Wait, aren't there already several other threads dedicated to making replicas? Well, yes, there are, but this thread is different. Other threads focus on making on exciting, fire-breathing tuner specials and factory monsters, and I respect that. I've even made a few tunes for another replica thread. But the majority of replicas I make aren't released, because they're just normal cars, and I think that'd clutter up the other replica threads. So, if you like cheap and cheerful ordinary car replicas, this thread's a gold mine. Feel free to post your own replicas here, too.

A nice, well-rounded diesel 3-Series, with just enough power and torque to be quick, but not enough to get you into serious trouble. Makes a nice companion to the BMW 120d, the only other diesel BMW, and the only other diesel in the game for that matter. A very well-suited highway cruiser, more than capable of soaking up hundreds of virtual miles in style and comfort.

A solid competitor to the BMW 325d. While it doesn't have the drama and the sensation of the Beemer, the Audi is still a force to be reckoned with in the corners, with sticky, grippy handling that inspires confidence. It's not a straightaway stormer, but with 0 to 60 in 7.7 seconds, it's respectable in its own way. Shift at around 5000-5500 RPM for the most realistic driving experience.

Sounds doable, though you can only get 90% of the power to the rear wheels, so that's the only compromise. I'll look into that after I post the replica I'm working on. 👍

A pretty well-rounded wagon. Handles nicely, accelerate well, and brakes well. Does great on dirt, especially good on snow. Also makes a good cruiser, with smooth acceleration and enough power to overtake with ease, though, you will have to get the revs up to do so. Overall, a great wagon.

Comments:

When most people think of the Skyline, they think of the big and brawny beast that the GT-R is. Only few know of the GT-R's little brother, the GTS, which is quite a good car itself. Whereas the high-tech GT-R is the bourgeois, the proletarian GTS is all about simple fun. It prefers to slide around corners rather than stick to them, and unlike its big brother, this Skyline's got a personality; a good one at that. A great handling car, though there is some understeer, but nothing the handbrake can't fix.

Good morning Sir,

I liked the replicas you've made and posted in ich122's thread.
Good I found this thread now, as I also often favor the more different (normal) replica cars.
The smooth cruise around the ring, in a car that goes 120km/h is just lovely!!

Keep up the work, and if you don't mind...I will add these to my database :)

Cheers

Yeah mate np, I love normal replicas...

The day I started to collect replicas somebody asked me what my aim was...
I replied that I expected to get about 20 replicas ....
Until then, I never looked for replicas in the tuning thread.
And right now we passed the 500 barrier :-)

And with these 4 new ones, and more showing up all the time...we have NO end in sight. :)
Good though, because we have NO idea how long it takes before we can start all over again from scratch with GT6 :scared:

This replica wasn't made to pose as a different version of an existing car, rather, this was made to correct the wrong specifications of the Lexus GS300 in the game. The power, weight, and transmission now reflect real-life specs. Acceleration is obviously slower, but thanks to the nicely spaced gears, it still feels quick and tossable in the corners, probably more tossable than the regular GS300 in the game, too. Overall, it's still a great car, but now it has the right specs, too.

Comments:

Not quite unique-enough to warrant its own post, as it's really not all that different from the GS300 provided in the game. The GS430 benefits from a smoother, though not as responsive, V8, and more relaxed mannerisms. Whereas the GS300 I made is a full-fledged sports sedan, this is a dedicated highway cruiser, easily capable of absorbing thousands of miles in isolated comfort, like a Lexus should.

Very nice ride in the snow dude, one quick question...how did you come to set the gear ratios?

Typically I set the top speed first, then the individual gears, then the final gear.
Hope this works for you. 👍

Yeah, I did that and couldn't match up the lower gears. The best I could get was set top speed at 155, and then only 4th and 5th were a touch out. Never mind, it did the job. A nice ride, and I like the concept of doing your average cars. 👍

Comments:

The Audi Allroad's the car you buy when you're too good to be seen in a Subaru Outback, don't want the Volvo XC70 that everyone else has, and you think SUVs are preposterous. This is a very practical car; it's great on the highway, in the bends, on the dirt, and remarkably so on the snow. A great alternative to the other wagons in the game.

Yay, you've made a replica thread! Where do you get your info for the normal cars? (Pro Tuners are easier to find IMO).

I check a number of websites. One website I like to use for detailed specs is Automobile-Catalog. If I'm having trouble finding specs, for instance, transmission ratios can be hard to find, I either just do a search and get information off a small site, or I'll just make up some realistic gear ratios myself. I also use Inside Line and Supercars.net.

I apologize for the sudden lack of posts for the past couple of days. School's started again and right now, it's using up nearly all of my energy. But I'm aiming to crank out some more replicas this weekend when I feel more up to it. :P

A nice little diesel hatchback with enough power for town, and enough to eventually get up to highway speeds. Just don't take it over 90 mph, it struggles at those speeds. It handles nicely and turns on a dime, overall, it's a fun little hatchback. Shift at 5000 RPM for the most realistic driving experience.

