I've read some where that Skyline GT-R R33 was not as popular as R32 & R34, even the Japanese comic character ("The God Feet", not quite sure about my translation...) in Initial D doesn't like the R33.

Here's the quote (car review) from an online Nissan Skyline resource site about the R33:
So, how does it drive?

The R33 GT-R is not only bigger than the R32, but also 50kg heavier, which is generally not really useful concerning active ability. The more weight, the more you have to move - in any respect. Since the engine has not been changed that much, except for higher peak-torque, it is no surprise that the new GT-R makes the sprint from 0-60mph in "only" 4.9 seconds, two tenths of a se-cond slower than the R32 GT-R. The clutch is all sportive, though - you really have to push it hard. The shifter works very precisely, therefore, as does the steering.

Anyway, it seems the Skyline has become more luxurious with the new generation. The longer wheel-base and softer suspension setup - the ride is still quite firm - make the R33 more every-day useable than the other GT-Rs. On the other hand, a setup like this makes the car less agile. It does not feel as stuck to the road anymore as its pre-decessor did, despite its aerodynamic advantage. Furthermore, the large 17inch wheels tend to tramline. You feel any bump in the road moving the car around and one gets the feeling of a lack of control in its behavior. After all, the R33 is just not as confidence inspiring and agile as the other versions.

I hope there will be inclusion of the new Blancpain Enduro series ( would need GT4's to go with GT3'S since they are the to category's involved in it, although I would really love seeing multi-class racing in the form of GT1 & 3 in the same race.

I'm curious: is it possible to run GT2 or GT3 championships with it? That might be a reason for me to buy it.

Porsche GT3.

Thanks for the info. However, it's not complete and missing some tracks, e.g. Bathurst. Anyway, I've added those unconfirmed by EA. :)

According to the official website there are 35 tracks, different variations not included.

I'm slightly confused, why does it say March 1st?

I thought it wasn't being released until the end of this month...

Bathurst is on the list -> Mount Panorama

Just learned the official name is Mount Panorama Circuit.

That site has quoted the date wrong, it will be release at March 29, 2011. You can see the date on Shift 2 official website (the link).

Update:

Track list - Corrected figures for CIRCUIT DE CATALUNYA, DAKOTA, RUSTLE CREEK & SHANGHAI.

I thought I would point out the NEW tracks from the old Shift 1 tracks. I think a couple of Tokyo tracks are new, or at least additional layouts from the old Tokyo two tracks we had before. That's almost as many NEW tracks as GT5 has real tracks in total...

And for me, I'd rather have more tracks than more cars, and, just as I don't want fake cars (X1, anyone?!) I don't want fake tracks...

i agree looks smashing the tracklist 👍

Just a minor fix for the first post, but the GT1 Murcielago is actually called the Murcielago LP670 R-SV.

Unfortunately, the list is not complete, missing some already revealed cars as well.

The final car quantity will be at least 130 (counted in official website), possibly more than 145.

I think almost all are race modifiable, that almost doubles the count again. (technically I suppose).

Plus the Alfa Giulietta is missing as well which has been confirmed as a car in the Limited Edition and presumably available to buy in game.

If I'm not mistaken, all the GT1 and GT3 cars are RWD, so I hope the AWD cars used from the game have their trannies correctly changed.

The LP670 and GT-R race cars are RWD.

I definitely think SMS have a better plan for the game than GT5. 130 cars you actually WANT to drive, no jokes or 30 duplicates amongst them. They have concentrated more on the tracks than on the cars, and quite rightly, IMO. As with Shift, they can always sell us some DLC of more cars as and when needed. I'm not a Pokeman type racer! I tend to use maybe a dozen or thereabouts cars for regular racing, tuned to perfection (had several Top 30 laptimes in Shift), but I get my variety from racing on as many different tracks as possible.

This reflects what the modern race driver does. He sees FAR more tracks than cars! (He probably sees more grid girls than cars!)

Well, I just posts whatever description is from the Shift 2 official website -> Link

Update:

The 8 layouts Nürburgring is now equally divided to Nordschleife & Nürburgring for unknown reason.

PS: Maybe to form a perfect 6x6 square? lol

4 tracks for the Nordschliese, (same as Shift... the whole ring, and three point to points) and 4 variants on the Nürbergring GP course. Seems logical. What's the problem?

Nordschleife - its the Ring

Nürburgring - its the F1, GT1, etc... GP track
