Raphaele was selected as the Judge's Choice winner last week, and he decided that this week ought to be a Graphics Week.

Beccosinho scored his first win by taking out the public vote, and the theme he has selected is Christmas Cards!

Further explanation of theme, which is chosen by Week 39 Winner, Beccosinho:

'Tis the season...

Christmas is upon us, so the theme Beccosinho has chosen for us is to take all our festive cheer, add a dash of GT5, and serve up our best Christmas Greetings Cards. That's it!

And remember... be creative and have fun!

  • Photoshop or another image editing program MUST be used.
  • Each entry must have some part from a Photomode picture from Gran Turismo 5.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
  • When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
  • A preview image is not only allowed, but encouraged! However, preview images can
    not exceed 500 pixels in either direction. This includes borders or drop shadow effects.
  • Winner of the public vote gets to choose the theme for the following week.
  • Public vote winners also get to select the top 12 entries for the poll the following week.
  • When selecting the top 12 entries the following week, the theme chooser will also select a
    "Judge's Choice" winner, the entry which they feel has best captured the theme.
  • The Judge's Choice winner gets to choose whether the following week will be either a
    Graphics Week or a Manipulation Week.
  • A graphics week will be primarily graphic design and layout based, for example magazine
    covers, or movie posters.
  • A manipulation week will be primarily based on photo manipulation, for example creating
    race cars in game, or making multi-car composites.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

Being a Photoshop competition, there are no limits on editing. Use every tool at your disposal to
create the desired effect. Feel free to utilise HDR techniques, photo stitching, whatever you like!
Your only real restriction is that you must use some part of a GT5 Photomode image!
The main thing to remember is to be creative and have fun!

I know it didn't link, I just gve you the preview. :P
What Flickr probably did was it can't handle semi-transparency. Your shadow is fuzzy and has 50% opacity some places, 40% others. Flickr can only handle "on" or "off". 100% opacity or 0%. So the places that was less than 100 and more than 0, it just increased the opacity until it reached 100. If that makes sense.
At least that's what I think.

EDIT: And why not link the preview to the full size? You got that one working!

Where did you take the photo of the Ford GT? The lighting's great!
 
It's from Kyoto - the street bit. The lighting suited the background really. Had to a bit of tweaking... but it's turned out ok.

Like yours mate - has a nice style to it.

hehe i tried something crazy here... well i had fun making it and it was a bit hard.. its not so great but xD well i did it for fun, i call its "SLR SnowMonster" and i put it on this christmas card :)​
 
after miklad's entry i decided to enter to amuse, rather than enter to win. this show has been pretty much left as-is, but it made me chuckle a small amount, hopefully it'll bring that christmas chuckle to you too!

Some really nice entries so far this week. Still missing all of the above with the exception of jonjwlee though.

Hehe, sorry 'bout that, was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the theme - couldn't find a base picture I really liked but the one I used is OK I guess. I'm sure you can trump that easy enough though, but Miklad's will be hard to beat.

i have alot of problems with my router since 1 month , got online today but my moden f*ucked it up again :/ i hope i can fix it soonish because i am missing GT5 soooo much

One of my older photos, I haven't had the time to re-edit it to fit the theme better, but I think its got a very 'xmassy' feel to it already :)
