Will you all just SFTU!? There MORE than enough here to satisfy everyone’s needs..remember; all cars now feels different, go back on prolouge incase you forgot what it felt like. And DLC is a definate..it was in prolouge (and free at that). Sure I was puzzled at the amount of Hondas but y’know whatever not like I gotta drive them, I got like 900 other cars to drive THAT ALL FEEL DIFFERENT! I Also reckon there’s a ton of hidden cars..why reveal them before release? Thats the reason they’ve been blocking videos because of “spoilers”, so why would they release them all on the official site? Even If I am wrong I’m super happy about this list and everyone else should be. 600+ comments of whinning is pathetic. Imagine how Kaz would feel after the amount of work he’s spent on this, just reading through your comments? He’d be demoralised. It takes alot of work to make a brand new engine on a new genration of consoles you know..that took up most of development time. Ok I’m done :)

  2. Skralle

I miss the old european Ford models. like the capri, escort mk1-2, cortina. volvo amazon, audi quattro S1 pikes peak. audi sport quattro. ford fiesta xr2i, ford sierra corswort. sierra rs500 cosworth. ford escorth rs cosworth, just to name a few

    1. Tyger

I agree, though I don’t “miss” them as they’ve never been in GT. But I would love to see Capris and Ford Cossies. I’m glad the RS200 is in, in Group B and Production versions, but GT always seems to miss European Fords. Also Euro GM models like the Opel Manta. They have the licenses though so maybe we will see these cars as DLC one day…

  3. Tyger

I still can’t figure out how I feel about this list. In some ways it is awesome, and I see a lot of my old favourites there as well as some new ones, and i’m seriously looking forward to taking them for a spin. But in many ways this list just feels kinda *odd*…the new model and premium model choices are interesting, but many are strange. And I would love for most of the GT4 cars to be upscaled but seriously ALL of them?

New licenses, with serious ommissions. I still need to look up that Diablo, is it the GT racing version that was in the Japanese GT3? Can we have a stock version that would be way more historically significant?

A bazillion skylines again and I love the old models from the 60s and 70s but seriously, enough from the 80s onwards already. Would love to see, again, significant models like the Ken Meri special from the 1970s

Which brings me on to…if this is “The Real Driving Simulator” which has always perhaps forsaken supercars and sports cars for lower performance models, which i’ve always enjoyed and respected, why is it such a shoddy snapshot of the *history* of cars?

We still only have a handful of pre-1960 models, and have lost some significant ones such as the Benz Patent Motorwagen in favour of the VW Schwimmwagen and Kubelwagen…interesting but bizarre. And earlier someone made a joke about Duesenbergs with fluffy dice…hell yeah. How about Duesenberg, Auburn, Cord, old monstrous supercharged Bentleys, Jag SS and XK series, old MGs, Citroen Traction Avant, DS, SM etc etc. Where is the history?

Per my comments in the other thread, I think they can totally nail this with a LOT of DLC over the next few years, which will really make this the definitive driving simulator, make PD and Sony a lot more money, and keep us happy whilst they slowly but surely work away at GT6. If they need to expand and have a separate team working on DLC only, surely this would be worthwhile.

If, as has been suggested before, there is no DLC, this will still be an awesome game but ironically despite being probably the best driving game ever, it will also be a monumental missed opportunity to be so much more.

    1. DarthTurismo

feel exactly the same way… happy to pay for DLC..
the way i see it PD will regain the respect of the fans if they do the following:

      1. release DLC of some obvious STD cars that should have been premiums from the start (RUFs, countach, E-type, 250gto, veyron, etc etc)
      2. release DLC of some obvious missing ‘real world’ tracks like Spa/hockenheim & even bathurst
      3. release DLC of some obvious missing “original” tracks like El Capitan/Grindewald/Apricot Hill
      4. release DLC user interface allowing user controlled changing of weather/time of day on ALL tracks.

Do the above and it will earn the status of best console racing game of all time!!!!

  4. fredyellowone

Just cancelled my CE with Gamestop.com, so it’s up for you to grab.

I’m still excited about this game, i’m not sad or anything; but there is no way i spend 99$ for that.

    41 Skylines and not a single Firebird/Trans-Am?
    800 standards?
    Weather on select few tracks?
    No Bonnet/hood view?

No thanks, regular edition for me.

Let’s take this game as what it is. A GT4 1/2.

  5. missionfailed

This initial Car list and track list, and game layout is good value for the money IMHO. This provides plenty of scope for DLC, which is what Sony and PDC will be looking for to continue the development. If you want/had everything out of the box… what is in it for them ?

Next time you grab an ice cream – ask for everything on it.

  6. Jeefonk

Wow guys, what happened to these?

    BMW : M6, M3E30, new Z4, 335i/335d… ??
    Aston : DBS, Rapide ??
    Lambo superleggera?
Ferrari : 328, 348, 355, dino, GTO??? and others?? scuderia??
    Apollo Gumpert ??
    SLK 55 ??
    trucks, porsches ??

    … anyway..

  7. Jack

Thirty Chevys, twenty-five Fords, and FORTY Nissan Skylines!?!? As if the contributions of those two manufacturers to the history of racing aren’t worth as much as the freakin’ Nissan Skyline. Absolutely unbelievable.

  8. Tvensky

dont care standart or premiom, it will still drive and look just as good :) you dont belive me, look at the “GT Standart car video” just dont have damage, BTW I dont want to damage it :)

    1. DarthTurismo

well if that’s the case then Kaz shouldnt have gotten us used to driving with the cockpit view…. because now we have to readjust ourselves to the bumper view again for most of our favourite cars that we expected to be premium… sorry but any way you cut it, it’s just weird…

  9. Tvensky

DONT COMPLAIN! 1031 cars is totally enough to find yourself other car to drive :) YET! my car “Honda Prelude” is there even 5 of them :D yayayayayayay, meet me online I will crush you with my 2.2 V-Tec :D

  10. Bruce Spec

PlayStation and Gran Turismo is a sponsor in major racing leagues and events all over the world and this is our car list. JUST SAD. We can’t even get the 2010 Super GT line up. What about the Audi R15? If I want to drive a ’95 Impreza — I’ll go buy one.

I think Kaz should have stayed in the office instead of running around the globe like a rock star and put together a car and track list worthy of the GT legacy. Forza is laughing!

Oh well, GT6 coming Holiday Season 2016.

  11. MitsuStigi

Hmmm… Judging from the car list and development time of GT5, I think GT6 will be like GT5 with more cars and tracks, and maybe little add-ons. Same thing happened with GT3 and GT4. GT3 was leaps ahead of GT2 but GT4 was more like an amplified GT3. There goes your odd and even numbers. :D

  12. GTPT

What’s your problem? We know that 800 standard cars are present in earlier versions of the game. So, What’s the surprise?

