I'm just surprised at the sheer amount of Chrysalis fan art that's been made over the past day (I shouldn't be though, knowing how fast this fandom moves). It's an incredible amount really in such a short space of time.

It wasn't Daring Do. JJ drew one from Hearts and Hooves Day and uploaded it before the day is was on, seeing as the episode was leaked on iTunes a few days before, plus I think Mysticalpha also drew a piece before one of the episodes aired, but I'm not sure.

JJ's typical output, at least earlier in the season, was his first picture would be out within the first 30-60 minutes of the episode (usally much closer to the former than the latter), and his second would be somewhere between an hour and two hours after the first. Some of them he also bases on the stuff The Hub released in the days before the episode, but most of the time he focused on stuff that wasn't shown until the episode aired. So, superhuman, but not quite requiring a time machine.

As Greg said, the picture of Rainbow Dash reading a book without wearing very much clothing at all was done the night before.

Perhaps you're right, I'm just sure I remember an EQD post with a description something like "Before the episode even finishes? Damn." Or something.

But yeah you're probably right, I must just be losing my memory in my old age.

I never mentioned that one, but yeah. That JJ drawing was based entirely on the episode synopsis, so he just finished it before the episode was shown. Other artists seem to be following suit too.
