Non-Functional I still like this.

Mike Moran builds some wicked engines. Arguably his most famous engine is the one in Larry Larson's Nova.

iirc it was also one of the most complicated to pull off because, with good reason, Larson wanted only off-the-shelf parts for his engine, because well, we all know the use the thing gets from him. So in order to be able to repair it if the need arises, he needed to be able to order/overnight already existing components instead of, you know, calling Callies and ask them to fabricate a new custom-spec billet crank in 12 hours. But of course, making reliable 2,300 hp with off-the-shelf stuff wasn't easy :crazy:

And btw and speaking of Larson, anybody saw this?

Larson's New Dragweek rig. Clickety.

I did. I have a feeling that it is going to be a low 6 second rig at the slowest. I wouldn't be shocked if this thing goes for the street legal quarter mile record. Lutz is planning on bringing out his "Evil Twin" '57 with goals of a low 6 second pass and defending champ Tom Bailey is shooting for mid 6s this year. Speaking of Drag week, isn't that next week?

I wonder how the TT 572 S10 is going to do. I've seen that a few times in person and spoke to the owners; they are local and they said they were going.

EDIT:

I love seeing pics like this. Original owner int he first pic, and the new pic is the same car on its third owner just a few months ago.

@Cano Dude.

Seriously, you found such amazing gems. That yellow mustang is the best mustang I ever witnessed with my eyes.

Well, all of them are gorgeous!

Calling it now- Larson is going for at least a 6.50 pass with that truck.

Not. Larson is going for 5 seconds. Bailey already posted a 6.50 on testing and Lutz did a 6.80 with the chutes open. This Drag Week there will be 5-second times.

Tom Bailey already said that he's going for sub 6.50s this year.

And the Michigan man is still on top after day one.
For sure. I hope to get out there in a few years and compete in the street classes. I doubt that'll happen though haha. I'm pulling for these guys:

These guys are local to me. I've seen it in person, snapped a few pics of it. I had a goot shot of the enigne but I can't find it. Its got a 580ci Chevy big block with twin 76mm (now 82mm) turbos. 1,400-1,500hp roughly on pump gas

Not long after leaving Topeka, Bailey's Camaro cracked a head. A new one is being flown in. I wonder how much money that will be. Meanwhile, there are 5 cars in the 6s iirc. This is nuts.
