International Touring Car Championship; Season 3!

Have you ever wondered what it would've been like, if the Super Touring Car Championships of the '90s, like DTM, the Italian Touring Car Championship, and the International Touring Championship were combined, in a modern, high-paced racing series from around the world? Well, look no further! This series combines a host of touring car favourites, from the Canadian Touring Car Championship, Swedish Touring Car Championship, Pirelli World Challenge, Italian Touring Car Championship, Irish Touring Car Championship, British Touring Car Championship and the World Touring Car Championship.

It's all combined to make the racing as fun as possible!

ITCC Official Rules and Regulations, Season 3: Fall 2013

Introduction:

This rulebook serves the sole purpose of being the basis of all ITCC Supplementary Rules and Regulations during races. It is not intended for the purpose of ensuring that conflicts do not occur. Instead, this rulebook will settle any and all potential disputes. It is for official use only, though it is recommended that drivers read and understand Sections 2-6 before competing. It is also advisable that drivers read Sections 7 and 8, in case of necessity of Complaint or Appeal only. It is entirely necessary for all competitors to read Sections 1 and 9, as failure to comply with the regulations in Section 1 will result in a penalty, and the rules laid out in Section 9 are finalized, permanent, and official procedure! Lastly, it is of utmost importance that every driver reads and understands both the GTPlanet.net Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and Online League Rules (OLRs.) Failure to comply with any of the aforementioned rules, whether they're made by ITCC Officials or GTPlanet.net Staff will result in penalties or infractions.

Series Introduction:

This Racing Series is intended to be a fun way for friends to meet, have fun, and mainly race together. Therefore, the Spirit and Intent of this series is purely fun. The main rule, therefore, is just to enjoy racing here. The Series Director and Race Director are best friends, and the racing here is meant to be a fun way to keep in touch. Anyone who doesn't have the same Spirit of Intent, and does not follow these regulations is subject to the resulting penalties. Please, for everyone's enjoyment, have fun, race clean, and ensure that everyone is smiling at the end of the race.

Official ITCC Racecraft Expectations
This is a list of ITCC-specific Racecraft Expectations. As the name implies, all drivers are expected to follow these as official rules.
Official ITCC Racecraft Expectations
  • All drivers must brake earlier than the car in front, when following closely behind
  • All drivers must ensure that room is given, to allow a fellow competitor to stay on the track, without contact
  • Swerving on a straightaway to prohibit passing may only occur once
  • Subsequently, a driver may re-align for a braking zone.
  • Brake-checking is expressly prohibited
  • Dive-bombing is intentionally braking too late, for a corner, in an attempt to pass, by "diving" to the inside of the correct racing line before the corner. This must NOT happen under any circumstances.
  • Any intentional drifting, sliding, or fancy driving is expressly disallowed.
  • Horn use during the start of the race is disallowed for everyone excluding the Series Director; The Series Director will use the horn to signal the "Countdown" during the standing starts

8: Official Appeal System

8.1: -In the case of a wish to appeal a ruling, Judgement of Fact, or a Steward's decision, the appealing party shall contact the Series Director, fully outlining the reason(s) why the appeal should be considered.
8.2: -Without a reason why the appeal should be considered, the ruling, Judgement of Fact, or Steward's decision will not be reconsidered.

9: Official Disconnect Procedure

9.1: -all drivers who disconnect from the lobby must attempt to rejoin the lobby. That is first priority. Upon the failure of the second attempt to rejoin, the disconnected driver must message the Series Director with "disconnect" as a message title. The driver may then re-try to connect, reset the router, or simply retire from that day's racing.
9.2: -the Series Director will make no schedule changes for disconnects, unless otherwise specified, in Section 10.3.
9.3: -There must always be at least one series representative, steward, or the Series Director, present for any racing.