GT5 will be the best game in history!!

    1. Araba

Sure, it´ll be the best racing game by far and it´ll be the best for years,…
But seriously, i think i´m gonna pay 80 € for a highly polished GT 4,… besides, nice to have all the GT4 cars in the game, but there´s only a “few” new cars – too many cars missing (everyone of us has his own favorite cars), would´ve been better to rip off half of the remodeled old cars and put some effort in new ones,… 6 yrs of dev should´ve been enough, don´t you think…?!

…but in the end i´m happy to get GT for PS3…

  13. Schumito

With what people are asking for in here, I think that PD would have needed 6 BR Discs for the game. How come we are never happy! People have spent years crying for this game. now you are crying because it is not coming out with all the cars we wanted… DAMN… nothing is perfect under this sky, how can a game created by humans be? Come on, I think we have more than enough! :)

    1. CaliBoy1990

I guess you got a good point there……….besides, PD’s gonna do DLC sooner or later; most of the fans are gonna want it, in fact!

    2. Ps3fanboy

      Very good post indeed!

I feel the same as you do – im hyped that there are so many of my fav cars in the game – gonna be my mission to collect them all.

But i still have a feeling that kaz might have a surprice for us like others have expressed, he knows how critical we are , so why not save something for the last days , so people would be really glad , and possibly more people buying the game.

Or as some you of think , i think there might be some updates coming as well , altough he did say if wasnt to fond of DLC.

as it is now , i can’t wait to play it , and would be amazing if we got a surprice later on!

    3. Schumito

I have seen people complaining here about the lack of Fords and Chevy’s which is very very true. They are iconic car manufacturers, especially for the Americans. However, what about the quite cotained list for Ferraris? Where is the FXX, the fastest street legal car on earth when put to test on track? Well maybe a tonn and half of skylines and MX5’s is too much, very true, but one has to keep in mind that the game was build in Japan, home to Japanese cars. After all we cannot expect a lot more cars due to game limitations.

If I have to voice one of my disappointments, would be that SPA circuit was not included, which for me, is the most beautiful and complete circuit in the world. If I was PD, I would try to include Yas Marina (Abu Dhabi F1 circuit) not only for the fact that the F1 layout is beautiful, but because you have around 6 million variations to the track.

Let us be greatful for what we are going to receive, let’s stop complaining and race all the 1031 cars (friggin… I will be 90 by that time). If DLC is available, Great, Thanks Kaz, if not, Great Game, Thanks Kaz.

  14. Woggster

NO MAZDA RX3!!!!? Wtf thats crap =( And no new Holdens or Fords and they got rid of FPV!!
Wtf Sony/PD, seriously, just kick all the Australians in the balls…

  15. Robulus

What a time we live in. In two weeks we’re all going to possess an accurate driving simulator that realistically models the experience of driving over a thousand cars, technology that was science fiction 30 years ago.

And we so take it for granted now that we sit around complaining about it.

  16. Magic Ayrton

PD have too many hands in too many things, that’s the main problem.. not really interested in the fans, we’re just a money making means now.

  17. VeyronGlen

I’m sorry to sound negative but this is really dissapointing, this is unfortunately what i expected however. No Focus RS MK2? DBS? But 2 DB9s, why 2, make that into a DBS, it’s a lot better. Veyron as STANDARD!!!!! That car has the best interior of any car in the world (IMO) and now i cant experience it with the best graphics on any game, only Forza and NFS… I don’t think we need all the different RX7s and MX5s do we? VERY DISSAPOINTED :(

    1. Magic Ayrton

Join the club, No Porsche, probably the most controversial car manufacturer in the whole world!! 1 million mx5’s (with no dashboard) LOL… what can you do?? :/

  18. mrhardstyle

come on guys they announced years ago that most of gran turismo 4 cars will be in number 5. its to be expected. i am however disappointed that they removed the fpv’s from the list. us aussies can’t catch a break. was so looking forward to seeing some late model hsv’s and fpv’s but no. even forza has the v8 supercars included. please give us a dlc “aussie pack”.. please.

  19. unoc

Thanks goodness we have 100 hondas…. I was worried that once I got bored with my 50 skylines I wouldn’t have anymore japanese rubbish to drive!

Honda has made 3 good cars.
    NSX
    S2000
    Civic Type R.

We need 2 versions of each. Done. Bloody hell.

And why are there 18 cars to show the entire history of BMW in a 1031 car game?, yet at teh same time there are the same number of skylines to show a 5 year period?

Really disappointed especially after the track list.

Veyron standard? It had a full interior in GTPSP. Must be due to bugatti not wanting people to be inside a veyron doing 250mph when it hits a fence. No Veyron SS either.

    No Megane Renalt Sport ’10.

Infact, it appears that the cars were done and dusted by say March 2010 (that early japanese launch month), and they had worked form unlaunched models then rather than keep diong more cars until a month or two ago.

Expecting a few Koenenegsiggs, more spykers, a couple of nobels (one of the few supercars to be able to outrace pretty much everyone else and have a roof), aerial atom, atom v8, ascari (relaly hoping for it), and Zonda F…

Also, given that GT3 had either 2 or 4/6 depending on region F1 cars, and we knew GT5 already had the 07 and 10 ferrari f1 cars, I was expecting the rb6, it won the WCC, and possibly the WDC aswell as eing designed by the same guy who did the X1 (newey).

    1. CaliBoy1990

If there’s going to be oodles of Nissans and Hondas and such, why not bring out some of the older, even more obscure Japanese classics, like a few more ’70s Z-cars, or some more K-cars?

      And I’d like to see more muscle cars, too, preferably at least a few somewhat speedy ones too.{How about a couple of Torinos or Trans-Ams that could reach speeds in the general neighborhood of 150+? That wouldn’t be so bad, for starters}

  20. Shiro

Oh come on, no Skoda? It’s the third oldest car manufacturer in the world and now it has the largest sales in their 100 years history, why can’t they include them?

And also Tatra would be great, though legendary.

  21. Boomee

    THere needs to be this in a DLC pack as premeum preferably 2011 shelby gt500, 2011 mustang gt, mazdaspeed3.2011 audi a4 avant,2010 hyundai genisis,dodge srt4 caliber,volvo s60r,Saabs period,Pontiac g8 gxp,just to name a few

  22. Foxiol

About this list…some cars are missing and so many useless…About “missing cars”:Mazda 787B…no no i can´t say all of them…just i hope some of those are hidden or something.
    DLC…yeah sure.

