from us for who knows what reason.

I miss standing starts so much it’s driving me crazy! I still love GT5 yes, it’s just PD! Don’t blame @BWX just because GT5 isn’t fun anymore..

    2. Andyc709292

So stop playing it, stop posting here and move on. Life’s too short to have rage at some electrons floating around. Have a beer/soda, go sit in the sun and wonder why you’re ranting about $100 of spend some years ago.

    3. Neilson248

GT5 is the best gt yet… I have never enjoyed any gt ge like this and I have tried them all… Thank God for online racing and the amazing physics, beautiful graphics, changeable time and weather etc… Love GT5… Only losers complain about the best game in the world

    4. Marcs2606

It’s not the best game at all, I’ve recently switched to F1 2012 and whilst the physics and general feel is no where near that of GT5 the AI is amazing. If GT5 could match it then the overall experience would be much, much better. As it stands it’s quite boring to play offline. On another note I can’t understand why whenever someone makes a genuine complaint about the game some people just can’t handle it and kick off.

    5. Pit Crew

Neilson, even Kaz doesn’t like the way GT5 turned out lol, and you say we are losers for complaining? I would say we got enough heart to speak our mind, and enough sense to know we could get better events then recycled seasonal events, and OCDs filled with, for example, Kcar garbage every month.

    6. BWX

By the way I drink plenty of beer, get plenty sun, and no GT5 is not ”my life’ or some ridiculous BS like Andyc709292 is trying to imply. I’m a GT fan and thus care about how GT is doing. Right now GT needs a lot of help in a lot of ways. It is going backwards in many ways which sucks for true GT fans.

    7. 77

F12012 is truly a gash game, talk about unfinished lol and i love the comedy DRS physics and the fact u have to pause and save to change view and cant look behind u is highly amusing. But seeing as “the physics and general feel is no where near that of GT5” …..Im tempted

    8. BWX

77 must be playing a pirate copy.. Those aren’t all even problems in the paid-for verion. I know, I bought F1 2012. Nice try, but you just exposed yourself for what you are. Go BUY the game, until then, don’t make yourself look so foolish by criticising a hack/torrent version of a game.

    9. 77

was a ps3 demo actually, but i love the effort you went to there, top job! keep trying ull be sherlock holmes one day! although he did solve pertinent crimes….

    10. TwistedMerc

Marcs, the physics are better in F1 2012 compared to GT5 when it comes to F1. Overall, F1 2012 is more realistic in the physics and tire wear, fuel consumption, suspension, and pit strategy.

I’m not trying to bash on GT5 since it does a fine job with its physics, but no doubt does F1 2012 simulate F1 better in every aspect since, well that’s what F1 2012 is about.

  10. Brunskill777

I SO HATE TIME AND DRIFT TRIALS. THEY’RE SO BORING AND I’M NOT SPENDING HOURS OR EVEN MINUTES ON THEM. CAN WE HAVE SOME ACTUAL RACING PLEASE?????! I DON’T WANT TO DRIVE ROUND FOR HOURS TRYING TO BEAT GOLD AND I CERTAINLY DON’T WANT TO DRIFT. THIS GAMES’ MAIN REASON OF BEING MADE WAS TO RACE AND I’M ONLY GETTING NEW RACES EVERY FOTNIGHT. GIVE ME SOME DECENT RACES TO GET MY TEETH INTO.

    1. Morgoth_666

I hate to break it to you, but the seasonal “races” aren’t any more actual races than the time trials are, they just have really annoying obstacles along the way. They also tend to take a whole lot longer to complete, since gold is usually very easy in TT’s, though I can’t comment on this one yet. The only things resembling “decent” races outside of online lobbies in GT5 don’t pay any credits at all, or take several hours to complete.
Hope you can read this without caps lock. Mine doesn’t seem to want to stay on.

    2. Lambob

Why aren’t you racing online, make your own room, your own rules, your own track choice, form a community, why worry about these seasonals against bowling pin AI or ladder rated 2J drivers?

    3. 77

love the time trials, theres no other way of doing a time trial…….this will be the format now and i hope forever. see who can put their car round a track quickest, love it, thanks

  11. DGXR

Yes this FGT seasonal is a little tough but I don’t think they should actually be easy, that would take the fun & challenge out of them. Myself, if I don’t gold a seasonal in 3-4 tries with different tunings & adjustments, I know that I’ve done my best and I accept whatever trophy and credits I’m given. If you want fast cash, assuming you have a Ferrari F2007, go to the Expert Level Ferrari Formula Seasonal and detune it to 390-400hp. You can make 2.7 million credits in 10 laps around Eifel (12 minutes). That’s well over 13 million credits per hour. Without a Ferrari F2007, there’s plenty of other races to grind for easy credits but this is the most lucrative one I’ve found.

