I know a lot of people have been looking for good beginners cars. This car is low budget and great for beginners and seasoned drivers alike. There are some change we might have to make to the base layout you posted.

I'm not sure how the car is with controller drivers, but for the Wheel users, the car handles great! Just like any real AE86 driver this setup is just clutch and throttle! Most corners you find your self flooring the throttle keeping great control without spinning. The car responds well to feint and shift look initiation. Even though the suspension is stock it still feels like a dream.

I'll try your setup with a controller, but I gotta buy another corolla again, I cant remove the engine mods.:grumpy:
 
curious for success w/a controller, coming from Forza, tuning in GT is very different it seems.
Its possible, but the settings will be very different.
Time for a PDR revival methinks. :)

If I had PS3 then yes but I don't mind someone else taking over. I haven't talked to the team in awhile but some of them have moved on.

Little description of handling characteristics: pretty stable at high speed as well as being a tidy drifter, some may find it hard to initiate a drift with it but it'll feint and power over quite nicely once you get used to it. Corners on Norwand should be taken in 2nd, you can get away with third for the long sweeper at the lowest point of the course. I haven't tuned the box as I don't like the transmission whine you get with the racing transmission.
Anyone looking to tune this car for a specific track would probably want to look at the camber angles and dampers first.

I've been working on a sprinter trueno GT-AE86 .

Ive spent about 6 hours tuning the suspension so far.
I'll post what i have later
but if anyone else knows the best for sliding let me know
 
Can someone please post GT5 drift settings for the RX-7 Spirit R Type-A (FD) :)


Yesssss, and maybe show how it can be transfered to the efini 91(?) RX-7? That would be absolutely lovely, because I feel like I might have messed mine up, haha.
 
Im a noob in drifting. Appart from having a F/R car, i assume i need :

Traction Control off
Stability off
ABS ?
Tires ? Sport or comfort ? Hard or soft ?
 
Side note: I wish I owned a PS3 and GT5 so I can help you guys out already but I don't. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (S. Shigeno Ver.)

Parts: all stock except changed tires to Comfort-HARD (car comes with sports suspension and transmission already installed)
Tuning: NO TUNING, no modification to suspension settings.

using a DS3 controller:(

comments: the car comes stock with 206hp with no oil change:lol: car feels awesome to drift out of the box with NO changes to the suspension settings. Didn't even bother to overhaul or change oil on the car, took it straight to Tsukuba and it drifted excellent. Perfect car to learn on for DS3 controller users. Would imagine this car would be badazz with a G25/27 as you can use clutch techniques.

here's a video of myfirst 10 minutes with the Trueno, my line is kinda rough, little off with the shifting (not use to the powerband yet). I don't have enough money right now to overhaul the engine.


2nd video, little cleaner with the shifting, camera died at the last secion:grumpy:
 
I agree any one got Some FD settings I have been using it and toyin around with it a little but i have the slightest clue as to tuning one