  23. Leo_328i

It looks like GT5 on PS3 is kinda going to be like GT3 was like on PS2 – HUGE advancement in terms of graphics but a lot less focus on upping the car count. Hopefully they release enormous amounts of DLC.

    1. mr_durdan

I counted 100 Hondas (not including the tuner cars), and 142 Nissans (including NISMOS’s). I don’t mind having a lot of Japanese cars, but this is ridiculous. The 1st thing I noticed was the Veyron being Standard. Then I noticed the insufficient increase in American & European cars. I would have given up Premium cars altogether for more diversity and inclusion of such cars as: Koenigsegg CCX, Cadillac CTS-V, Radical, Caparo T1, SSC Ultimate Aero, Ford Shelby Mustang GT500, etc. Pray for DLC guys.

    2. Magic Ayrton

GT6 should be complete in terms of cars, not sure if they will update the standard cars, but will probably make all future cars (that weren’t previously featured) premium.

      Future premium cars should include..

      1.Porsche 911 and Cayman
2.Ford Sierra RS500 and Escort Cosworth
      3.Ford Capri mk1 RS2600 /mk3 3.0S
      4.Ford escort Mk1 and Mk2 RS
      5.70’s Vw Beetle
      6.Ferrari Testarossa, F355, F360, Scaglietti
      7.suzuki liana
      8.radical

      Any other sensible suggestions??

    3. CaliBoy1990

I think they’ll have to sooner or later………..and maybe they can fix some of the muscle cars, too, if they haven’t already……….how about a ’69 Charger that can do 150, for starters?

  24. ssupr@96

Is it me or are the dlc cars listed with the c.e. edition missing in this list? Maybe I’m just missing them, but I would think they’d be listed as dlc or gt cars, something like that.

  25. eMke3

Let the whining begin :D It’s cool that’s plenty of cars to have fun with. Of course I’m not satisfied with Kaz’s BMW selection almost nothing new. He probably never drove one. But anyways good selection of cars. I just wish they had 100 more Nissans….. “Sarcasm” ;P

    1. Magic Ayrton

LOL, It’s easier to produce 50 of the same car with just slight alterations to bodywork and paint.. PD are a business, and we are the means.

  26. Alien69

good car list but REALLY I HOPE NEW CONTENT COMING SOON. less miatas, skylines, s2000, lancer. and more ferrari, lambo n a lot of fast cars.

  27. oalithgow

  28. isocuda

Seriously, For added 200 cars (basically the amount of cars in Forza 3) to the already class leading amount we saw with GT4, You would think the focus would be on enthusiasts cars….

Simple things like how under BMW, all they did was add the M3 and there is still no E30 or E36 chassis in the game, E30 being very well know in the racing community as a legendary chassis.

No Genesis under Hyundai? That was a huge move for that company, How was this overlooked?

43 Skylines, A bajillion Hondas, hell More Miata’s then you need, yet they couldn’t manage a Playboy Cup Miata??

Grand Sport corvette made it, but no CTS-V? WTF?

Austin Martin Line up hasn’t changed…

I love this game, And I will always Love it, and I understand that a Japanese game will have some bias towards Japanese cars, But seriously if KazYam is such a perfectionist why hasn’t his team gotten bigger and even out the field a little bit, show some more cars some lovin….

There will always be plenty of cars that should be in a game that don’t make it, but after 6 years, this gap is getting a bit absurd, though I can’t complain, we can now FINALLY, change the colors of our cars hahaha.

I’m sure GT5 will be the best game out there but at the same time Its already kind of depressing knowing that I’ll be hoping that GT6 will hopefully clear the brand stereotypes…..

  29. J-KiLLA24

All you babies need to stop crying like little bit**s and grow up. Yeah, I think they shouldn’t wasted some of their time making 30+ versions of the same car BUT I’m not going to post comments complaining like little kids. You guys should know that there is such a thing as DLC. BE GREATFUL that they’re actually going to let us play their masterpeice that they’ve created instead of not. What is up with the world?!

    1. henban

Be greatful? Why? It’s PD and Sony that should be greatful when we buy their product – not the other way around. I wonder what is more absurd: people complaining when they actually have the right to do so if the car list is what it is after all these years, or, people complaining about people complaining.

    2. crab

I am a consumer. Not a benefactor for Sony or PD.

Usually people who say things like “what is up with the world?” and call people who they disagree with “little kids” are small-minded and childish themselves.

    3. J-KiLLA24

Haha, I’m not “childish” at all. What I’m saying is that reading all these negative posts you would think that being written from a bunch of “little kids”.

    4. DarthTurismo

oh woohoo another dude who complains about the complainers… isnt the purpose of these forums for fans to discuss their likes and dislikes (as constructively as possible??) 5 years dev time minimum…. years of speculation… it was never going to live up to the hype no matter what… but yes as a consumer we are spending our hard earned money on this game… Kaz and sony are going to sell 50million copies at least and make a bundle.. why shouldn’t we as consumers set our expectations high?? this is not a new arguement.. cmon our protests regarding the premium cars is well and truly justified… i for one expected far more premium icons and although DLC has not been ruled out it still leaves a rather rotten taste in my mouth…

  30. DarthTurismo

    Ok Ok……. i have finally burst….

There is not a single person on this forum who could honestly say they couldn’t comb through this list of 1000 cars and find approx 25 super iconic cars that are “S” & should’ve been given the premium treatment…

It’s not the quantity of cars that disappoints.. it’s the person who was placed in charge of selecting the premiums.. Say what you want but let’s be frank and honest.. those that disagree (given the 5 year plus development time) are in denial (which is a river in egypt!)

    1. pLiDeX_uy

this are mine, there are more that i know are iconic but these are the cars that i really wanted to be premium:

      S BMW M3 CSL ‘03
S BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car ‘97
      S Bugatti Veyron 16.4 ‘09
      S Jaguar E-TYPE Coupe ‘61
      S Jaguar XJ220 ‘92
      S Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary ‘88
      S Lamborghini Countach LP400 ‘74
      S Lamborghini NOMAD Diablo GT-1 (JGTC) ‘00
      S Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 – 16 Evolution II ‘91
      S Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 – 16 Evolution II Touring Car ‘92
      S Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG ‘02
      S Mercedes-Benz Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car ‘89
      S Pagani Zonda C12 ‘00
      S Pagani Zonda C12S ‘00
      S Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3 ‘02
S Pagani Zonda LM Race Car
      S Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 ‘85
      S Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 2 Rally Car ‘86
      S Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Rally Car ‘85
S Renault 5 Maxi Turbo Rally Car ‘85
      S Renault 5 Turbo ‘80
      S RUF 3400S ‘00
      S RUF BTR ‘86
      S RUF CTR2 ‘96
S RUF CTR “Yellow Bird” ‘87
      S RUF RGT ‘00

i can’t believe that the yellow bird is standard, it was my dream to drive it in nordschleife, i know i will be able to drive it, but i also could in GT4, i wanted a cockpit

  31. Sleepy-z

Whats funny is we all have a complaint about a car we wanted but in the end we will all end up with 200+ cars in our garage and only play with the same 10 or so eventually….well atleast thats what I did.

