How-To Use GTPlanet's GT5 Marketplace Forum - [MUST READ BEFORE USING THIS SUBFORUM]

Use our GT5 Marketplace forum to easily organize swaps and trades within GT5! Here's all you need to know to get started:

• If you have a car in mind that you want or need, create a new thread. Under the "Prefix" option, select "WANTED", and include an appropriately descriptive title. In your post, be sure to mention what you may be able to offer in exchange for the car you're looking for. Others will reply and hopefully you'll be able to work out a deal.
• If you have a car (or cars) you'd like to trade, create a new thread and select the "AVAILABLE" prefix with a descriptive title. If you have something interesting, others can reply to your thread with offers.
• Once your trade has been completed, please edit your post to select the "COMPLETED" prefix to indicate to others the offer is now closed. You can edit your prefix by clicking on the Edit button of the first post in the thread and, clicking "Go Advanced", and then selecting a different Prefix from the menu.

Please bear in mind that the Acceptable Use Policy applies in this forum just as much as every other place on the site.

This means you must use English to the best of your ability, including appropriate use of capitals (punctuation would be nice too, but we're not after miracles) and textspeak is banned:

Please also note that "bump" posts are utterly without merit and will be classed as spam, as will multiple consecutive posts from the same user ("double-posting"). Posts and threads will be removed if they fall foul of this.

Lastly, if you want to ask people for, or offer, actual money for an in-game car, this forum is not appropriate for that. Real-world transactions must take place in the Trading Post forum, and only GTPremium members may post threads there (though anyone may participate) in accordance with the rules of that forum.

You will NOT offer cash or ask for cash for ANY trade.

No cash, ergo:

-No Credit card information or billing;
-No PayPal;
-No Bank Transfers;
-No Checks;
-NO little green/yellow/red/blue notes of paper with denominations written on them.

Please report any member soliciting or offering real cash for virtual cars. Those offering cash will be given a warning. Those asking for cash will get a whopper of an infraction.

We also strongly recommend that you do not share your PSN account details with anyone.

UPDATE:
As many of you may know by now, the latest GT5 Patch allows for the backing up of game saves. This allows players to back up their games before enacting trades. Which means that they can recover cars lost through scams or server errors.

We STRONGLY encourage all members to do so. This is for your own protection.

ALSO, please note that if your first post does not show up immediately, posting 10 more copies of it WILL NOT HELP. You saw a little popup that said your first post must be approved by the moderators. It meant what it said. We will approve it as soon as possible. The best way to make that be sooner (rather than not at all) is to make sure it is posted in proper English as mentioned above.

In other words, something like "gotX2010 cf hit me up w wat u gimme 4 it" is not likely to get approved. So spend the extra nanoseconds to use capital letters, proper spelling, and punctuation.

Dear GTP-ers,

Now that GT5 has been out for a while and the marketplace has been available for two months, the moderators have conducted an informal internal review of the subforum, and we've decided to make a few policy changes that we think will be better-suited to the forums.

In the past, our policy has been for members to report bad trades to the moderators, but this will no longer be the case. I myself have received close to - and in all likelihood, over - one hundred reports of users deliberately carrying out bad trades. Although this represents only a tiny proportion of overall trades, it is a very disappointing statistic.

In response to this, the following changes are going to be made in the subforum: moderators will no longer be investigating reports of bad trades. These are simply too time-consuming, and yield very low results. Of the one hundred complaints I have received, only a handful of the accused have actually been on the receiving end of moderator action. As such, the policy for bad trades is changing: if you believe you have been the victim of a bad trade, then please use the Grief Reporting function on the PSN homepage. If you contact a moderator about someone who has been ripping you off in the Marketplace, you will be redirected to the the PSN site, or at least to this thread.

Please be aware that the rule regarding public accusations of wrongdoing is still in effect. Do not accuse anybody of improper conduct on these forums - even if you have evidence to substantiate you claims. Once again, we request that you use the grief reporting function on the PSN site. Anybody who does post an accusation on the forums will be met with severe moderator action, most likely a warning or an infraction. Even if you seem to think you are doing somebody a favour, you will receive a penalty for your actions. This is because all trades are entered into at your own risk. The moderators, administrators or the forums themselves cannot be held accountable if a trade does not go as you had planned.

UPDATE:
Okay, it seems that some people need reminding of this rule: do not publicly accuse someone of wrongdoing. Even if you believe you have undeinable evidence in support of your claims, you still may not accuse people. It only ever leads to infighting and flame wars, which usually lead to mass bans. Just because the moderators can ban people, it doesn't mean we want to. But don't doubt that we will if you leave us with no other option. Use the grief reporting function on the PSN homepage.

This ban on accusing people also applies to the report post function. Some people seem to think that it's entirely acceptable to use the report post function to report bad traders. So that there is no doubt in your minds, I will say this: it is still banned. I've just had to issue a flurry of warnings and infractions to people for doing just this overnight. Don't think that just because a reported post is between you and the moderators, it is okay to accuse others. Chances are that you'll be the one to be n the receiving end of moderator action for ignoring instructions.
