Hell yeah!
I'm tempted to buy the track before it's released, even though I don't need it yet because in a way it's one track but with over 10 different configurations!

I am not running the race, but it looks like it will be fun and could use more participation. So far it has 14 signed up. VIR is a hell of a track!

Yeah Daytona is one of my favorite tracks. It's way better than the GT5 version in every way. I am stoked Prototypes & Gt will be running it next season as well as Grand Am Rolex series

Was in a full grid race I think at Phillips Island. Right at Turn 1 half the field wrecks. I slammed on my brakes. I am told I was supposed to go around it on the grass. But didnt know that. Anyway I survive T1 but took a hit.

My poor HPD hobbled for bout 12 laps before I finally got taken out for good by another HPD.

Race was a disaster. My SR got totaled (-.30) but I gained a bunch of iRating. Go figure.

Atm it's 1167 iRating which is the highest its ever been on Road side. But lets see what happens at the next PI race

Note: video isn't mine but this was the pileup

Crispy Second Year at GTPlanet!
Wow! That's a massive pileup! Looks like someone rear ended one of the HPD's which caused it to hit the wall and wreck everyone.

There's always gotta be the oportunistic pass attempt, those are the ones that agravate the situation from a 2-3 car incident to taking out the whole field! The guys that did what they should've done got hit anyways by the ones that tried the oportunistic move... At least there's no SR hits under 10mph...

Sweeet, did pretty good in the next race right after that I earned some more iRating.

Problem!! I was holding 4th place but then my computer hitched and I went into the grass. I ended up finishing 7th place

I only have 2GB ram. I am thinking bout running over to FRY's electronics and upgrade to at least 4 GB ram. Anyone else gets the occasional hitch? I've really only seen this at Phillips Island and maybe SPA

I have a quad core computer (2.4hz), 2gb ram, and the nvidia geforce 560ti (1024mb ram).

iRacing barely use half my video ram so I am thinking it's gotta be system ram

Overclocking my cpu is an option as well.

RAM is extremely cheap right now. Go for 8GB just to be safe

I'd say buy 4gb of ram for right now. Then upgrade your motherboard and graphics card in March. I heard that things are going to be insane. Like 3GB graphics cards as a lower and things higher than that will be out too.

Are you monitoring your GPU temp? I was having some issues and turns out one of my card's fans wasn't spinning up or something. Watched GPU1 be 72C and the 2nd creep past 90C as the screen started to have some ghosting effects. Pulled into the pits (oh the realism! ), alt+tabbed, brought up Precision and jacked both fans to 100% (from a supposed 85%). Couple laps later I'm at 64C or so...Call it a radiator fan replacement. Haha. Still finished 8th or something, so better than losing a ton of iRating. That's been falling enough on its own lately.

So with these Daytona events coming up and knowing its going to be used a lot anyway, I'm thinking I will buy it, VIR, and the Mustang shortly to get the 10% discount.

As stated, RAM is inexpensive, so I would pop in an additional 4GB for good measure.

I just had my first oval race where someone didn't wreck before the pace car pulled off. We didn't make it a full lap though before about 5 people got taken out. I can't wait to get out of rookie and have some decent oval races. Is there a way to quick track out of rookie oval?

Drive slow, way outside of the normal driving line, and watch your rear-view mirror to avoid bad drivers coming in from behind.

Other than that, I can't think of any way.

thanks I installed up to 4gb ram now. Cant go over since I'm still windows 32-bit atm

Can we adjust that system memory load slider or should I leave it at default? Going past 1100 gives a warning

Run endless time trials by yourself? It's really, really boring though.

I have 8GB on a windows 7 64-bit system and I received the same warning. My guess is that that warning is unaware of how much RAM your system actually has and is displayed regardless by default. Crank it up!

Most people say turn it has high as you can until you start having problems, then dial it back down a little.

Thanks guys I will do that for sure then. Hoping my next big race will go smooth.

Ugh, someone posted another vid with my HPD in it. I'm the black & white stripped hpd. Notice the wreck. to give you guys some context my car was damaged from that pileup vid I posted earlier. So I was a lapped car and tried to move out the way to let faster hpds by:

edit: That vid got posted cause the white & green HPD that ran into all of us blamed the GT car for causing the wreck. Well something like that. So the GT car driver posted that clip.