    1. Bernd

That’s the point. My GT4 garage is stuffed with almost 800 cars, many of them only driven once, about 200 never driven, I mostly bought them to complete the available colors (like the Superbird or Mercury Cougar). So, you’re right, after a while there will be 20-30 favorites and the rest will scarcely see the light of day again

    1. Kollosson

Its a stunning list of cars, i’m dissapointed that the Wiegart Vector is not included as i thought all cars from previous GT’s would be here, i also thought Polyphony would have taken more advantage of the Ferrari and Aston Martin licenses ( Ferrari 250 GTO and 288, Aston Martin
DB4GT Zagato, DBR1,DB5,DB7 Zagato ) but there,s so many awesome new machines to drool over i think i can forgive them.

  32. yomamma

holy moly! with that list its no wonder all of them couldnt premium. it would have taken a decade to do all of them.

    1. Sean

Ok, so we had the standard 370z in the GT5 Acadamy Time Trial.

So where is that in the list? Here are all the 3 series:

      # S Nissan 350Z (Z33, EU) ‘03
      # S Nissan 350Z (Z33, US) ‘03
      # S Nissan 350Z Concept LM Race Car
      # S Nissan 350Z Gran Turismo 4 Limited Edition (Z33) ‘05
      # S Nissan 350Z Roadster (Z33, EU) ‘03
      # S Nissan 350Z Roadster (Z33, US) ‘03
      # P Nissan 370Z Tuned Car ‘08

Where is the 370? And it’s Roadster version? Is this a misprint? Are one of the 2 350z cars supposed to say 370z and same for Roadsters??

      Weirdness..

    1. BMfan

Same,i’ve been waiting such a long time to drive an E30 M3 in GT and still nothing, one of the most iconic cars and nothing, but at least we have 200 skyline and S2000 to enjoy.

    2. Matt

And there is still no Kia’s!!!…I guess they want all the cars to be able to make it around all the tracks at least once.

    3. lado

I´m happy and sad at once. So many cars, but BMW 120i and d? One is enough better they put in a BMW M3 E30 like Forza 3 did!! And the old M5 02 Model perfect car, where is it ??
And where are the new Audi (R)S5, A1, the new generation of cars is barely available.. Lambo Reventon ??? Pagani Clinque?? If they bring DLC, my wish would be to include this cars, because they are singular! M3 is a legend on race track as on the road, also the pagani or reventon or the SLR Stirling Moss, E55 AMG ´10 E Coupe all the new ones are missing. Momentary we have to except this list, me too. Complaining about it just shows how cheerless we are..

  33. dbarrade

Not only a lack of Australian cars, but they are all Standards, so you guys won’t be able to swap your wheels, /sigh.

    1. persiano_dubai

Well … I also noted a few very nice cars that are M.I.A… what happened to the amazing new VW’s and Audi’s that use the award winning 1.4 Twin Charger ??? the all new Audi A1, Polo GTI, and the hottest hatches including Golf GTI 2010, the new Seat Leon, Renault Clio 197 !!!!!

The list is somewhat disappointing to me … I waited 5 god damn years and I saved a lovely 100 USD Note for this game about 2 years ago that I still have !!!

the majority of the NEW post 2009 cars are missing from the list … also where the heck is the M6.. where is the E63, S63, and for Gods sake where is Ford SVT Raptor, and the Gnesis Coupe… I hope they start adding 2010 cars in the future as DLC .. I would pay for them …

  34. Maxitsu

The fact some cars are Standard & Premium, i am guessing Standards and Premium can’t drive against eachother unless they are both. :(

    1. occasionalracer

You know if that were truly the case I would be shocked and furious. In no way should premium detailed cars be any different in terms of physics and playability, so that would just about kill the whole purpose of this game. Nobody has ever won a race because they used the almighty cockpit view. I never understood why Kaz couldn’t be straight up with an explanation between the two, he always made sure a bit of mystery went along with it. Please don’t be this way, or else they might as well release GT5 Standard & GT5 Premium.

  35. crab

1k cars is not 1k cars if many of those are almost exactly the same. I expected better from PD this time around.

But hey at least I can drive a different model of Civic every day for a month.

Oh look the side-view mirrors are different! AWESOME

  36. John Marine

For most people, it’s either 1K+ cars or 200-300+ cars with lots of leftovers. I mostly skimmed the list of cars (meaning I didn’t study every last entry). What I’ve said in the forums in regards to GT5 is how much of an impact does GT5’s shortcomings haunt the full game. Obviously, we know there are a handful of carryover cars from GT4 and GT PSP. Will this really hurt GT5 in the long run?

Even with the makeovers to GT5, 1K+ cars is still 1K+ cars. So I am very okay with everything here.

    1. Bernd

Well, not really OK with everything, to be honest. What bothers me most, is the tinted windows. Would have been better to port the windows from GT4, so we could see through them, just leave the cockpit-view out. To me, tinted windows in a 2010-game is a no no – no go

  37. GT Pro

Whatever the numbers, there is still a gross under-representation of Australian muscle (Commodore, Falcon, Torana etc.) I see. Disappointing…

    1. Zowne

I agree completely. 2 cars we got in there. 2 cars. An old 2004 commodore, and 2004 monaro. Not even a 2010 HSV or FPV. What a joke

  38. George

WTF this is the bigger ever list of cars in a videogame, premium models are the most detailed models ever in a videogame and there are people that still complain??? go play need for speed which has less cars than any gt game…
    moany moaners

    1. Bakemono858

I think people are mostly complaining about the car list because most of it has already been seen in gt1-4 -.-

    2. hrusa2

exactly . it is funny that people are like: oh too many cars from gt4. and on the other post : oh there is not enough tracks from gt4 :D what do they want ? more of new or more of the old but with better visuals ? every gt game has different cars and tracks. not like everything old + new stuff. it doest work like that.

