NOTE: Please feel free to discuss, make suggestions, and add input to this guide.

When I get the chance, I'll add additional information, like how to unlock them, 'skin' choices, what real world cars do they resemble, or were 'inspired' by, etc.

First of all, the game has seven different classes of vehicles:
  1. Bikes
  2. ATVs
  3. Buggies
  4. Rally Cars
  5. Racing Trucks
  6. Mud Pluggers
  7. Big Rigs
There are a total of five vehicles for each class type:
  1. Bikes
    Code:
    1. Mohawk Indiana (WWII era Indian)
    2. Monarch Champ (70's Triumph)
    3. Wasabi Wildcat MX (unknown modern Japanese motorcross)
    4. Wulff Enduro (2006 KTM 660 LC4 Rally)
    5. Wasabi Twinblade (unknown Japanese twin engine or 2-stroke)
  2. ATVs
    Code:
    1. IBEX Bushfire (?)
    2. Molotov Stuuka (unknown Russian ATV)
    3. Wasabi Phoenix (unknown Japanese ATV)
    4. Mirage Caliano (?)
    5. Aztec Sabretooth (?)
  3. Buggies
    Code:
    1. Beelzebuggy Carabid (70's Baja Bug)
    2. Wombat Typhoon (Australian Meyers Manx Dune Buggy KC)
    3. Jester BXR (?)
    4. Voodoo Rattler (?)
    5. Jester Super BXR (?)
  4. Rally Cars
    Code:
    1. Patriot Surger (1969 Dodge Charger)
    2. Italia Gagliano (1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car)
    3. Patriot Renegade (NASCAR Cup Car)
    4. Ozutsu Ronin (Subaru Impreza Rally Car / Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Rally Car)
    5. Wulff Revo (1985 Porsche 959)
  5. Racing Trucks
    Code:
    1. Castro Robusto (1955 Chevy Pickup)
    2. Springbok Kalahari (?)
    3. Voodoo Iguana (?)
    4. Ozutsu Daiymo (Mitsubishi Pajero Evo Dakar)
    5. Italia Vulcan (1983 Ferrari 308 GTB Group B Michelotto) - should be a Rally Car
  6. Mud Pluggers
    Code:
    1. Mojave Slugger (70's Jeep Wrangler)
    2. Lunar-Tec Asylum (?)
    3. Patriot Bushwacker (1990 Chevrolet Silverado)
    4. Monarch Bulldog (Bowler Wildcat) - based on the Land Rover Defender
    5. Atlas Jackhammer (Hummer H1)
  7. Big Rigs
    Code:
    1. Castro Varadero (1955 Peterbuilt cab) - from Steven Spielberg's cult classic, Duel
    2. Molotov Drago (unkown Russian fire truck)
    3. Patriot Thunder (modern Peterbuilt cab)
    4. Nord Viking (unkown Norwegian Dakar service truck)
    5. Lunar-Tec Invader (?)
(pics and additional info on these vehicles is listed in the posts below)

For each vehicle, you have a choice of three different "skins" (color/decal schemes and drivers), which you can view by pressing the 'up' or 'down' D-pad buttons. To see pics of these different skins, scroll down to the post below that includes pics of those vehicles.

When the game starts, you only have access to the first two vehicles in each class. The more you progress in single player mode, the more vehicles you will unlock.

IMPORTANT: When playing online, you will only have access to the cars you started with and the ones you have unlocked. Also, you cannot unlock any cars from playing online. This can only be done by progressing through the game and collecting points.

Performance Differences Among Vehicle Classes

Many people keep asking how each of these vehicles perform compared to the others. Well, as far as I can tell, none of the cars within a class type perform differently, but there are obvious differences between class types. Much has been speculated about these differences, but it appears we now have some confirmed information directly from Sony.

On Sony's official Japanese website for MotorStorm, they include information on the performance stats for each class type.

Thanks, pictures are coming back, with more this time.

For now, I had to re-do how this thread was laid out, as there is a limit to the number of pics and number of charcters you can have in one post.

For the time being, I did add performance stats for all the vehicles to keep you busy.

Take your time...I don't have a PS3 yet anyway so you can tidy it up until then. I put a self-imposed goal of finishing the remodel of my basement before I buy one. My wife also has hung a HDTV reward in front of me for extra incentive. When that time comes I plan on asking some advice from you on what tv you think might be the best for me. I believe that I get to spend up around 4 G's so I think I can get one BANG-UP set for that. Stay tuned for details.
