Million Credit FF Summer Shootout

All right its time to look in your garage and pull out one of those frequently overlooked and often maligned FF cars.
Harvey Wallbanger is proud to announce the 1st Annual Million Credit FF Summer Shootout. Yes that's right its time to show everyone that a finely tuned FF can hold its own in class against the FR and AWD cars. Do you have the car and tune to be named this Summers FF King or Queen? Come on down and show off your 500PP FF burner.

All details of the FF shootout will be posted here when they are agreed upon.

As an incentive to get participation in this event Harvey Wallbanger's Cafe is offering a 1 million credit purse to the winner of the shootout! (Prize to be awarded in cars and parts.)
Additionally the Outlaw Motorsports Garage is offering 150,000 credit bounty to those who participate as test drivers! (Also to be awarded as cars and/or parts)
A Drivers prize of 500,000 credits will be awarded to the driver who makes the fastest lap in the Shootout. (Also to be awarded as cars and/or parts. Be prepared to provide verification of lap time if field feels the time is in question. I.E. posting a lap time with a car that is several seconds faster than any other driver's.)

All discussion of the rules and format as well as the actual shootout will be held here.

Come help us plan this event and make it a roaring success!:gtpflag:

FF Summer Shootout RULES pending further review here are the challenge rules!
1) Each tuner may submit one FF car tune for the challenge.
2)There is a 500 PP limit on all cars.
3)Ballast and Power Limiter are allowed for cars to meet the PP limit.
4)Sport Soft or lesser tires only.
5)No Race Modified or Race Cars!(and yes race cars includes Rally types!::rolleyes:)
6)All car tunes must be submitted here no later than July 2nd (A link to your garage is sufficient if you do not wish to post the full tune here. Consideration will be given on the final submission date due to time zones, however it is highly recommended that entrants not wait until the last minute to get their contender in.)
7)Independent test drivers will test cars on Grand Valley Speedway.
8)Test drivers have the responsibility to test all cars as the tuner writes them up, including all gear settings and LSD settings. (Suggest that the tuners either place the car on share or send it to the test drivers, especially for cars from the UCD which the test driver may not have readily available.)
9)No one entering the shootout as a tuner may participate as a driver. However feel free to post your best times for comparison.
10)The average of the drivers times will be used to determine the Shootout winner.
11)All drivers must submit valid times for all car tunes entered in the event here no later than the 16th of July.(If the number of cars that need to be tested makes the time between final entry and event final a problem then event may be extended.)
12)Arrangements for payouts to the event winner and all test drivers will start on the 17th of July, or the first day following the final time posting whichever is later.
13) While discussion of the various cars tunes and the methods drivers use in testing as well as their reviews of said car tunes is encouraged, anything viewed as a personal attack on either the car tuner or the driver/reviewer may constitute grounds for disqualification/removal from the contest. Discussion of anything related to the contest is highly encouraged. Personal attacks and bickering/flaming will not be tolerated as this curtails the enjoyment of the community as a whole and could lead to the moderators steping in and closing the contest down. This can be an enjoyable experience for all of us and a possible learning experience. Let's have fun and be respectful of others.

Additional sponsors willing to offer incentives welcome as well.

Issuing a special thank you to these 7 drivers. As you can see just from the amount of time for the total of their Hotlaps they made a significant investment of their gaming time to make this shootout a success.

While others may claim the title, these 7 truly deserve the title of "Drivers"!

So it is with great pleasure that I announce the "Drivers Choice Award".

Well you guys just missed sneaking 3rd place in front of all the Integras so maybe this will help make up for it.

Once again great job everyone.

Just to keep things more 'organised', I figured I'll add this part to the test.

AssassinTuner confirmed.

Car is almost ready, I'm going to take the time to see if I can't find another car and make it faster until the deadline.

Quick question, could a car already tuned by a GTP tuner be entered (i.e RKM, MFT cars)? It should be a good test for how good the cars are…

I see no reason why not. Had the pleasure of driving a car given to me the other day that was restricted way back to 450 PP. Was almost as easy and fun to drive as my Pocket Monster with the added bonus of hitting 155mph on the straight at Nürburgring. Don't know if the cars tuner will enter that car unrestricted up to 500PP or another car, but it tells me we have some serious competition headed for the Shootout.

Hold on tight cause this is going to be one wild ride!:D:gtpflag:

XDesperado67
Sounds good to me although having the drivers actively competing against each other could backfire on us.

By the way why don't we take this conversation to the proper thread.:)

I think that would be a good thing. Give them incentive to push the Tunes as hard as possible.

Hopefully there is a variety of cars that get brought out to the Event.

XDesperado67
Ole Harvey Wallbanger here may be crazy:crazy: but he ain't stupid.:dunce::lol:

I love it!

I got no issues with it either, but I'd suggest up the PP to 500 to be competitive.

I'm putting together a Tester/Driver recruiting thread in General to see if we can get some Drivers who don't frequent the Tuning Board often in on the Event. I'll link it up when I'm done.

Ok! Sounds good.

Been sorting through my garage trying to pick my weapon of choice.:D
First couple I thought about just didn't have what I was looking for.

Yeah I've got one almost done getting set up. Just looking to find something faster then it. The drag is waiting out the UCD cycles for what I'm looking for. It was an unsuspecting killer in GT4, just haven't snagged one yet.

Edit

Found what I was looking for, but wrong edition :( but this one might let me go further to get 500PP.

I'm eager to get started, after I'm done this back up car I'm going to have to Tune something else just to keep busy.

Adrenaline are you in as a driver?

Telling you there will be some surprisingly fast cars for you to play with!:D

You can count me in! And by the way, thanks.:sly:

Your welcome and please don't hurt us to bad. I'm still trying to find something to compete with what you gave me at this PP level!

I still have to find something for this contest!:nervous: I know it is only 50pp difference, but it changes the game. Finding the sweet spot with the build is going to be the issue I think.👍

Granted it was on the long straight of Nürburgring but I had it up over 155mph, and with the way it handles...I realize its handling etc. changes when you unrestricted it but losing all that extra weight and getting more HP! Ugh:scared:

Like I said don't hurt us to bad!:nervous:

Grrrr:mad: They did it to me again!
Yet another car to add to my list of broken design by PD!

When a car weighs 700Kg and has 256HP and 210ft/lb torque it should actually accelerate! Not to mention attain a speed of over 135 mph.

Adjust the gearbox for even more acceleration

No good the cars maximum speed without draft is 148mph:grumpy: its not the gears its bad design by PD. I have heavier cars with less HP an Torque that out accelerate it and have higher top speeds.

Yeah my backup car fell through, can't get the torque I want out of the 98 model. If I find the "Special Edition" I'm after in the UCD I might give it a Shot. For now I'm on my Top Dog.

So where do we post to register as a driver? This thread or the other?
Also I might have missed it, but when does the driving portion start?
