Eastley, for what it's worth I wasnt trying to slag you or argue, it was merely giving my opinion on the matter. Probably best not to air your point of view on here if you dont wish others to rebut or comment on what you have said.....its a forum remember.

BTW Cobra427, good analogy

Basically I think it's better to test a cars real pefromance without the upgrade of NOS, that way it's the way they do IRL, for production cars anyway. I'm kind of a OLD SCHOOL racer (although i'm only 22). I love the old muscle cars with pure engine grunt/muscle without all these electronic stuff thats in cars these days. The feel of a old Muscle going 300 km/h is much better than these new cars that sound kind of tinny. Although you can install NOS on a old muscle car I would rather keep them the weay they were built.

Thats just my opinion.

Oh and is the replay of one of those sub 10second runs available? with 30,000 that is impressive, my imaginery hat goes off to you.

Wow, this is a fun concept.

I was up until 3am last night running 1/4 miles. So far, my best is in a Mercury Cougar XR-7 at around 12:605. I won't post full details until I get under 12:250 (no point).

But BOY did I have fun. I bought 9 different FR cars trying to get some good 1/4 mile speeds out of 'em. Nothing beats good old fashioned muscle for me.

then once again just run in the no nos ....

but i have to agree with you i am old school too... i LOVE classic muscle... i used to have a 1968 or 69 Datsun pickup with a rocket88 and a turbo 350 tranny..... if you dont know thats an olds version 350 V8..... man that thing was nasty .. but had to move and didnt have room

hell i have a 1983 stang with a 2.3L 4 cyl in it .... i have the equipment and then computer to put a 302V8 fuel injected in it but i dont like computers .... and i didnt put a frigg'n 5 inch cowel hood on it for a fuel injector ... can you say Highrise dual 4bbl

but still thats no reason for me to hate not ... granted i would NEVER used it IRL ... i love my cars too much and that crap will wear an engine quick ... i see no reason not to use it in a game that provides it for a hefty price .... take a look at the FR comp ... with some good tuning those non Nos could catch up with the Nos users .....

even tho on the lost it says there is a 10 second FR in no nos ... its in the wrong list

"that way it's the way they do IRL" dude they use nos IRL in drag races .... if you mean streat cars then well your in for a surprise you know how many street cars ive seen pack'n a bottle of Nos? way too many

i wish i could make vids... best i can do is a incredibly low quality gif from my camera ... but you cant even see the car half the time and it wont work on this pc :/

i paniced when i got my sub 10 ... i thought i had the wrong car then when i checked my records for it it was the right one ... i was go'n crazy lol

thats a cool idea but could you add a track ... circuit de la sarthe II? i love this track for testing my cars ... mainly cause i cant even make a lap on the nurb lol .. well i can but the amount of tries it takes just doesnt make it worth it :P
jaxx751
so are we gonna have catigories? we should setup separate threads, and only post if you beat someone's time...

I am very happy with this time. I started out with 15.6xx and as I kept tuning, and playing with settings I was very happy to see the time keep going down, and down and down. This car responds to tuning WAAAYYY better than that stupid skyline which would not move its time at all.

I will come back and put NOS in this car. I want to see how fast I can get it.
cobra427
you know if the car has a low end power you might wanna try use'n a manual tranny and start'n in second .... you can also shorten the gears alot for faster accel when start'n in second as you will not spin as much

and once you get used to it you will actually get better times than auto even start'n in 1st and use'n the same settings

you should look for the 2001 CIVIC TYPE R (EP)

212HP and with 16k miles is only 14299C

and im not the best at suspension tuning but to me it looks like your weight trasfer is really crazy ... you got the right idea if transfer'n all the cars weight to the front but at the same time whe you take off with such soft springs its gonna slam the rear down and actually take alot of weight off the front

but as i said i dont know that much about susp tuning ... ive allways concintrated on gearing in all the GT games

Updated times:

Finally, I break into the 10's! Took me long enough.

It's the Camaro I've been tweaking on. I'll restate everything since it's a few pages back with the listed information for my car.

1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

With N2O

50 Shot Nitrous: $5000
Supercharger: $13,500
Racing Chip: $1500
Stage 1 Weight Reduction: $1200
Oil Change $50
Base cost of car: $8438
Total cost: $29,688
Best 1/4 mile time: 10.987

Without Nitrous
Supercharger: $13,500
Racing Chip: $1500
Semi-racing exhaust: 2900
Racing Flywheel: $1050
Stage 1 Weight Reduction: $1200
Oil Change: $50
Total cost: $28638
Best 1/4 mile time: 11.957

Adding weight to the back of the car REALLY helped out. Upon first try with my nitrous setup, simply adding the full 200 lb to the back of the car took off 0.4 seconds on the 1/4 mile. For anyone that hasn't tried adding weight in the back (or to the front for an FF car), I definitely recommend messing around with the weight ballast.
