Any of you who signed up for the interest check for the special event, but haven't yet confirmed your participation, can you hop over the the thread, click "Register Here" and then either confirm or cancel. It's 8 days away now and we need to get a better estimate of who exactly is going to participate.

If you aren't sure just select "Reserve" for now and please decide one way or the other by mid next week.

Not out of date... broken! I'll fix it. Thanks!

Edit: Fixed... the document wasn't handling case changes or trailing spaces correctly.

First I must thank Owens about 100 times over. The help with some of my lines and the push to change my screen stuff was a HUGE help and really showed tonight compared to my usual runs. I qualified over a second faster than any practice run I had. Just hit all my marks and focused on the lap. I know the starting order got messed up (in my favor of moving up to 2nd). Like predicted, it didn't take long for the cream to rise, but man was that a blast those first 2 laps running with you alien life forms. I haven't had a chance to check the replay but am pretty sure it was clean passing back and forth. Carracer, pretty sure I messed you up in turn 1 on lap 2. I just lost grip and had a poor line going in, sorry for that. I thank the rest of you very much for running like that those first 2 laps. I was extremely comfortable knowing I didn't have to worry about any of you making a mistake, which seemed to calm me down and stay pretty cool.

I'm gonna repeat what I said in the room: the race should be restarted when the grid is this messed up. "The cream will rise" is nice and all, until someone's race gets accidentally ruined by someone who's not supposed to be there. I did speak out right after the start but everyone ignored me. There should be a specific policy in place. Grid messed up = restart.

@ Trackbond^ You were right on pace, and you quaily lap was faster than mine
Great racing all, had fun.
The pit stops made stuff interesting, Had a mad battle with WRP for the win, it ended just before the line. I'm sure I broke a couple track boundaries, and hit a wall, but that last lap was still a 23.6 I think.
GR WRP, Wii, Sag, and track. The pace was very fast.
BTW, I thought I could have pulled a dive in the last chicane but, I see on the replay that would have been silly. I was still to far back.

I've run in 4 races since that last update and 3 of them had screwed up starting orders. I know there was an issue with the rain setting today, but I think PD did something to make the timing monitor more sensitive to things. If you and other drivers feels this way then there should be a policy because unfortunately I have a feeling we'll see more of these... hope I'm wrong. Someone would have to note the times/order before we start the race. And then what if it's screwed up at start? Quit the race, reset track, stage entry and start timer again? We certainly can't redo quali.

It was an awesome race. I just watched the entire replay and there was some great driving from quite a few. A few mistakes here and there myself included. Sag, I really appreciate you waiting when we had contact and I went off. I know it was accidental, but because you waited I could bump draft with you and get back in the race.

I'm still not sure how I made up the 6 seconds or so Sag and I fell behind Carracer and Wii. I think my pit crew may deserve credit for the win (or at least 4 seconds). That and sheer luck that I always had a draft partner. Worked with Sag until a couple sectors before my pit and came out right behind Carracer. Once carracer and I were together we made up ground really fast on wii who was by himself.

I crept out to a 1.5 second lead going into the last lap, but I couldn't hold off Carracer and it became a draft/drag fest. Wii fell just out of the draft as we bump drafted. Carracer pushed me the entire straight and then passed me just before the technical section which was a perfect setup. I got lucky when he went wide into grass on the exit of Arnage allowing me to get by, but not far enough to break the draft... at that point it was all about pushing it to the limit until the finish line... and then he almost passed me on the final chicane. A crazy dive there and he would have had me, but I don't think he could have pulled it off without contact, but like the stand up driver he is, he played nice and drove clean.

Also Brandon pushed me early to catch the lead pack. I started dead last after running a 4'45.003 quali lap which should have had me second and made up quite a few spots on the start, but there was still a good gap to the lead pack. Brandon and I worked together well for a lap or so... not sure where we lost you Brandon, but you were really fast that first lap or two.

Good luck to all who race tomorrow. I'll see you guys on track Tuesday if we do a practice race at Fuji.

For those interested, I am up for some sprint (4-5 lap) spec racing at Monza this week (using the recommended car garage...can play with a couple different cars and tire combos based on those who show up). I don't plan on running the WRS vs ORCA event this week, so for anyone else in the same boat please visit the following board that Brandon had set up for such discussion.