  39. Circuit*star

WHAT IS THE POINT IN REPEATING THE SAME MODEL OF A CAR WITH THE SAME PERFORMANCE GIVEN A TIME PERIOD. FOR EXAMPLE
HONDA CIVIC EG 91 92 93 94 95 SAME CRAP!!!!!! Integra type R 95 96 97 SAME CRAP 98 99 00 SAME CRAP!!!. WHERE IS THE 1989-91 CIVIC SiR????????????? im pissed is the same list from gt4 plus newer cars that im not going to drive

    1. Breakzero

The 89, 90, 91 civic sir doesn’t actually exist. It is infact a Honda CRX SiR. And that car is in :-). The 84 – 88 model was actually the civic-CRX which also appered in gt4 too but not in gt5 now! :-(

    2. Circuit*star

are you telling me that the Car I owned That I bought from japan and the hundred of thousands were made and made history Doesn’t Exist are you out of your mind…or are you stupid.

  40. jlsotos

just noticed something while looking the list “No Red Bull F1 car”… i was expecting that car after all the work they did with vettel helping design the X1 proto, and the Red Bull headquarters appearing on the game but well i can live with that, hoping they release a DLC with new cars not too long after the game arrives

  41. binici

So many cars to choose from, yet people are bitchin… wow, most of these people bitchin can’t even afford real cars!

  42. Snaeper

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I don’t mind the many variations of different cars, it’s simply the fact that the American and European marks get the shaft while the Japanese marks get all the glory.

I wish PD had focussed more on Standard cars though, this is a very very weak car list even though it’s 1000+ strong.

Seriously, how awesome is Hyundai now? Genesis coupe and Sedan, the drift car and the Pikes Peak hill-climber… yet they don’t have a single vehicle made past ’01. Ford got a huge shaft too, the most modern vehicle is a NASCAR, the next a WRC Focus.

    1. what

I look at it from another angle. I personally don’t want space waisted on this game with the likes of american cars and european cars. Give me JDM cars all day long please!

  43. TS

This is a bit silly. I can forgive the thousand Mazdas and the 200 Skylines because it’s a GT game, but there’s no reason to skimp on the Ferraris, the Veyron Supersport, the CCX, even the 335i…the list goes on and on.

And I’ll never understand why they didn’t include the reasonably priced cars from TG.

    1. Squozen

Absolutely – they get the Ferrari license and then ignore the Testarossa, 308, 348, and possibly the most egregious omission – the 250 GTO!

I don’t want to bang on about Porsche, but if Microsoft could sublicense Porsche from EA, why couldn’t Sony?

PD’s attitude towards European/US cars still sucks, unfortunately.

  44. migubal1993

I prefer much more the FM3 car list, this car list is half japanese repeated cars, not saying to take them off, but it makes no sense to have so many different types of the same model and dont more models for example for aston martin, as the DBS or the v12 vantage or in ferrari the 360 or the 360CS

  45. Squozen

I bought my Mazdaspeed 3 in 2006 and was looking forward to driving it in GT5. Time passed and I sold the car in 2009. Then I bought a VW Golf Mk6 – surely THAT would be in GT5…. but no.

Now I’m saving for my next car and that ALSO won’t be in GT5, because it’s a Porsche.

    *sigh*

  46. dbarrade

oops, no edit button and I missed a few duplicates sorry, so 197 Premiums in my eyes:

    807. P Peugeot 908 HDi FAP – Multiple Liveries ‘10
    910. P Toyota 2010 Multiple Liveries TOYOTA CAMRY ‘10

  47. dbarrade

So it looks PD are technically correct, once you remove the obvious livery duplicates and count the RM and the non RM as one car you still end up with 201 Premiums, that is assuming the P/S cars are actually Premium:

    8. P Acura NSX RM ‘91

Does anyone know if all of the visual differences that make up the RM can be added individually via customization or is it flick a switch and you get new wheels, flared guards and some other cosmetic / performance changes?

  48. NO DEMO :-(

WAIT NO CADILLAC CTS-V WTH ! Thats the fastest four door production car in the world? And the aston martin one-77 how the hell did you forget that…. PLZ tell me there is some DLC with the good cars COMING!

  49. TruenoGuy86

face it guys for the old school jdms scene kaido/txr wins. where the hell is the 86 models of the AE86 !!? they were in gt2. where is the 70s mazda rx3 ? and what with pd and the fairlady 240zg? what about G-less model or the ZL.
man i wish i didnt have to view this list…

  50. NO DEMO :-(

WTF! all the good cars aren’t in the game! what happened to the f-50, zonda f, Mc12, any konigsegg’s,the fxx,a stock diablo, noble m600! and thats just to mention a few…you telling me i have have to buy forza to drive them!!!!!! if i wanted 700 nissans and 200 mitsubishi’s,90 toyota’s and 10 subaru’s i would just go the local dragstrip! C’ MON PD tell me you have some real good DLC coming especially being that we can’t put aftermarket wheels on them……!

    1. what

That’s what is best about GT for. It’s about driving real cars, that I can buy, racing them and modding them. Plus legendary cars from Japan.

  51. tonediary

Explain the logic behind this please..
    S BMW 120d ‘04
    S BMW 120i ‘04
So we can care about fuel consumption by getting the diesel version? What a joke.

  52. ChicoMaloXD

GTPlanet should make a Poll with all cars in the universe and choose what’s your favorite car so PD will know what cars we want.

I like GT5’s car selection, but i really wanted a Premium Nissan 300zx.

  53. Foxiol

The differences between STANDARD CARS AND PREMIUM we will found at the game. To me it seems that could be just with damage and that kind stuff but the modeling is the same in both…i mean again…quality, design, look,…maybe engine sound could be different as PREMIUM more like the real ones and the others similar to Prologue (but they are improved).
But i think that all cars have cockpit view. I really don´t care what “Kaz” said (with all respect) about it but i repeat that we will see that kind of things in 12 days…

  54. Smilenator

Only One Catarham and One Maserati, but over 100 Nissans.
Is Gt5 not showing too much Japanese bias once again?

  55. Rathkeaux

kinda wondering what this is doing there Volkswagen Schwimmwagen typ166 ‘42? I know we’ll have rain but is it going to be that bad?? Unless there is a quasi-water track of some variety?

  56. Ron Dennis

    Not enough Skylines. Come on, Kaz – forget the E30 M3, F50, CTS-V, MC12 etc. and let’s have 51 Skylines – good thinking ;)

  57. gaming25

The people who are whining are ridiculous. There are more than 1000 cars in this game!!!!!!! And not only that, but WE KNEW THE STANDARDS WERE CARS FROM PAST GT GAMES!!!!!! So I have no idea how anyone is “dissapointed”. The list is amazing, and and also historic as well. PD cannot include every car that everyone wants to see in the game because they cant include every car made in the history of mankind!!!!! Over 1000 amazing cars for Gran Turismo, and many of you guys are acting like you dont deserve 1.

