well,I've seen the whole series before,well worth watching =D.here's the best summary I can give you,so any parts that I leave out,anybody please feel free to fill in the blanks,so..here goes -----

A guy named Takumi,about the age of 19,helps his dad with his Fujiwara tofu shop.He helps delivering it to this guy that lives in a hotel that's down through a mountain pass,and he delivers it to him every day somewhere around 4:00 to 5:00 in the morning.well,the car he delivers the tofu with happens to be a Trueno,or otherly known as,the AE86.well,you'd figure driving back and forth through a mountain pass,he'd get bored,so he'd try something else while driving,and so...he did.so little did Takumi know,on his trips to delivering tofu to this guy,then coming back home..on his way home,he was drifting ^_^.I guess he just thought it was the easiest way to get home,but it was also fun..hehe.well,anyways..he works part-time at a gas station with his friends Iketani,Itsuki (best friend),and Kenji.His friends are into drifting and the AE86 a lot,but what Takumi doesn't know is that he's actually driving an AE86!he believes it's a Trueno,just cause of the emblem on the grill.well,anyways,word passes around about his (well,it's not really his..it's his dad's car) AE86,and someone from this racing team doesn't think of it as good as Takumi's friends say it is,so they decide to race at a mountain close by called "Mount Akina".I'm not going to spoil anything,but I'll just give you the quote that Tokyopop gives in the back of their Manga to advertise Initial D.."From 0 to Legend in 60 seconds"!and as you can probably figure..Takumi is the legend.well,for some of the information I left out,like name's wise..here's some...Bunta is Takumi's father,he's kinda mean sometimes,but he makes it funny =D.then ya got Bunta's friend,damn..forgot his name -_-..but he's the manager of the gas station..Bunta and him go waaaay back ^_^,they used to race.well,for a better summary,since I'm not ALL that great with summaries,then hopefully somebody else will give ya a good one too =D!but the main thing about Initial D is drifting!in case you didn't know..drifting is the main subject in Initial D,along with comedy!it's got some pretty damn funny parts in there!hehehe =D,for all of you that have seen it,I'm referring to the "it's like Chocolate and sh*t" situation where everybody was laughing!hehehe,you have to admit though,that was pretty funny =D.well,for an overall rating for this anime,out of 10,I give it an 11!it's got some awsome music with the series as well!well,I think so anyways!but hey,I don't have over 300 Initial D songs (yes,that's with remixes as well) for nothin',hehe!oh,one more thing..just in case you didn't know,the racing is CG animation,or so I heard =P,either way,I thought it looked awsome!but maybe that's cause it was the first racing anime I ever saw..now I'm workin' on Ex-Driver

P.S. sorry this was soooo long,but I hope it helped some!go download the first episode!you probably won't start ACTUALLY liking it till the 4th to 5th episode,but just go download the 1st episode of First Stage!ah yes,I forgot to mention..there's different sections of the anime,such as sequels...here's the layout ----

First Stage - episodes 1 - 26
Second Stage - 1 - 13 (but don't worry,it still continues with the series)
Third Stage - the movie!
Extra Stage - an individual movie for these two racers named Mako & Sayuki that drive this car known as the Sil-Eighty!don't worry,you'll know more about them later
Battle Stage - remake of all the races that were in First,Second,and Third Stage (was the Third Stage races in there as well?I think so,but I'm not for certain) and there's kinda like one more race you never get to see in the series that's actually quite interesting =D

Impact Blue? - Mako and Sayuki (I think that's the name of their team)
Lightning - ???? don't worry,it's a faggot team that you only get to see twice,and they suck anyways...one of the guys from that team almost get ran over,hehe!
Racing Team Akagi? - Ryosuke,Keisuke,Kenta?,Takumi (I think that's what Ryouske called that team in the movie ^_^,sorry,my memory is kinda dull,but I'm gonna watch Third Stage on Christmas,hehe,isn't it obvious why?

i read something about Takumi's AE86 having a Suzuki engine...any truth to that?

hmmm...not too sure about that one,but the "other" AE86 is said to have a 4AG-ZE engine inside of it ^_^.it pushes at least 215 HP!that's the engines that they install into the new Truenos today =D.I believe the newest one is the AE113,but not too sure,haven't seen any updates in a couple of weeks,but it is a racing engine from Group A,that's all I remember ^_^

and...... AE, the group that you said included the 2 bros n takumi is.... project D if not mistaken... i don't know...... havne't watched it in a LOOONG time now..

Takumi, Ryosuke, and Keisuke are in Project D Kenta aint good enuf. He said the purpose of Project D was to find the best in the Gunma area, possibly to fend off attacks from people like Emperor. At the end of Second Stage they are talking about it, and there are actually tryouts! I saw a red Supra racing a blue Miata while they were talking!

Actually, drifting isn't the main theme of Initial D, but it's the story of a teenage boy (main anime theme going here) who has unheard-of talent, and the son of a master, and what happens when his powers are unleashed. It just so happens that drifting is the best technique to get down those mountains! Plus, I think he got bored of drifting, even, and he just pushed it to finish his job faster, and his technique just went on from there.

On the Suzuki engine, the guy actually says (well, in the subtitles, at least, something like "Suzuki Motors Engine, whoa").

Where do you download it? It sounds really

I downloaded mine off of Kazaa ^_^,or another good place to download some anime is on Direct Connect,but most of the time you have to share like 8 to 10,maybe even over 15 Gigabytes of space in order to enter some of the chatrooms (well,they call them hubs,but I just wanted to use the name chatrooms cause you may have not known what a hub was) well,PM for more information Illegal =D