10: Teams Championship

10.1: -All drivers will be given the choice to be placed on a team of their choice.
10.2: -There will be "factory" teams, and "privateer" teams.
10.3: -Factory teams will be comprised of ITCC drivers from previous seasons.
10.4: -Privateer teams are expected to be slightly slower, but still have a great shot at winning.
10.5: -Team championships will be scored separately for privateer and factory teams. Therefore, there are two team championships!

9829766896_1ce412d0be_o.jpg

11: ITCC Rising Star

11.1: -One Driver from each country, who is below the age of 18, may battle for the ITCC Rising Star Championship.
11.2: -Entrants to ITCC Rising Star are considered on a "first-to-come, first-to-race" basis.
11.3: -The scoring for ITCC Rising Star Championship is run via average points per round at the end of the season.
11.4: -Penalties will be given closer attention to, with these drivers, as this is part of their GTP Learning Curve.
11.5: -The purpose of ITCC Rising Star Championship is to continually strive to assist young drivers in becoming GTP's fastest racing drivers.

And, again, enjoy the racing!

This calm-headed Canadian aims to be the fastest Canadian in ITCC. The colour scheme he chose was based on "Crazy Leo" Leo Urlichich; not because it's a Subaru (quite the opposite, actually,) but because he wants his smooth, yet crazy driving style to wow crowds. Given his courage in making passes, and his ability to "spice up" the racing line, this is certainly not difficult. The car he drives is also the absolutely brightest orange in the series. He aims to take up rallying, eventually, and so he is in this series for a bit of practice, and a bit of fun.

cyan-yoshi is one of two ITCC Rising Star possibilities. He and turbo-snail will have to battle it out, to score the best 10 results they can, so that their average points score across their 10 best finishes can take on the world. For this Australian, giving up isn't an option, and he'll fight everyone - including his teammate - from green flag to checkered flag. Can he take this fight to the Independent Team's Championship title, ITCC Rising Star championship, and even the overall Driver's Championship?

Jammy is a very fast Finnish driver, very much akin to the Finnish drivers who have come before him: Raikkönnen, Mäkinen, Hirvonen and Latvala. Clearly, there's something very cool-headed about Finnish drivers. They set out with the singular goal of winning, every time they go on track, and often succeed! Jammy is no exception to this rule. He's fast, consistent, talented, and cool-headed. Passing him is difficult, he rarely ever makes a mistake.

But, don't let that fool you. Jammy is a champion of many series, and although he's making his debut in ITCC, he's still going to be a serious contender. Don't think he's ruthless, either, because he's actually the nicest guy in ITCC, making him a fan favourite among the sympathetic fans who understand that emotions run high during racing. His considerate, yet aggressive driving is unlike anyone else's in ITCC.

This German lives on the edge. Famous for his big win-or-go-home attitude, he always sets forth with his game-face on. A staple of the ITCC, he's been here - winning - since Season 1. This season, he seems to be aiming for a win with the only SEAT car in the field - a realistic goal. In the first season, his
Toyota GT86 was a force to be reckoned with; he almost helped Toyota to the Manufacturer's championship. In the second season, his VW Golf was extremely competitive, again. In the third season, can anyone stop the unstoppable German?

Ettick_/Ettick_
9924619573_fe1f43b8b0.jpg

This driver, from Massachusetts, is certainly a fast driver in other series. While he attempts to come up to speed in the ITCC, he can safely look back on a successful season of racing on Forza 3 with pride. He finished second place in the GT300 Series he was in. Can he bring his GT300 pace to ITCC? We're sure to find out, his team has granted him the usage of a steering wheel, and he believes that he can challenge against even some of the fastest ITCC drivers ever.

YaShoe/TheYaShoe - Volvo C30
9544850950_fa486e303c.jpg

YaShoe is the final Canadian entrant into the ITCC. He made a late arrival, being the fourth Canadian to join, and the fifteenth driver to join. When he did the same, in WRC, he quickly became a championship competitor, and MrMelancholy's favourite competitor. The poise of his WRC car is still one of the many inspirational moments for WRC competitors, and he received a lot of praise for winning several stages of WRC rallies. He certainly won't hold back in ITCC, though, as he's certainly hoping to fight for the championship this time. He is Canada's entry into the ITCC's Rising Star battle, given his age and talent.

