Any news or rumors about what series the CTS-V will race in? I like the idea of starting on large ovals first then moving to short tracks. I'll wait until S2 to start oval racing now. Hopefully there will be less of the chaos I hear about |

Nothing official yet, but you could expect it to run with the DP on the Grand Am series. But then again it is a World Challenge car and Grand Am pretty much is World Challenge's competitor... So who know's!!
I'd love to see it replace the Mustang on Grand Am and have a mixed series with the Mustang and Jetta as the Grand Touring Cup, but then again I love the MX5 in the Grand Touring Series! So many possibilities with that car! |

Part of the deal with Cadillac is if they were going to pay iRacing to develop it, the car had to be available to EVERYONE.
This means it will be included from now on when you start a membership. This also means one of two things (or maybe both): 1) It will be available straight out from the start (Rookie license 2.50 SR). 2) It will be like the F1 car and it will have a "FUN" series where anyone can drive, and then it will be further utilized in another series (MC, maybe it's own series, etc) I'm leaning more towards #2, because I think that a 500hp+ race car isn't the best for a rookie, but if Cadillac made that part of their terms, that is what will happen. |

1. your not going to have enough time if you want to be competitive. I spend pretty much the whole week in a Skip just learning the best lines and getting the best times. Unless you don't plan to go out, anything more than 2 series being competitive is overload. Depends how you want to approach if. Do you want to be just ok in comps then ok to race multiple cars. If you want to be no.1, concentrate on one series at a time 2. Once you pick a car, then proceed to purchase the tracks for it. With it being week 5 (i think), theres only about 7 tracks left. so go with that. I really really really don't suggest getting that many cars as you won't have enough time to race in them. I also won't suggest the Mustang as it does not have NTM at the moment. |

Only reason I'd advise buying a bunch of stuff at once is to take advantage of the 20% off. I'd drop Daytona circa 2007 pronto! I'd drop Iowa! Granted I have both Daytona & Iowa & Indy (and they're all awesome) but for starting out I wouldn't buy Ovals if I was strictly road. I personally run a little Oval so for me I get more mileage. But for a rookie roadie that's not the best option Focus on buying TRACKS and less on acquiring Cars. Buy all the road tracks you can. Ovals are absolute bottom priority. Buying CARS you cant drive in a series atm is not the best idea either. But it can give you a taste of speed. So I'd recommend buying at least one Class C+ car I bet you want to buy Iowa cause Star Mazda is running Iowa. But recognize no other road series running Iowa. SM may never run Iowa again. Don't do it! *Keep in mind it's the fans that vote for tracks they want. These are dedicated, seasoned vets that have all the tracks so on a whim they may choose to drop Iowa Have fun!

If the CTS-V is a World Challenge car, I believe it could run with the Mustang in some way because I read that the Mustang Challenge cars were incorporated into WC when the Mustang Challenge ended.

So how I understand the promo codes is, once you use one, that's it. I just used a 1 month for $5.
So all I have to do is create a new email and iracing account, but I can have all the same info (name, address, etc.) and I can use a promo code and have a whole new account w/ new stats and everything? And once that one month is up, does it charge another month or does it automatically deactivate? |

Having multiple accounts is against the rules.

I have a question about text chatting. The last race I did there were a few incidents and some drivers got quite angered. I saw some texts come on screen with things like "34 you are an idiot" or "Nice move 28". How can people drive and text at the same time? I read on the user guide about text chat, but I can't see how I could ever use it. There's no way I could drive and text at the same time. Do these people have a voice to text program or do they pull over and text or something else I haven't thought of?

I've always wondered the same thing. I'm quite shy on the mic, so I still type after the race (most of the time), but never figured out how these guys do it.

Same here! I could never text and drive. I know there must be some prgram or function to program certain texts like Thanks or pass left, and assign them to a single button or key, but I haven't yet discovered it!

Hi guys, got another rookie question here, does a rookie have to wait till the rookie promotion date to get promoted to another class or is there any other way for a faster promotion?
|
|
No need to wait, as long as you meet the number of races required for promotion you'll be automatically promoted any time you go over 3.99 SR.

My average is now 1.34 at mosport on the Skip. I know I have a 1.33 left in me. Pretty happy about this. But I am sure come the race someone will hit me. So... I shouldn't qualify right ?

Hey Swift, my theory for qualifing is to put in a time that is about your average lap time, otherwise you'll see 5 or 6 cars in front of you on the grid with a qualy time that is slower than your average, then you'll spend the first half the race trying to get around cars you should've been in front of to start with. But really just do what your most comfortable with
![]() And for the Text chat thing, I think I've seen peoples rigs with custom button boxes labeled 'sorry' and 'no problem' etc, but I'm no way near a level to understand how to get that to work . And I reckon some of them probably are good enough to text and drive