  12. Sonygamer455

I kind of wish these time trials and drift trials could be easier because when i started the game, they were pretty easy. Now it’s getting to the point were i don’t even want to do them anymore. For anybody who wants easy cash, buy a Mclaren F1 GTR race car, Zonda LM Race Car or the Zonda R, then go to the B Spec race 3 at Suzuka. Make sure you are not challenging the Mclaren or the Zonda because they are very difficult beat. If you get them quit and go back into the race until you aren’t challenging them, once thats done, just race!:) With 200% you will make over a million credits in 20 minutes:)

    1. KFM

Right now, if you’re looking for quick cash, just buy a Suzuki Cappuccino and race in the K-car seasonal event. Trial Mountain takes ~6 minutes and makes you over 500,000 if your car doesn’t have high PP.

    2. QuikSlvr223

I use my GT Academy R34 with about 440 PP in the 4WD Sarthe seasonal. You have to cheat to win, but wou get 950k with just 130%. Haven’t been able to get the percentage higher, but I just couldn’t believe how much 200% would get you.

  13. volvo 245

I think the seasonals petting harder and harder.Perhaps they
will be equally impossible golding as vettel challenge if this trend
    contuines.(im a dual shock user)
anyway i have no intention to spend hour after hour to win a race.
this is the first timetrial i dont care to gold the seasonal because i am not
a nerd or asperberger that can spent so much time playing this game.
hours after hours. thx,gt i will spend much less time to play this game
    from now on.

    1. Andyc709292

      I’d agree.
I had a month off thanks to a broken hand and TV woes, and the seasonal events on return seem impossible. The Rome muscle car event just wasn’t possible (by me) without turning on the anti-spin. Once I had that on it was easy enough. I admit I’m not the same level as some here, but am a regular racer so expect to be reasonably proficient.

    2. 77

i expect to be as good as the inputs i give the game….garbage in garbage out… if ur not as good as u expected then u expected wrong lol

  14. V12FREAK

Forza Horizon is starting in a few days Guys ! You should finally throw your ps3 away and join the party !!! F### GT5 !!!

    1. KFM

Forza Horizon looks great. Unfortunately, looks alone can’t compensate for the horrible driving experience I’m sure it will offer, if the previous Forza games are any indication.

    2. HKSBro92

Im getting Horizon but you’re an idiot. It’s an arcade racer, not a sim. And plus I’m a little pissed at Turn10 because they’re gonna do the whole “DLC every month” BS they did with Forza 4.

    3. danger23

lol f… those d… riding xbox users that get raped every month or 3 month or a year just to play online then they have a racing game that looks good but playz like sh…, so stay with playstation you wont get ripped off like they do “haha”

    4. Progress823

I am starting to wonder if Forza had no DLC would it still have the same amount of appeal as, say a GT4???

    5. 77

wooo a massive open roam world (with pretty much invariable width/corners)…..and u can have 8 people in a lobby…..lame

  15. BFBulletMagnet

I’m loving playing in the dirt. Reminds me of when I made dirt tracks with Popsicle sticks for my hot wheels!

    1. warpkez

I am glad I am not the only one that is having some trouble. I have done the off-line practice and it is no where as ridiculous as this one – even with aides disabled or reduced to bare minimum.

    1. MeanElf

You had a PS3 crash and so have had to start again? Just do one of the last few seasonals at a lower PP and you’ll have the cr5mil in two hours

    2. smskeeter23

Look in the last seasonal thread for my Superbird setup and do the Daytona track. You’ll have five mil in thirty min ;-)

  16. SonicConqueror

Next week, SUPERCAR FESTIVAL A-Spec seasonal event.

    These proposed regulations of mine:

    Any car accepted
    650PP or less
    Sports Soft Tyres or less
PDB: eg. 585 PP doubles the reward

    1. SonicConqueror

After the SUPERCAR FESTIVAL A-Spec seasonal event, I highly doubt if they will re-release the Expert Challenge Race seasonal event.

  17. Pit Crew

Im actually hyped for the toscana event. PD should consider a Rally seasonal where 1of the 3 Rally level tickets is the prize.

  18. Shoe67

I don’t like FGT…doesn’t turn in like the F1s…I’m so used to the ferarri f1s that this is not going to be an easy run…

  19. SonicConqueror

The steering control for the FGT is more harder when turning the car on a banked corner in excess of 280 km/h.