Can he bring his poise and finesse to ITCC, to claim his first ITCC Championship, in his debut year?

Nascarfan1400/Nascarfan1400 - Red Bull Racing (RBR) - Mazda Atenza 25Z '07

9687959617_bc4c2926c1.jpg

This American is a good spirited driver, known for his last lap passing talent. He drives the touring cars using his NASCAR and karting training, continually using draft to his advantage on the last lap to make the lap that counts into his strongest lap. Expect him to make the pass for the win on the last lap if he can start the race well.

His dark blue/red Mazda Atenza is the very same as that of Mazdaspeed Motorsports. Red Bull Racing has reached an agreement with Mazdaspeed Motorsports for them to supply a fully prepped Mazda Atenza for him to race; expect it to be well-prepared.

He runs a special pink paint scheme during the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness. This honest, caring attitude makes him a crowd favourite. He's also the ITCC Media Director and an ITCC Steward, so he certainly isn't afraid of the spotlight.

9739629314_fb71378f13.jpg

This British driver is a star-in-the-making. He aims to win the ITCC Rising Star Championship. He's very talented at controlling his car at the ragged edge, and can get very good pace out of his car. As with most young drivers, he has things to learn, but when the races go well for him, he's proven that he can win and get continual top 5s.

In preseason, no one was able to make such a splash in the series as quickly as Adam, who ran away with the win in his first ever ITCC race; the first race he had ever run on GTP. His Honda Civic has a very nice amount of poise in the corners, allowing him to keep his driving in check and push closer to the ragged edge.

9687959451_109c841c03.jpg

9739629168_2a132e26af.jpg

This British driver is the co-founder of Sigdam Racing, a team that has winning potential in every race. Although Sig has not won an official ITCC race, yet, he is set for it, given his competitive lap times, car, and team. ITCC drivers also highly doubt he'd be willing to settle for "second fiddle," in the case of the rivalry between him and his teammate.

The team really push their cars hard in development, ensuring that nothing fails during race day. Could their incredibly hard work and perseverance pay off with a Team's Championship and/or Driver's Championship?

This Latvian driver is is his country's official entry for ITCC Rising Star Championship. He won't allow his age to impede his aspirations of victory! He will fight for every position, often pushing his teammate - and fellow ITCC Rising Star competitor - to the absolute limit, (and even beyond!)

Follow this driver's Championship aspirations here, as he tries to become the next Nordic Iceman. Could he and his team claim victory?

Although this Canadian does not run for championship lacks experience, he makes up for it with effort and determination. His route to victory is an arduous one; he spends the most time tuning, tweaking and practicing out of any ITCC competitors.

His schedule may not allow him to compete for the championship, but his presence is welcome in every round he can enter. He aims to improve his driving skills and prepare himself for owning a very potent car he has plans for building. He will try to win, but he believes that a win is only a win if it's justifiable and fair. This is why he was chosen to be the Race Director in the case of the Series Director's absence.

This ITCC veteran is America's entry into the ITCC Rising Star Championship. And, since he was in both Season 1 and Season 2, he's got the experience to be able to pull off the wins. His Honda Civic Type R '08 has been perfected over the previous two seasons, and this Season he means business. His race starts tend to be predictable, and he always survives the first lap, allowing him to make passes throughout the duration of the race, and he always ends up being a front-runner. With factory team support, he's a shoe-in for winning races.

Can he become the inaugural ITCC Rising Star for America?

Turbo_snail is the founder of Turbo Snail Auto Sports, Mazda's second Independent Team. He aims to battle against cyan-yoshi to be Australia's entry into the ITCC Rising Star Championship. He'll have to outscore cyan-yoshi in average points across his highest 10 points scores to claim the title of Australian ITCC Rising Star Championship entrant, and then outscore everyone else to be the Champion.