Mics are disabled so we couldn't hear you if you tried to speak up after the start. Your complaints are valid though and that generally is my policy. But last night I had no official record of the starting order since the timing monitor was broken. We discussed the situation before I started the race and the majority seemed to be in agreement that we just run the race, and I always go with the majority. FWIW, since it placed me on pole I pulled over in the first turn and let the bulk of the field get by me.

Not that it really matters but I was also incredibly tired last night and just wanted to get the race under way. I actually started to fall asleep on the back stretch during lap 8, went right through the sand in the second chicane. But I apologize for ruining your race.

Here are the results from last nights race. Sorry for the delay but I was asleep about 5 minutes after I left the room.

IIRC the wording was "we're gonna run with it if Wii is on pole and WRP 2nd."

I can't blame you. This screwed-up order only happened once before on my watch in this series. I saw this happen in a handful of other races, and few people who got screwed by the order were really upset afterwards, but with mics also disabled did not complain right after the start in fear of not being noticed. With more than one chance to race per week I thought I'd try to speak up. All I really want to come out of this - is a procedure for screwed up grid situations.

I think after we encountered this problem in FMSC, the host would write down the qualifying times and determine the grid order, then reset the track. Everyone would go to the pits and the host would call out the order, and everyone would leave the pits and park on the track in the correct order, then he would start the race. I don't recall having any problems after we starting doing this.

^ That's what we've done in the past and that's what my normal procedure would be. I did make comments to the effect that as long as Wii and WRP were up front we'd go with it, but that's not how the order was. The majority didn't seem too concerned about it and in the 3 seconds I had to make a decision I decided to just let it go, also partly because I was very tired. So it was my fault for choosing not to restart the race.

^So, how about smth like 'to object the gridding stay in place at the start and type "restart" right away' for a policy?

Because the game does a poor job of telling us our starting order, if somebody thinks they were 4th but start in 5th they could call for a restart even though they were probably supposed to be 5th. In my opinion the only situation that really calls for a restart is the horribly messed up grid we had last night, the host should be able to see this immediately (I knew I shouldn't be on pole) and will notify everyone of a restart. For partially personally reasons I chose not to do it last night and I apologize. This isn't an example of how things would normally be handled, it was an exception.

Trackbound, glad to be of some help!

Will be in for the 3pm race today.

Sorry I missed last night. Spent the evening out in the snow playing with 4x4. Put some big meaty tars on my Jeep yesterday and couldn't of asked for a better might to test them. Must say very impressive in the snow. Nitto Terra Grapplers 30.5x10.5. Had to keep it cool. These rub when articulating much. 3" Suspension lift be on this week. first time ever modding or lifting a 4x4. This could get expensive.

We got this road "we" call Rattle Snake Bend. Name came from some silly old B flick Movie on HBO. This Indian had names for everything like Bear Paw island, Buffalo Pass. LoL. So we found this road a day or so after watching that. Anyway. It has stop signs in both ends. However they are faded, almost not visible. Goes about 1/2 mile north then turns 90d left going back West for 1/2 mile. Nothing but holes and mud. Sweet road for playing offroad. Stop signs convince us it's a county road and not a farmers access.

I was the support vehicle for my Buddy. He couldn't pull me out if I got stuck. However I could pull him. So he goes first. He did 90% of the night in 2WD lol. Both have new A/T tires. Amazing what a new propper tire does. Had Mich A/T before they was terrible. No snow traction. The Nitto I was able to toss stuff out the center console punching it. Spun some but it ripped forward very well.

Ok had to share with my Alfa friends.

Chrome Rim- supposed to be. LoL leave it to a hillbilly to wheel a Jeep Overland. LMAO. We was enjoying the creature comforts as the old Jeep worked the trails.

I LOVE GRAND CHEROKEES!!!

I had some fun in the Mercury this morning. Learned that:

A. FWD drifting is possible.
B. I have the skill it takes to stall an automatic.
C. Drifting is more fun on GT5 than in reality.

Mmmmm E-brake?

Do you have a center style hand brake or a firewall mounted pedal?

Anyone with FWD and a pedal. Here is an awesome trick. Take a bungee or rope and tie the brake release open. Now the E brake pedal can be pumped an operated as you desire.

Lancer, wish you lived closer. We'd get you out and let you drift some RWD buddy.
