. I wish we were eligible, even though I currently have no license or even a wheel at this point I am regularly in the top 500 in seasonal's and top 800's so far for GT-A. My wheel should be here next month but I highly doubt I'll be used to it before the end.
Other than that it would be great if all countries could compete but I bet all left out are for political reasons. There would be no logical reasons for Nissan to pass up on a great driver just because they are Canadian. Remember though only 15 countries are included, which means we are only one of the 181 countries left out. I think Japan is left out as well, if anyone should be mad its them.

It has something to do with claiming prizes outside your area of residence, which is Canada for us. We can't claim prizes from outside the country. I think this has something to to with trade agreements with other countries.
The only way around this, is to have residency where the prize originates. For example, Canadians couldn't go to the states and win their lottary, we have to live there to claim.

Actually Canadians can go to the states and play the lotto, as well as any other type of gambling that has a potential payout. I in no way think im good enough to qualify for GT-A finals but it would be nice to see my country represented.

You can play the lotto but can't claim anything. The fist time ever where we were allowed to play and claim was a month ago, the Mega millions or something like that, it was on the news. We can claim casino winnings up to a certain amount per day ($3000? can't remember exactly), the US governenent takes a huge percentage from it, from that point, up.
We're even excluded from online/internet contests for this reason.

You know, this is very unfortunate for the residents of Canada. I know and have raced with some very good drivers from Canada. I think they deserve a shot at this aswell. Its a shame you guys arn't allowed to compete.

519 is the area code not sure why the "and we are not 519... loll we are 8 millions on the 34 millions of the Canada" comment. I only know a few people from Quebec in my personal life and all of them hail from Chateauguay, nice people. One's I met in Montreal different story but that was just the usual big city annoyances there.

Ron Fellows,Paul Tracey, Roberts Wickens,Greg Moore and some others I have forgot.Who doesn't beat MGD AMP and the rest of them.You are actually bragging that you beat them.OGR are usually pretty good guys and yes I have raced with you guys too.Pretty sad if you say your getting beaten by a drunken guy from Ontario,cause that's usually what happens when you come in Jactors or Monkeys rooms.Just stating a fact my friend cause we routinely beat you guys.

OK guys I was being sarcastic and a little of a *(richard)* given the bad wrap french people get in and from other Canadians. Im half french, and proud of it. My first post was not to be taken seriously.
As for the lotto.... I'm not sure about the prize limit but I know people who have played the lotto for years in Michigan, I also know people who play in poker tournys. I know the daily limit to cross the border without claming it is 10K.

Exactly. The latest big name Quebec bred (although French born) driver is Bruno Spengler who's driving in the DTM series for BMW.

Really add Tags and Carpentier total wins in Izod and Indy and see who was a better driver them or Tracey.
Lets see Tags has a big fat zero wins in Indy or Izod.
Carpentier has 5 wins in both series.
Lets see Tracey has 31 wins in Cart a Championship and was one of the best go cart drivers ever to come out Canada.
Get your facts straight.
Ron Fellows is probably the best Road Course driver in North America in any car.
As for Moore a tragedy and would have been the best of them all.

Robert Wickens is actually from my home town of Guelph Ontario and is next in line for an F1 ride my friends,he went to school with my son.He now lists Toronto as his home town.

hah, I wasn't serious. I love and adore Canada and Canadians. Some of my favorite people and most of my favorite music (Emily Haines, Arcade Fire, The Dears, Switch Step, Metric, Death From Above '79 to name a few).
I also happened to've encountered some of the fastest drivers around in GT5 and a lot (unproportianately so) are Canucks. So if they were allowed to compete, we'd have quite a contender going in for sure.