I like this car, I really do. Despite its 9.8 second 0 to 60 time, and its rather porky (by GT standards) 1545 kg weight, I find it to be surprisingly fast. It handles decently by sedan standards, though it obviously won't outrun your neighbor's Accord or your cousin's Jetta on a curvy road. Power from the oil-burning four pot comes on smooth and steadily, making 85 mph cruising effortless and virtually silent. Shift at 4500 RPM to keep the realistic Diesel driving experience.

Ever looked at the regular Japanese market Odyssey and said: Gee, I sure wish I could drive a 'Murican minivan. Well actually, I said that, and I've answered my prayers with the US Market Honda Odyssey. It's acceleration isn't blazing, but it has plenty of power to cruise comfortably on the highway. It's certainly no sports car in the curves, but what 4000 lb minivan is? There is some understeer, no oversteer that I know of, and the handling is very stable overall. A very nice minivan for those who want to have something a little different.

One of the very last rear wheel drive American boulevard cruisers, before GM became fascinated with front wheel drive. This car is not fast by any means; its 143 carburated horses of anything but fury eventually pull the car up to highway speeds, but when its there, cruising at low RPMs is entirely possible, with adequate passing-power. It doesn't really handle though, plowing through corners, wallowing in curves, and getting lost in the twisties. But use this car for its purpose, and it'll shine.

Comments:

A nice, comfortable diesel sedan for the commute. Power from the six cylinder engine is ample, and torque comes on smoothly. Handling is good, though not necessarily sporty, but that's not this Merc's purpose. A great car for cruising on the highway, absorbing hundreds upon hundreds of miles in isolated, quiet comfort. Shift at 5000 RPM for the most realistic diesel driving experience.
Also, leave it to Mercedes-Benz to label a three liter diesel as a C350. Gotta love the logic in that. :dunce:

Holy turbo lag this thing's quick...once the turbo decides to come to the party, that is. Before, you press the gas, and nothing much happens. But then, the turbo shows up, and the party starts. The car gets a mighty kick in the pants and redlines, accelerating like a bat out of Sweden. Then, a corner comes, and the little Volvo sticks to the asphalt. Even when you don't think it can stick anymore, it sticks, even enough to shred up the pavement. It's a GT-R kind of grip. Braking is strong, and overall, the car is easy to drive fast, and that's what it likes to do. It can cruise to, hovering around the 2000 RPM mark at higher speeds, with just a low growl from the exhausts. If you push it to the limit, you can find understeer, but the other 95% of the time, this is the Volvo that could.

A very fun, tossable little hot hatch that loves to grip and stick to corners, and loves to go fast. Makes a decent cruiser, too, but really, this car's for taking the long way to your destination. And in this car, it's well worth the trip.

None of these 3 replicas are unique enough to get their own post, so, as I did with the Lexus GS duo, they've been combined into a single post, or in this case, a combo pack. Features the 4 cylinder Turbo, 3 cylinder Turbo, and the 4 cylinder Diesel versions of the 2012 Ford Focus, all for the low, low price of 19.95. Offer valid while supplies last. :sly:

This Focus is the every-man's Focus. Accelerates very nicely when merging onto crowded highways, and can overtake others with authority. Has a very diesel-like power curve in mid RPMs, making triple digit cruising quite easy, if your right foot is antsy enough. Handles great too, and loves to stick to the road. Especially fun on the Porsche Curves at La Sarthe. Overall, a fantastic hatchback, worthy enough of making every one else on the street quite jealous.

Comments:

The 1.6 Focus is the oldest, most well-rounded child in the family, and the 1.0 is the loud and proud little brother. Where does the Diesel Focus fit in? Right in the middle. The most well-mannered of its siblings, the 2.0 Focus excels at cruising, though preferably at lower speeds. It handles nicely, and makes a nice car on the twisties, but really, this Focus prefers the commute, and it does it very well. Power is good, though not ample, but can get you on the highway safely, and enough to overtake slower-moving cars. Overall, a nice hatchback that serves as a neutral, but still very good, alternative to it's petrol-powered siblings.

Comments:

Whereas the the 4-Pot Focuses are more mature and laid back, the little brother of the Focus family loves to make lots of noise and go around corners, kind of like the ST. The difference is, while this fiery 3-Pot may be determined, it doesn't actually move very much, but that's alright, because it's still a pleasant drive. Cruises fine, though a bit loud, at 80 mph, but doesn't do well about 95. Handles briskly, thanks to its lack of weight, and it's comfort medium tires mean that it can overpower its tires, making for more fun. A great little hatchback.
