Me personally, I'd rather the schedule stay just the way it is. Monaco is a tough race in any car on GT5 with a good sized grid and I was looking forward to the challenge even though I'm convinced I'm not going to do well...lol. Also, at the bigger tracks a double win is easily possible whereas at Monaco it would be a real accomplishment. It also gives a real chance for some of the fellas that are a little or even a lot off the polesitter's pace to get a victory in the reverse grid race and that's something I'd really like to see:tup:

I vote to leave it on the schedule as is. We knew the race was there at the beginning of the season and we all know what it's like to run at Monaco. Running an enduro will almost ensure a victory by the polesitter and won't be a lot of fun racing all in a line for 45 minutes.

I like the track, especially with this car; makes for some tough racing, and with the race distance, it should still give the fast guys enough time to move up after the reverse grid. I think if everyone uses their heads like we did getting through the first chicane at Monza last week, we won't have any problems.

I was in a 7 lap race, couldn't pass 1 car in that time. I would think even a Great-Monaco-master driver could only do 1 car a lap (without help).

I would still like Monaco and Spa to be on the calender.

That's 'cos I wasn't there.

Vote we keep with the current schedule.

I not sure how quickly I will have my set up complete. Gotta build a rig to hold the monitors. Build mounts for shakers. Really need to weld on the Rig again. Uggggh bring in 110 welder and lay down tarp weld in living room. LoL carry outside and to shop. Prob safest to do second.

Monitor rig will be stand alone. This way my tactile shakers will not be vibrating the monitors.

BrandonW77 Feb 07 2012 8:04 AM

We'll race at Monaco as planned then, just thought I'd mention it.

Still waiting on you to sell me one of your rigs so I can step up to a big boy wheel...

You should have me make you a customs one. Heck we can copy with some tweaks that Rhino seat. Simple effective. Or go more elaborate. You let me know when.

Brandon, appreciate the looking out and giving the chance to change tracks if people were dreading the tightness of Monaco.

Haha, picturing that cracked me up, maybe you guys could monitor swap

Thanks B for the suggestion about changing the track too, but I also think it's too short of notice. Monaco is tight, but it effects everyone equally, and if I recall correctly the cap race here was quite enjoyable, at least for myself.

I'd be ok with a custom or a copy, I really liked the looks of your T500 rig. I'm still hung on what wheel to go with though... I'm leaning to the T500RS, but the price and load cell mod-ability of the G27 pedals is a nice perk for future upgrades, though it's probably safe to say that there will be a load cell mod for the T500 pedals in the future... Don't know enough about the fanatec/club sport stuff to have an opinion. I've played with a DFGT before, and I did like it, despite it feeling pretty generic and detached, the pedals seem the be the big let down there.

Wait, do people actually practice before race day?? Maybe I'll have to try that. :dunce:

I like to practice for about 45 minutes to an hour 6 days before the race, then not get on again until 20-30 minutes before qualifying. As you can see by looking at the standings, it's a foolproof strategy.

Owens better keep his hands (and eyes) off my monitors, if he knows what's good for him! :ouch:

I'd heard that the one on the right had been seen out with an X-Box.

dsgerbc Feb 07 2012 9:59 AM

I'm glad we're keeping Monaco. Sure it's gonna be tough and things might get hairy, but I think it will be fun nonetheless.

Oh, and who's got bigger monitors? ;) 7" vs ?"
Or the size doesn't matter? ;)

In other news - I drove a few laps around Monaco yesterday after the update, and I think the FF has changed noticeably. It doesn't make the car go faster, but the feedback feels smoother. Or maybe they just altered the correspondence of GT5 feedback settings to motor output.

Looks like she'll be spending some time in The Dungeon.

TrackBound7 Feb 07 2012 10:50 AM

I say keep things as is. It is sort of like when a series goes to a short track. Everyone needs to put on their big boy pants and deal with a little touching here and there. I am not a fan of the track and struggled big time last night, but it was part of the schedule and I think it will be interesting if nothing else.
