Possible future event: - Honda GT500 Seasonal Event (Not sure what they celebrating)

EDIT: Apologies. The layout picture is actually just a Casino Triangle in upside down. So no new layout but theres time change and new sponsorships.

Also, mind you that the TEXTURE HAS BEEN UPDATED!

UPDATE:
PitStop now has an article about it: http://pitstop.gran-turismo.com/en/article/942

- New replay angles
- Newly resurfaced West course
- Relocation of crashpads and guardrails to match the 2009 renovation
- Addition of circuit objects “Racing Theater” “Traffic Education Center”
- Revision of the final chicane
- Time transition is also now enabled

UPDATE 2:Considering the whole thing has launched, this thread is now reworked as a comparasion thread. Feel free to post the photo comparasion!

I hope they add this layout as an option and not a replacement for the current layout. As it is, the distance from 130R to the chicane is just about perfect IMO.

Hmmm.... I wonder if they will give this treatment to any other tracks. I can think of a few that could be updated but they'd mainly be miscellaneous at best though (Kerb colours, etc). Great find!
I'm sure every track, going forward, will be updated for day/night and weather. Just like many tracks from 5 got updated for 6.

Ok so this will most likely be front page news very shortly. I hope they do time change for both versions of the track but with PD history the one we have now will only be weather change and the update version will have both. I hope that Okayama and Fuji time change will be next.

I'm going to call it now, but I doubt we'll be racing at Suzuka in the dark. Updating a track is always a good thing regardless.

They have had a Suzuka 1000km race for 44 years or more now and that always runs into dusk so the track should get at least to that time period. Then one can properly replicate the most famous race at that track other than F1 races which are never at night realistically anyways. I don't consider racing cars with no headlights under flood-lighting to be night racing anyways. Night=Darkness.

I think, somewhere between the last Monday of November and the 5th of December, we could be in for a massive update to celebrate GT6's first birthday, hopefully this is included in it. Suzuka at night, would be terrific, only then would I actually enjoy the track!

The layout hasn't changed since 2005, so I doubt any distances from corner A to corner B will be changed...

It's the 'Casio Triangle' not 'Casino', a lot of those style of maps (I think they were made for Wikipedia) have several errors.

Exciting to see an update on the way for Suzuka though, some of the texturing is a bit bland as it stands.

There will be an update in late November, that's for sure.

For December, maybe an another update. But one thing at a time 👍

I think they prepare the game and its tracks for endurance races in A-spec which for their 1st game since GT2 (if not GT) are absent until today.

Looks good, maybe PD have more surprise for us (more updated track) that will come in next update or probable in 2.0 spec :)

Good thing the layout stays the same. I actually have no desire to test every car again, nor do I have the time anymore now that I'm a seasonal (and then hopefully full-time) driver for UPS :( The good news is I'll be able to afford a PS4 + GT7 + wheel :)

Drifting at night, in the wet, should be a lot of fun.

Honda article about opening Suzuka: http://world.honda.com/history/challenge/1962suzuka/

"The original plan called for a course to be built amid an area of rice fields. However, after Mr. Honda ordered that the precious fields not be destroyed, it was decided that a relatively wild section of mountainous land nearby could be used instead."

Soichiro Honda is second from the right.

"A ceremony commemorating the completion of the Suzuka Circuit was held on September 20, 1962. In November, Suzuka Circuit hosted its first race: the first Japan National Road Racing Championships."

"In May of the following year, the Suzuka Circuit hosted the first Japan Grand Prix Auto Race."
