Well said Mitch, besides i'm pretty sure one of the mods has already threatened to close the thread if any more names are mentioned. While I think people should be named and shamed I also respect the fact that the rules state otherwise so I wont be mentioning the names of those who really anger me online!!

Just because 100 other have jumped off a cliff would you? Be a bit more mature and follow forum rules, report those other 100 for breaking the rules instead of following in their footsteps.

Plus, you were ramming this person because they were calling you names? That's just as bad!
Okay here is how this went. There were TEAMS OF 2. I TEAMED WITH THIS OTHER GUY BEFORE <removed> DID. One racer was CLEAN, and the other was DIRTY. I WAS DIRTY AND SO I WAS RAMMING HIM. You following so far? Then he says that he teamed with the other guy when he saw me team with him in the lobby. Some people on GTP really irritate me, like you.

Don't tell me to not post names if at least 100 other people posted names. Also You don't know this guy. He is a total disgrace to the GT5 community and he refuses to race against me.

Next time we see a name mentioned in here we will close down the thread.
Need we remind you of the following rule in the AUP.
•You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.
We have closed down "scammer call out" threads and threads similar to this one where a lot of negativity is spouted. They tend not to last as long as this one has. So tread carefully when posting folks, review your post prior to pressing the submit button.

Two moderators have stepped in and cleaned up several recent posts and we're sure there are more posts that violate too but we wont go through ± 900 posts for a cleanup.

We trust we will not see a third repeat (three times = Thread closed)

Um....This is the Gran Turismo forum not the Need for Speed one, you understand that right?

Here's a suggestion, don't let a video game get you so wound up. Playing childish games like that you have described is also a good way to get your blood boiling as it seems you have a short leash....instead of letting it make you lose control just leave the room? How hard is that?

I've been gaming online since 1999. I've seen just about everything from biased hosts to team killers to people who are just out to ruin other people's fun and everything else in-between.

For me, I never give those types of people the satisfaction of letting them think I care. If a host boots me because I'm beating him in a race, I just quietly move onto the next server with no messages or harsh words, knowing what really happened is the only thing that matters.

If I stop in a room that is biased and set up for a host to win, I say good for them. If that's what they need for their ego to be soothed, then who am I to say otherwise. I just move onto the next server.

If I am in a clean room full of dirty racers, then I quietly finish the race and move onto the next server.

If (insert "no joy" online experience here), then I just chalk it up to whatever it is and move on. I usually race with people on my friend's list, so I don't usually have to deal with this kind of stuff, but when I go into public servers, I do my best to follow the rules and if I'm not having fun, I just move onto the next server.

I honestly wish that more people in general would take your advice and apply it my biggest problem online is people who don't know how to deal with their anger without taking it out on other racers

Had a mixed bag this past Friday night - made some friends, got some cars traded online and had fun but also had the first bad online GT5 experience ever.

Was chatting with some folks about cars and some kid (I say "kid" because of his diction) started talking about his Mustang IRL being awesome and fast, etc. I asked legitimate questions because I was interested. He started bashing everyone else's cars in the discussion and then started saying some crazy stuff about his car that didn't make any sense. The final straw was when he posted "I had my car dino" which elicited plenty of lols from the room. I made a comment to it and left it alone. The guy left the room. A few hours later, I GOT PSN A MESSAGE that told me to reproduce myself - this was at like 1AM. That guy musta been real PO'ed.

Finally, I get into a room late that night and some guy from Mississippi ends up being the host after the original left. I myself am a southerner but this guy unfortunately played right into the streotype and was dropping N-bombs all over the place. He constantly kept running his mouth with a racist tirade, ramming into people, kept changing room parameters, etc.

I finally had enough, grabbed a NASCAR and rammed him into the walls pinning him frozen. To which he replied "Everybody say bye-bye to Aland18." Shame on me for sucumbbing to his level but is there a way to report him and the aforementioned person to PD, or Sony, or whatever?

I've obviously never needed to do this but what if these guys did this to a kid or something? If I were a parent, I'd be pretty upset.

I do remember their names if posting here is allowed.

When you're in the lobby of the room, you need to go over to the restrictions menu on the right, and then go up to the members' names. Then just select the one you want to report/friend/mute/whatever and a little menu comes down where you can do that.

Yes, but reporting people has no effect. Nobody at Sony/PD gives a damn about people being mean or racist online.

I don't know what Xbox Live is like. What I do know is that I've been reported many times and there's no affect. I'd assume the terms & conditions we've all agreed to state something along the lines of, "use online features are your own risk and if you get offended by somebodies comments, then your SOL".

I think on XBL there are some repercussions to excessive and prolonged behavior.

But if it isn't worth the trouble then I'll let it be. Just trying to to a good deed.

I will never be this good of a sport

Anyways, the worst I've dealt with online might have been this 500-600PP room. The track was Laguna Seca with 5 laps and the PP was at 580. I started the race in 6th and I was in 5th position I was coming towards the Corkscrew. I overshot the turn and my car went through gravel. When I tried to come onto the track the I accidentally hit the host . We both came up on the next corner after the Corkscrew, I was on the inside and he was on the outside. I let off the gas to try and make up for my mistake but the HOST tries to ram me off the road. I get back to the track much faster than he does. The host quits the race. I ran 2 more laps got into 2nd place and I get a message saying, "You were kicked out"

You are saying I can't control my anger? Dude I can control my anger very well, plus I am a respected racer and have raced many people who are in teams or from GTP. Also taking it out on other racers? You don't even know this kid. He starts to say a bunch of SH-- to me and I tell him to settle it with a 1v1 on Sarthe with no aids, because he used every aid except Active Steering during the championship, which indicates he sucks. He kept on stalling me meaning he refuses to race me. This guy is the exact reason why I hate the online play now. So many 10 year olds who are cocky as SH-- get their mic, start saying how they are good, but never actually settle it.

This folks is irony.

Why not just not play with those racers? Join rooms your friends are in instead of random rooms with ramming games like alot of us do and you'll find you'll enjoy online alot more.

And from your posts in this thread it does appear you have a short fuse, just sayin' it how I sees it.

I can't ever join their rooms because some person who isn't even on my friends list lags the room and I end up not being able to join at all.