    1. JH

Gaming25 right on my friend you speak the truth!! Way too much negativity on here. These people have been waiting for a release date, car list, track list. Here it is! No lets complain about? I don’t understand the way people think.

Sony/Poly great job with the game! I want mine and I will buy several more just because I can afford too!!:0

    2. occasionalracer

+ONE Straight…Go to your mommy and get some milk (always room for improvement for the future) 12 days hahaha

    3. sommerlund

Totally agree:) People whant every car made, and the game in no time. Quality takes time, too many developers dosen`t use the time they should.
This game will be so big and full of gamplay hours and state of the art Technology:)
DLC is always welcome though, I´d like the option to make my cars more personally looking at some point, maybe just with my PSN name. But hey maybe it`s allready in, I don`t know that yet.
Looking forward reading some reviews, hopefully very soon:) I fell like a little boy at christmas:)

    5. JayKayEm

Its not a thousand cars though, technically.

When the list has (for example) Vauxhall/Opel duplication and various versions of a BMW 120, this 1000 car statement is weak.

  58. Godmoc

After one hour or so reading the full list, i´m very happy but i can´t understand why the hell the F40 isn´t a Premium…

    1. J-KiLLA24

That what i was saying. Maybe it’s a little typo Jordan made because the F40 was in GT5P and it had a cockpit view. Wierd. O_o

  59. Rob

    No TVR Sagaris :(
    No Aston Martin DBS :(
    No Mini Countryman :(
    No Mini Clubman :(
    No new Land Rovers :(

    Standard Veyron :( !

    1. Faz

I’m with you on the DBS. I was looking forward to maybe seeing the new Astons. Instead we have the exact same ons from GT4 and GTPSP.

      Lame.

  60. oalithgow

So what happend to this cars ?? :

    …………KOENIGSEGG CCX ?? ( i wanted gt5 only for this one )
    …………Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni ??
    …………BMW M3 1987 ??
    …………PAGANI ZONDA F” ??
    …………NISSAN PULSAR N1 ??
    …………NISSAN PULSAR GTI-R ??

  61. MitsuStigi

Reading all the Standard vs. Premium comments, honestly, I don’t really care about it. As long as the car is there. It’s like, standard = FM3. :D

Seriously, I gave the list a second look and it is quite good we have Furai, McLaren F1, M3 CSL, Camaro SS ’10, Stingray, 430 Scuderia, 330 P4 and many, many others.

  62. Dude27

SOOOOO disappointing, a lot of ’08-10 missing and all these old 50-60 cars of same model…. F3 have less cars but at least they are updated to date and they are cars WE WANT TO DRIVE…

Reading all these news, it’s just so disappointing… it’s like they wanted to stuff GT like a goose but with half-cooked new features that other competition do already better. At the end, a very strange mixture with so much flaws that it will surely get deserved low critics like the PSP release. Too late, too badly stuffed= too disappointing…

    1. JH

Dude27, your rights to post anything in regards to GT5 should be terminated. Nobody that I know wants to drive a ford mustang. period.

This is the greatest racing game of all time, you don’t even have it in your hands yet. But no Ford mustang so it deserves low ratings..

      I disagree.

The game is going to rock. Who cares about ratings? No one.

    1. Praggia

Doesnt matter what the final number of cars are if half the list is made of what are basicaly duplicates….i mean how many versions of the skyline do u wanna drive??

This is very disappointing to say the least.
The same goes for the tracklist as well.

      5+ years in the making?????

    2. occasionalracer

Quality over quantity… at the end of the day this is a game meant to give the thrill of racing, and not show off your virtual richness. There is enough to race your heart out and I don’t think there is THAT much of a difference between good sports cars, almost any car can be tuned to compete well within the same final second. It’s of course all about personal love for certain cars because of their looks or history. I’m not saying that some cars aren’t built better than others but c’mon it’s like people think racing can’t be fun without a certain car…it’s almost the same as far as the feeling goes for their respective drivetrain layout, so let’s just enjoy racing online in HD with even more refined physics and FFB feed and weather, night, snow and all other goodies.

  63. bucketseat

    Yipee…my car is in there!!!!
    Pontiac Solstice!!!
Too bad about the other Pontiacs but I’m not going to complain!

    1. Jakemania

I have an 01 Accord. The 00 will be close enough in game. Too bad it doesn’t have a cockpit, it would be nice to compare it to what I have, considering I can’t race in real life. Well, not legally anyways haha.

  64. Sigmaviper11

The Veyron is standard. Lolz. I guess I can gor for more standard cars. I just want more cars. They don’t ned interiors for me. As long as the GT series has been around, I can respect the bumper view. I mean, I didn’t see Vector, no road version TS020, no Venturi. Hmm. . . I’m not complaining I’m just hoping and wanting more!!! C’mon, more cars!!! However there are several nice new additions to the list. See what GT has in about 2 weeks.

  65. Philmangt

F10, f2007, formula gran turismo. Hopefully that means we’ll have some variation in the f1 races. that was the worst in gt4 just having a field full of formula gran turismos lol

  66. Bolg

Where are all the hot hatches like the new Focus RS, new Civic Type R, VW Scirocco R, Renault Megan R26r, Vauxhall Astra VXR etc. and all the new Audi’s? There are a lot of fundamental cars missing than I was expecting.

  67. RUstAuSi

Most of the old Skylines, 3000GTs, MX-5s etc will be in used car dealerships anyway, so you will barely see them.
And if you want a Skyline, there will be at least one in the Used Dealership because, well, there’s 51 of them! There’s always gonna be one Skyline there!

    1. Jakemania

It’s standard – if you look at the list, the “S” or “P” in front of the name denotes whether they are standard or premium. The Escudo has an “S”.

  68. Jump_Ace

Anyone notice numbers 307 and 308 are duplicates?

    307. S Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car
    308. S Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car

I noticed this when I was updating my GT5 Race Generator.

    Jerome

    1. Enciah

there is duplicate, but not this one.

      350Z/300ZX and fairlaidy Z33 Z34 ; silvia S14 silvia S13 and 180 SX 200SX ; Lutécias and clios…

man i was really hoping to see an E30 or E36 m3 and Ferrari 360 or the old 308’s :< I'm surprised the new HSV isn't even added.

