Hong Kong was British remember, not very communist.

You should see the cars that are popping up over the border in (still very Communist) China where they drive LHD cars... Insane.

A few panning shots from last week. Experimenting with some different techniques on PS. Nothing really special I'm afraid, but the matte RS was quite a surprise!

Just stumbled through this thread and felt excited and motivated.
A most entertaining and informative thread for me!
To keep you entertained, I like to post this Porsche 911 "Safari" I shot in September 2011 at the Hamburg Stadtpark Revival, Germany.
The car was carefully tuned up in style of the legendary Porsche 911 SC Safari 1978
and had some eye-catching details you might love or hate.
Please let me know if posts like this are an enrichment to the thread or not.

Certainly we are interested in this, but it should go in the Showroom/Event/Dealership thread. See in my signature, this thread should be real street spots.

One day the best I saw at lunch was a Subaru Vivio with racing modifications:

Tuesday coming back from the Gym this 458 in Bordeaux was on the way:

@Rue-Those are some gorgeous photos! That matte GT3 RS is quite interesting. I don't think that is a factory color, though I could be wrong.

Nice pics Rue. I'm really liking the 911 GT3RS in the matte red. Also that Yellow 458 with the black roof is rather nice.

Vince_Fiero. Subaru Vivio with race mods. Lol

So wait, can you explain whether someone can bring a LHD car into Hong Kong and drive it there, and how someone can get it registered with HK plates? I thought that it's not allowed, but I definitely saw a few LHD mainland cars with dual mainland and HK registrations.

It's a bit sketchy, but the simple answer is nope you cannot register a LHD car in Hong Kong. You can own one, but you cannot legally drive it on the road unless you are a registered dealer and it is going to point-of-sale. Some people risk it without being either but there is a good chance of being caught and fined.

The cars from the mainland you see here with dual China/HK plates are registered in 'special circumstances' - what that means, I have no idea. The Transport Dept. aren't very forthcoming with info.

Thanks for the feedback on the photos guys!

Just spotted an S5

And a week ago what I thought was an S5 aswell, but it looks different (2 exhaust instead of 4, and just an S on the badge).
Just an S-line or not?

Some time in Luxembourg, from what I remember a Ford Capri Rally car:

Sadly i had no time to take photos, i was driving at the time. But I came across an Audi A7 and then (this one REALLY surprised me) an Aston Martin Rapide...driven by a college kid at my community campus.

Very cool car! 👍

The other day I saw a new Chevy Caprice (Australia only) PPV spec outside my high school. In America. Still don't know why.

Anyone know what this could be? My dad saw it on Rocket City Rednecks last night at a junkyard. I was thinking Datsun?

Oh I know. It's actually been there for a few months, and before that were a couple different Model Ts. I actually past it twice a week, so it just becomes another house.

Ask friend to snap the GT-R crawling in traffic next to you; end up with beautifully focussed picture of a 2003 Renault Kangoo.

I'll let her take the wheel next time.

It looks like a Vauxhall Cavalier Sportshatch with a widebody kit.
5658336139_30e4757862.jpg

It sorta looks like it, but isn't if you look closely. No trim along the side and the roofline is close but not the right shape. Also I would have thought a Vauxhall Cavalier would be ultra scarce in the US? No idea what it is though, seems to have some weird-ass mods :)

Filling in some of the other blanks, the Triumph is of course a TR-7, the "rally car" looks like a Jetta?

I think it sorta looks like a widebodied Chevrolet Monza.

I think this is the likely culprit. The aspect ratio on the original image is incorrect. The car is actually a bit longer. Monza's were raced widebodied in IMSA back in the day (although they looked a little different to this) i think this is a bit of a half-arsed tribute to one.

I was about to mention the imsa involvment. Seems like everyone that owned a Monza put a widebody kit on these things..
