I'm getting hype! Couldn't believe it was arcade only, so now I can play it. Thanks for sharing! I wonder why PS3 and not PS4 though.

Because the PS3 still needs love too, you know. It's not all about the PS4 and the Vita (though the Vita might have a rough road ahead, especially since Sony announced- well, read this: http://wololo.net/2015/01/29/new-vi...o-cease-support-remove-youtube-near-and-maps/)

As for why we're still watching anime, it's because we touch ourselves at night and want to see cartoon boobs.

Wow. I know you probably meant it as a joke, but come on, man.

I see, a shame about the Vita. Was possibly planning on getting one later in the year, or next year.

What? It's not like that for you?

Railgun, considered as an action series with a sci-fi element, is actually pretty good, and well animated.

Unfortunately, it falls victim to numerous tropes... Fan service, oversexualization of children, character stereotypes, overcomplicated plot and/or combat exposition, and the biggest trope of all... Kids as weapons.

Could be worse. The story in the manga goes someplace incredibly dark... too dark for the younger audience the more light hearted earlier issues attracts. Some of this is glossed over in the anime, but it's still a bit disturbing.

That said, it's well made, at least. Decent way to pass the time.

This Myanimelist thing is fantastic. While I'm going to keep the Word doc. of what animes I've been recommended, just for the sake of not having several versions of the same anime clogging up my 'to watch' section. I've got it all up to scratch now so feel free to send me a friend request. 👍

:dunce:

After trying to find some scenes of Grisaia for a friend (hey, I don't think she'd really be all that keen on an adult VN ;) ), I found a scene which had made no sense at all. Turned out I completely missed episode 5.

Words cannot explain how silly I feel. :dunce:

I really enjoyed the episode though, now Michiru makes a lot more sense. Cue @AOS- saying the VN is so much better. :P

Honestly, I really, really want to watch the VN but I just feel the sexual scenes are just going to spoil the experience for me really. I mean, I can deal with pornography, but it just doesn't seem right watching something like that for the story if that makes sense. Just waiting for the sexual free one to come out in the latter half of the year. @AOS-, I'll be counting on you to tell me if it's any good. :P

Railgun is more or less a side-story of the original plot that focuses on the clash between inherited magical power and man-made superpower. If you're interested in that, A Certain Magical Index is the one you want. Railgun focuses on the science field, specifically on those 4 girls.

Episode 5 ruined Michiru's route for me. Nothing in it came as a huge surprise. I'm glad the anime skipped so much content on Sachi though...

Won't know until you try. :P

I've grown tired of waiting for eps to air locally. I simply read the Manga.

Index is a little too harem-ish, for me... but then, it exemplifies that trope much, much, much less than Railgun focuses on panties... so it balances out. I like Railgun because it's rather more straightforward, and there's more consistency to the rules of the shared universe there. Yes... both series are pure fantasy, but I like having to suspend my disbelief less when watching anime...

Which doesn't explain why we watch Fairy Tail... but then I spent all of the other night picking out the logical inconsistencies of the last episode we watched... okay... maybe we're watching it out of a sense of duty, at this point. Nothing else to watch, though it's nice that they're going through the entire Ranma archive on Animax Asia... and it shows two or three nights a week.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I think Sachi's route was my favourite. Some really powerful quotes were said there, but for some reason none of them are anywhere on Google. Will have to watch it again sometime to note it down.

Touche. :P I would download it for the hell of it if I didn't need to harass people to download it for me, but due to my dad's anti-use-internet-ness, anything more than a 1gb would get me in serious trouble.

It'd just be a lot of effort to in the end go 'nah... can't stand all dem 2d tittahs.'

And then you can throw up on yourself, right?

Maybe in those bits, but I'm actually trying to take up on some of the good routines the main character has.

Oh. No worries, I'm already working on it.

'nah... can't stand dem.'

You'll come around one day. At least for a brief period of time. :P

Mmm... Nibutani. :P

People say the hardest thing when making an online account is the username. For me, it's choosing my favourite Nibutani picture for the avatar. :nervous:

I thought Railgun and Index were just works that appealed only to teenagers. Was I wrong?
I kinda want to watch them but if they're nothing special I'll drop it.

Well, it does help I am a teenager. :P

It's quite different to anything I've watched before, though I must admit I was getting a tad on the bored side during the first two episodes, wholly because I didn't really understand a thing. I picked up from there tonight and watched a few, and I can definitely say it's starting to get more interesting. While I wouldn't put it in Memochou's or Grisaia's league, it is starting to gather some steam to make it enjoyable.

I don't think I could really recommend it thus far, but I've only watched 5 episodes of a 20+ season so we'll see closer to the end! I'll be sure to report back. 👍

I remember thanking a guy here for recommending me Index. That's how good I thought the Index series was at the time.

Trying to get 2 lady friends in Anime. Otakus in the making :sly:
They like watching series like Arrow, Scandal , Chicago Fire etc...

Any suggestions?

Have them watch Cowboy Bebop. If they don't like it don't bother even trying to talking to them ever again.

Funny enough, I actually haven't seen Cowboy Bebop but I want to watch it. Will take that recommendation :D

Nah, booze will only make it harder to hit or catch the ball. Or throw it.

Since rounders is a team sport, I'd recommend listening to what your team mates have to say very highly, and watching Gurren Lagann in as enthusiastic a manner as possible.

Oh, wait, that's watching anime.

For the Vita, the other things kinda make sense, but the Youtube app? Really? That's not cool, $ony. As for that last one, no comment.

Yeah it was meant to be a joke.

I thought so. Its kinda sad most anime these days cater to that and nothing else.