  70. PaTrond

I have to admit that Forza beats GT in some ways here.. =(
I expected Zonda F, Aston Martin DBS and BMW Z4 2010/11 to be there.
I’m sad that the Ferrari F50, Aston Martin DBS, Toyota GT-One Road Car, Pagani Zonda F, BMW Z4 2011 and no Land Rover at all (except for a more or less worhless concept) aren’t there.
Car’s that surprises me that aren’t there, excluding those I’ve already mentioned:
    – BMW M6
    – Ferrari 250 Testarossa
    – Ferrari 250 GTO
    – Aston Martin DB5
    – Land Rover Range Rover
    – Ford Mustang 1969
    – Gumpert Apollo
    – Koenigsegg CCX
    – Alfa Romeo 159
    – Any of Red Bull’s F1 cars!!!

  71. pLiDeX_uy

    very disappointed with the list..

i counted the premium cars, there are 223 (counting repeated cars like the race cars of different teams)

    1. Traviizter

Why the heck would you want 51 Skyline versions? The Fiat 500 triggered the small car industry. And the Skyline did..?

    2. Traviizter

What about the Supra? No? The early Celica, perhaps? Even if the Skyline was as you said, it doesn’t deserve 51 of the same car. And they’re all practically the same (R32s are the same, R33s are the same, R34s are the same etc..) and only a few of them are Premium. What a waste of time.

  72. Spaghettimonster

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The Z3 M is out??!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! So you probably cant transfer it from gtpsp??????

  73. johnandbuddy

NNNOOOOooo first i find out im gonna be out of town for the week the game comes out and then i find that my car is not in the game. WTF i have a 05 Mazdaspeed Mx-5 miata how is that not in the game it is the fastest miata/mx-5 to ever be produced. the have around 35 Miata/Mx-5s but not the best one. WTF this is a big downer. still gonna be the best game ever but man how are you not going to have the quintessential best of one of the best Japanese Track car in history. KAZ read My POST PLZ and add the 04-05 Mazda Mx-5 mazdaspeed miata or in japan the Mazda Roadster Turbo. PPPPLLLLZZZZZZ. im gonna tweet him :)

  74. Aero-R

    Oh, no Starion again.. u_u

They still have only the rally Starion, but not the widebody road one they featured on the WE LOVE CARS trailer. Another installment more without enjoying my own car on a GT. I don’t know why such a classic of the japanese turbo scene is not featured on GT.

  75. Michael

FERRARI F40 listed as PREMIUM on the official site

That clears that up. Maybe GT Planet made a mistake when copying the list, or PD did and it was fixed.

  76. Johan

Disappointed with this list… Too many cars that already were in GT4.. Too few new cars… I don’t care about most of the premium models at all.. I’m thinking of cancelling my CE..

  77. brainfade

there is ALOT missing, im sorry but i actually find this insulting, i hope Polyphony has plans to actively update the car list

    1. John

Oh they will update it, and it will cost you. What a rip off. This feels like someone taking a present they gave you 6 years ago and putting it in a new box. Major let down.

    2. Cool cat

I’m glad I saw this frankly disappointing car list – I will just wait for GT6 – which apparently will be coming out ‘much sooner than expected’ – since I’ve just spoiled the game for myself. Being a uni student also means – less distractions and more time to study. Hooray!!!

  78. tonediary

Man i really dont see why we need so many of the same cars with different versions… So this is how they reach a 1000 cars? No thanks. Give me 400 cars with each of them being a different car instead.

    1. JC2006

Sorry tonediary, this isn’t a reply to your post but it won’t let me make my own comment for some reason.

One thing I’m not seeing in this list is the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, yet on the Top Gear magazine feature page for Gran Turismo 5, there was one clearly on the screen

    2. AGNT009

DLC JC2006. There HAS to be. There are too many plot holes in their official track and car list for there not to be. You just backed up that point too with your Gullwing observation.

    3. tonediary

Hmm nice observation.. But still , with dozens of unnecessary cars , this list is a huge letdown for me except some cars especially the stock premium AP2 S2000 which made me super happy.. Still gonna have good times for a long time playing it.

    4. tonediary

      I mean explain me this..
      S BMW 120d ‘04
      S BMW 120i ‘04

So we can care about fuel consumption by getting the diesel version? What a joke.

    5. JC2006

I actually found the Gullwing, it’s listed as a Mercedes 300 SL, the 300 and the SL were separated and it wasn’t listed as a gullwing, so my search didn’t find it. My mistake.

But still, I do hope there’s DLC, despite some personal gems in there, such as the Mach 1, the Gullwing, the E-Type Jaguar, even if the E-type is standard.

    6. JayKayEm

tonediary – Your highlighting of the two 120 models is beyond reasoning. No wonder they can brag about 1000 cars!

Perhaps they should add a few more 120’s… with and without a tow bar perhaps?

  79. AGNT009

Yeah, Im waiting for the DLC ball to drop. Theres NO WAY Sony doesnt have something in their pocket for DLC. Im predicting a Ford Mustang DLC Pack with a few Roush Mustangs included. Jack Roush let #99 Carl Edwards in, but didnt take the chance to advertise a Roush mod Ford? The fact that no new Mustangs AT ALL are a HUGE sign that some DLC surprises are coming….

    1. AGNT009

No, I could care less about the Mustang. Im just saying how do you NOT have at least 1 new model in there, the most epic Mustang in decades. That to me is the biggest sign that “no DLC” is a bull face lie, from a company of known liars

    2. jongtmustang

I would definitely buy a mustang car pack. My mustang is a premium…the 07, but the fox body,94-98,03 cobra, saleen, roush, gt500,11′ gt350 and the new 11′ 5.0 and even the v6 model are all left out. That’s only the mustangs! What about cobalt ss,transam, ctsv,Porsche panamera, saleen raptor and 08 charger? What about diesel trucks? This game is great but is missing a lot of great new American cars. Forza3 does have way more newer cars but no matter what I know this still kills Forza 3 in every other way. Great job Jordan thanks for all you have done here. :-)

    3. James

You’re wrong JH i would like to drive some mustangs too. That makes two of us and i am sure that there are many more!

  80. occasionalracer

Ok there are too many people here complaining about cars missing and rightly so, I’m was dearly anticipating some more iconic European cars. But let’s just think about all the work PD has put into upscaling and refining everything at 1080p and think about that if they left out cars from GT4 that certain people will always want a certain version of a Skyline. The difference of new additions should be much bigger for GT6 because they’ll have so much more time to dedicate to new cars and won’t have to touch the 800 old cars cause 1080p isn’t going away for at least 15 years. They’ve worked everyday for 5-6 years and everyone should just appreciate this, and yes hopefully they’ll have some DLC but they gotta save some for the future.