Can he do it? If he finds a teammate, there's a possibility that his team could also take the Independent Team's Championship. There's some tough competition ahead, but a clear head and good ethics will go a long way.

sparkytooth is a fast Venezuelan driver. He's aiming to be the fastest driver of the Southern hemisphere, and take home the ITCC Rising Star Championship. This 15 year old also poses a serious threat for the Independent Team's championship, and could even be the overall ITCC 3 Champion. His teammate buck_1 will certainly help him to clinch the Independent Team's Championship, at least - that is, if she's not winning races herself.

buck_1 is ITCC's first female driver - and she will not let it be a disadvantage. She's just as fast as her fellow British teammate, Gedi69, and aims to be the best teammate she can be. She'll score points for her team, and will definitely fight to be the lead driver on the team.

Could she take home the Driver's Championship and Independent Team's Championship?

This American driver is one of two American drivers vying for ITCC Rising Star Champion status in Season 3. He's fighting against his local friend and close rival polarbear345. They both live - and grew up - in the same state; Pennsylvania. Following the breakdown of East Coast Motorsports/RPM's merger talks, both LancerEvo7 and Furinkazen remained loyal to Volvo, meaning that Volvo is the first and only ITCC Manufacturer to ever have two Factory-Works teams. However, the question remains; which Volvo team will be successful? Will either Volvo team be successful?

Will Lancer be America's inaugural ITCC Rising Star?

This American driver is consistent, and has never received a penalty. He's a bit of an oddball, in that no one expects him to win the championship, until he racks up the consistency points and suddenly finds himself in the cat-bird SEAT. His haberdashments have earned him a special spot in GTP lore, making him a favourite among the underdogs. His consistency also allows him to finish difficult races very well, meaning that he shines where others struggle. In a race with heavy rain, for example, his driving style will allow him to run past everyone who makes even the slightest of errors.

This dark horse stands a very good chance of winning the Driver's Championship, and the Manufacturer's Championship - along with SEAT Autosport teammate Sakery.

 That reminds me, there will be a Teams championship. You'll be a privateer team. The Vectra runs 276 hp/1200 kg. :) Welcome!

Hey Willfred! Great to have you, I might have to stay in the karting series, too. That depends on my work schedule.

not sure of car yet though

That's fine; there's no rush, pre-season test dates haven't been confirmed yet, and no one's locked into, or out of, any cars until the first official points race. You've got weeks to decide, my friend. :)

Well I'm using the Opel all the way :).

You're welcome to use it. I'm just not forcing anyone to use a car yet. Yet, or really, at all, for that matter. Rule #1 is happiness. Don't like your car? Switch it. :)

Yes. For two seasons.. ;)

Your words, not mine. I pleasantly invited you, to pleasantly join us for pleasant racing. You declined. Please don't be unpleasant.

I pleasantly was talking about after when you quit and there wasn't a thing to continue it. Besides, if driving standards improve actually this season, I might rejoin later one.

East Coast Motorsports will be fielding two cars this season. Teammate is TBA.

Akmuq wins the thread so far.

I hope MrM no longer awards money for the champion, that seemed to cause everyone to drive like a maniac.

You pleasantly invited me - what can i do? Pleasantly join you.

Here's my info:
GTP / PSN
jammy21 / jam_my21

Car: TBD - have to make inventory what i have and what i wanna use.

There's some hard rules on the book :scared:
2: Race Systems

2.3: -Car contact and off-track excursions disallowed.
2.4: -Contact with walls disallowed.
2.5: -Anyone making contact or leaving track must leave the race immediately.

So basically, if we make a mistake, we're :censored:ed?

EDIT: Well, if the people who Mel invited all join, there won't be too much trouble.

EDIT2: Official sign-up: LancerEvo7 / GTP_LancerEvo7 - Volvo C30 - East Coast Motorsports
