1st Place optiongamers FIS/Ferrari
Q: Some critics might say you shouldnt have won the last two races. What do you have to say to them in return?
optiongamers: Racing accidents always happen and you have to use these mistakes to your advantage when they happen.
Q: Interestingly enough Frizbe was on a 2 stop strategy and managed to make it work. Do you still feel 1 stop was the best way to go?
optiongamers: No 2 stop was better.
Q: What is the secret to your car being so fast?
optiongamers: It's a secret.
Q: Do you want to win the next race or are you just looking to clinch the title?
optiongamers: Get the title.
2nd Place Jahgee1124 FIS/Porsche
Q: You started 2nd and finished 2nd. Mission accomplished or did you expect more or less?
Jahgee1124: Mission for me from Silverstone on has been to win, so while a 2nd is nice, I'm still only the 1st loser
Q: Are you the fastest Porsche in the field? If not who is?
Jahgee1124: Considering 1/2 the podiums scored by Porsche have been by me, and outside of my 3 DNF's my lowest finish has been 9th, I'd say yes, even if the points don't say so. Besides, if you don't think you're the best yourself, then who will
Q: Do you feel that the Porsche engine is in any way holding you back?
Jahgee1124: It's the
to my
, if you want solid finishes but almost never contending for wins, then the Porsche is for you.
Q: Would you rather win at the Nurburgring or in Fuji?
Jahgee1124: Fuji, Nurburgring is what I'd consider a Medium speed track, where as Fuji is a High Speed track. If I could win at a High speed track with an engine that isn't the highest on power, then I think it would be a fitting way to end of S2
.
3rd Place pezzarinho17 FIS/Honda
Q: Do you have any idea why exactly your car fell like a rock after the start?
pezzarinho17: Put simply, we qualified way out of position. I should have been in the midfield, but Vandoorne did an exceptional job at getting his actual lap time close to the cars ideal lap time. We had been struggling all weekend with a car that favours corners over long straights, so we were very shocked to see we had claimed pole position. We made some changes to try to take advantage of our fortune and it just wasn't enough to stop us falling back through the pack.
Q: You've said your goal for the last 2 races is to finish 2nd in the standings. Do you feel engine choice handicapped your ability to win the title this season?
pezzarinho17: Definitely not, a look at the engine manufacturer championship will show that the Honda engine this season has been the best choice. What has ultimately put pay to our championship so far this season has been the retirements suffered from strong positions. The same could be said for fellow Honda powered team, Peasantslayer. We've been closely matched all season and have lost out when battling between ourselves for the top 2 positions. But for those retirements, I think it would have been a Honda championship sweep.
Q: Is being a big part of Honda almost locking up the engine manufacturer championship in any way a consolation prize?
pezzarinho17: Well taking the Manufacturers championship, finishing runner up and highest Honda powered team certainly wouldn't be a bad Formula B Spec Season! It has been a real team effort on that front, and it is real vindication to see the Honda logo regularly dominating the top of the timesheets. It certainly hasn't been overlooked by ourselves, and you'll see a special tribute livery to all of Honda's hard work this season at the season finale on their home soil.
Q: Is there any chance at all you can still win the title?
pezzarinho17: Mathematically, yes. When you look at the reality though, 42 points is a large deficit to overcome in just 2 races. We will have to win at least 1 of those remaining races, finish 1st or 2nd in the other and hope that OptionGamers doesn't pick up more than 18 points. A retirement for him in one of those races would give us a glimmer of hope and it is feasible in motor racing, but it is too big an ask for everything to play into our favour. Unless our fellow Honda runners want to talk to us about team orders, our motorhome door is open!
