what wheel you got Jack? i need a new one myself and as it takes to much room in living room to set up (wife hates the thing) i end up using my pad.

I got the Fanatec CSR wheel & just got my new CSR Pedals today, what a big difference the pedals make, I wish all pedals felt like this.

Review for the roadster TC

BEFORE
First thoughts on this mazda roadster TC was really poor. I had high hopes because my 89 MX-5 is one of the best cars I have to drive. So when I started driving this one I found it was slow and was really hard to get a solid lap with how I drive and thought it was an insult to the MX-5 name. It was poorly geared, under steered, and just sucked.

AFTER
All of the roadsters bad habits are gone! The gears are spot on I don’t find myself wishing for a space in-between 2ND and 3RD gear, the weird under steer issues is gone as well, I can be stupid with corner entry speeds and it will not washout wide. Car is stable and handles perfectly.

FINAL THOUGHTS
This tune turned the roadster TC into the car it should have been stock. It’s now a weapon and a blast to drive. As for real numbers for gain the tune took 3.4 seconds off the lap time on cape ring original circuit.

Hi jack,

can you help me with the tune/gear settings for my Mclaren MP4 12C? i can put it on share for you or if you have it maybe we can swap tunes and discuss?

(i have to use a pad as my wife refuses to see me looking ridiculous with a ironing board (to rest the wheel) in the living room with pedals and threatened to wack the wheel of my head if i ruin her "living room furniture arrangement". Its a long story as her best friend and next door neighbour saw me sitting on a chair with a ironing board in the living room in front of the TV a few times at night and now they think i am a weird neighbour. So i have to use a pad for this)

lmao thats hilarious

Yeah If you put your car on share I will have a go, but the easiest way your could improve your transmission is this;
1) Reset to default.
2) Move the Final Drive all the way to the right.
3) Move the top speed all the way to the miniumin (Left)
4) Then lower the final drive so you get a top speed in the top right corner of what your after.
5) Adjust gear ratios to suit.

Thats a basic way to get all you gears as close as possible, after that you would just need to fine tune all the gears to keep you in the powerband. Try that above 1-4, if you still want help after that just send me a FR and I will try my best to give you a hand. Bear in mind i'm no expert when it comes to transmission, I only really started to fully understand it a few months ago.

Despite it very low weight it doesnt seem to be as quick off the line as it should.
At the moment the transmission is tuned for longer tracks, I may do a seperate transmission setup for shorter tracks if I can get the 0-60mph increased significantly.

Notes
Very Important
Apart from launch & 2nd gear, you must shift at 4000-4200 RPM in order to stay in the power band. After each shift, apart from 1st into 2nd, the needle needs to land on 3000RPM.
Trial & Error will be needed at first to find the right shifting points. But if you dont follow this rule you will lose a lot of speed and you lap times will be increased significantly.
Other than that the car handles great. Still a slight bit of oversteer when you need it for that extra bit of fun.

The Honda Fit, a compact family car equipped with a lively VTEC inline-4, tuned by Spoon to N1 Specifications.
Well we took the tuned inline-4 and tuned it up some more to produce over 180BHP. We even stripped it down some more and replaced everything we could with the lightest possible parts.
The suspension has been further tweaked to reduce understeer and front tyre wear and the 5-speed fully custom transmission specially tuned for Tsukuba Circuit, where its capable of sub 1 minute laps.

Here we are at Tsukuba 2000 full circuit testing out the new refined N1 Spoon Fit, I heard the hustler(Ichisama-San) was doing some tricks on this car. Haha(laughs like Tsuchiya), anyways let's get going! *GO* (comes back from testing) FAN-TAS-TIC!, this car is good! Cornering is just fabulous and feels great, I love how the gears match the course. The car has plenty of good torque. It's like the FF version of the Touge Maou S2000, I give this car 100 points. Perfect!

The Renault Lutecia, or as we know it the Clio. But this aint no normal Clio, oh no.
Here you have 2.0L DOHC inline-4 that produces 230 BHP and has a maximum torque of 25.0kgfm. That, Combined with the custom 6-speed close-ratio transmission and the race car-like suspension, this little hot hatch is a force to be reckoned with.

Yes. Very. Very. Bad oversteer.

Ok well if you want you can send the car over to me and i will see what I can do.

Dont think it will be to much of a problem, but I may not have time to get the car back to you straight away.

I used to get taken to school in one of these, but it was called a Mitsubishi Colt GX, so I have a soft spot for this car. We still have it today, although it is not roadworthy but could do for a nice project car.
Anyway this car really suprised me, I remember trying it when the game first came out and it handled like a bag of sh**e. I seen it pop up in the UCD and nearly didnt buy it, i'm glad I did though.
What we have here is a super lightweight hot hatch with a heavily modded 1.6L straight-4 DOHC MIVEC, which outputs a whopping 270bhp. The custom transmission is tuned for shorter tracks but can be easily adjusted for longer tracks just by changing the final drive.
The suspension and LSD ensure that all possible grip is maintained on those front tyres and I think it does it pretty well.
Take this car for a spin and show those Civic's and Integras who's boss!

I know many people arnt interested but I will share anyway;

My bad luck with cars.

1st car was a VW Beetle 1.8 turbo diesel, unlucky for me I parked it next to a car that was going to be involved in an arson attack.

Toyota MR2 Super Charger (400pp Comfort Softs Nurburgring)
Mazda Protege (450pp Sports Soft Short Track Setup)

lol, nice car photos!

I tried out your Shelby Series 1 tune - it's good! By that, I mean, I beat my old PB on my current test track Tokyo, by... 0.1 second :D

Ok, for a driver like me, I think this is more typical laptime variation than actual improvement. Some observations:

- Since I'm running it at 500pp with only the ECU engine upgrade, I think the transmission tuning won't work for me. I was able to input all the numbers, but in the end when I went to change the top speed using the final gear, I could only get it down to 187mph which is too high. On Tokyo, around 171-177mph seems to work best. Running it against my previous best ghost, I could immediately see it wasn't getting up to the same speed on the straight, and it wouldn't downshift on the turns like I'm used to.

- Previously I had my ride height at -10/-10. Using your -5/0, it felt like I'd lost a bit of grip.

- My LSD numbers were exactly the same :)

Anyway I dropped the suspension to -13/-8 and reset the transmission to default gearing, and left the rest of your suspension tune in place. Ran a few more laps and got my best time by -0.1.

My original suspension was:
-10/-10 7/5 5/4 5/3
1.0/0.5 0/0.20

So maybe too similar for a DS3 user like me to notice handling differences(?)

I should really learn how to tune the transmission properly, if there really are any extra fractions to squeeze out of that...

Hey Jack. Just wanna say i realy appriciate your tunes.
Actually most of my cars i do drive are tuned by you 👍👍
I realy love the Toyota 86 GT set up - made me go to the Finals of LOTS for the endurance king - a very good and balanced set up.

Realy looking forward to the MR2 set up. - for class Charlie - :)

Cheers and keep up the great work you are puting into your tune setups.

Btw - i am thinking of making a video review of a few of my cars tuned by you.

Thought you might like to know I used your tune in quite a few races online the other night. I was really liking the feel of the car! Anyway, this win came out of that session...
