Why won't your PS3 let you make a new account?

Not sure.

Yes. You just need to know the login details. As far as I know, you would just add it as a profile, and then login.

I don't have access to the PS3 right now, so I can't give you a step by step. But I know it's possible.

I never got round to using my GTP_tomhart9 PSN account so I was unable to change my password on my PS3 after the downtime, meaning I have to do it via email. Stupidly I used a fake email address

So basically I no longer have access to that account.

What are my options if I want to join in the fun?

Do I need to set up a new GTP_ PSN and let someone know and ask them to change it?

Or do I need to do all my times ect again and go through it the proper way, just thinking I may get rejected after reading the rules "You can submit only ONCE"

If you have submitted a valid qualifier you can change the GTP tag if you want. At least that option was available to me when I originally qualified under another name and a few months later changed it to my current.

You can have us change your PSN ID in the registry, just send a PM to Vaxen.

Before you go to the trouble of doing that, you could also consider a couple of alternatives -

1. Contact Sony customer service, following the steps from their FAQ outlining what to do if you used a fake email

2. Register your fake email address, if it's from a real domain and available. I had an account that I had to do that for, and it worked fine. I just tried to sign in again with the account on PSN, which triggered another email from them.

Is my handicap in the Official GTP_registry correct?
I'm D2Silver with a handicap of 1.915

I went through this exact same thing a few weeks ago. Basically call customer service and advise them you need to change the email address because you no longer have access to that account. They will ask you for 5 friends on your friends list as a verification. After that it took about 24 hours for the email link to come through.

Make sure to give the registry your best effort so you will be placed in the correct division

Please note that Vaxen, who handles the new submissions, is currently on a well deserved vacation, so it may take a little longer before your submission is processed. But you can submit your run to Vax when you're ready.