  81. nunocardoso

    i love the ford gt
it is awsome and the mucle car that won the gt awards :)
    i still got my gt4
yes, the graphics are out date, but sometimes it feels real
and the graphics of gt5 are ridiculous.ARE JUST FROM ANOTHER LEVEL. LIKE PS4 graphics :O. the ps3 is in trouble:)
im going to wait to buy the ps4 and buy probably GT6
GT5 is going to be a game for many years. like 5.

  82. AGNT009

With all the DLC whoring EVERY game has come to, can we really believe Sony let Kaz NOT have DLC in their pocket for us to pay for and make more money? I cant see Sony happy with only getting their share of the $60 and thats it. Especially since their servers will be slammed 24/7 for the next 3 years at least. So, we will either get crappy servers, or Sony WILL find a way to get more money out of us.

This isnt the end of the story….

    1. CaliBoy1990

@AGNT009: Well, there’s going to be DLC, but Kaz really wanted it to be free………whether or not Sony will oblige, only time will tell.

  83. John

I would rather have the game without all of the old cars. What’s worse is that they are all standards, not even new, fully modeled versions!!!

  84. John

18 BMWs and 150 Nissans. Huge let down. I almost don’t car about the old cars at all, there are so many new cars that I want FAR MORE.

  85. AGNT009

I guess Im the only guy whinning about NASCAR, unless I missed something before me.

ONLY 11 NASCAR Stock cars for a 16 car field? AWKWARD!!!!

    NO Sears Point?

    Wasnt Texas Motor Speedway confirmed?

Unless I can pull something NASCARish out of the track creator, this is so barely NASCAR they shouldnt have even bothered.

    1. Nuclearfire

Texas was where Kaz went and saw a NASCAR race and decided to add it to GT, it was never talked about being one of the tracks from what i remember.

Their are 12 different NASCAR cars and 11 different numbers if you count Joey Logano #20 Gamestop car pre order bonus from Gamestop. It’s not listed on the car list

I agree about the lack of oval tracks i though for sure the Twin Ring Motegi would be in since it has the oval (and is a good road track also) and Infineon Raceway cause it is one road track that NASCAR actually race on, i guess the Test Course oval did not make a return with NASCAR that could have been used as on oval race as in GT4.

Evin without those tracks i can not wait for the game to come out.
The only thing im curious about is why are their standard and premiums of the same cars in the game

  86. Turbo_3800

Ummmmm this list is boring, I really don’t see anybody owning all those MX-5’s, RX-7’s, 3000gt’s, S2K’s and having 50,000 Skylines is nothing new for GT so that doesn’t bother me. The Ferrari and Lamborghini list is ok especially 1st introduction into the GT ok for starters but mostly uneventful. We waited and waited basically for updated graphics and new features never before seen in the series. Me personally I think PD should have a US division and EURO division dedicated to their regions that way we’ll have cars we want that should have made it into this game like the CTS-V! or B7 RS4. I do think we’ll get more cars through DLC or game updates but not much and GT6 will be comprised of new cars we been wanting that’s not here. And yes I’m complaining, getting all excited only to see 90% of the same cars. Shot down my excitement by 60% lol I guess we can only take what’s given.

  87. Red_9

Judging by the discrepencies where certain cars have been seen with cockpits but are listed as standard here once again leads me to think this isn’t exactly a wholly correct list.

  88. scoop2004

Mazda MX5 is a standard car apparently. So that interior replay view we seen the other day means all interiors may be modelled for replay views (but maybe not in a good enough detail to actually race from this view?)

    1. Fahrergott

Yeah seriously. Forza 3 has almost had more cars released in expansion packs than GT5 has included (Not including the cars made 3-4 years ago for GT-HD, GT5:P.

  89. scoop2004

Its not hard to get 1000+ cars in a game when THIRTEEN of them are Honda S2000s, I wonder how many different body designs actually feature in this game since there are a lot of repeated cars, 4 Civic SiR II for instance.

And no real new european cars, no vauxhalls, no VWs.

It will be good, but I really was expecting better

    1. ddl8

man, even though there are repetition still there is a lot of cars to drive, chill down man, be happy u gonna get the game and enjoy driving it.

  90. Point432

this car list is just old junk! no Genesis Coupe??? didn’t see it in this monster list. it might be there hiding behind the millions of Nissans and Mazdas. Come on PD! we don’t want tons of different variations of the same car. Forza might have less cars, but its got all the stuff ppl want. Being a Mopar fan, is there not one Dodge stockcar that could of been used? All the Mopar vehicles are just garbage…old stuff like the Ram 1500 quad cab. Who in the world wants that. Why not a Viper Truck! 2003 SRT4…the good year i think was 05-06.

Yes I know that ppl will never be happy, but why does it take so long to get more quality rides. And i think a lot of ppl are fed up with the million different versions of one car. Its getting old.

    1. seanyb505

Cant echo this enough. I know there are a thousand cars. However I could do without the duplicates. And I know its a Japanese game and all, but 30% of the total count is padded by no substance cars. It looks old, like Ive seen this list five years ago when it first came out. I cant label this as the best driving simulator at the moment. Quite dissappointing really. How many years and you really only managed to recreate the last version? I dont feel this is a goal I set up. I grew up playing the GT series. It conditioned me. This list just makes it easier for me to not run out and buy it the second it’s out. I know I can play GT4 and get 85% of the same stuff. $360 dollars isnt worth it to me for 180 actually new to me cars, and less tracks. This game doesnt have 71 tracks. Im going to say 35 tracks. Reverse, chopping off half the circuit, or taking out a chicane does not warrant it being a different track. It is no longer of great concern for me to play this game.

    2. Flavio Briatore

I agree with both posts here. Great point about the Ram btw, WTF is there no SRT-10? None of the monster Duramax and Power Stroke diesels. Add to that no Caddy CTS-V, E30 M3, F50, we can go on all night. The lack of quality tracks is alarming, I mean, London and Eiger? They dumped El Capitan and Midfield Raceway for these ‘tracks’! What a joke! Gotta laugh.

  91. Geo_212

I am disappointed with no 2010 Mustang… no new Solstice… And I was really hoping the Veyron would be Premium… but let’s just hope for DLC! :)

6 cars in the list, in reality it’s 3 (for PD 3 cars, with 2 market name = 6) SHAME

    1. UnkaD

If Porsche sucks so much, then why have they won everything they have ever participated in, including endurance rally. I really mean everything. If they haven’t won, it just means they haven’t tried. Everyone makes a big deal about Ford versus Ferrari at Le Mans, when Porsche had a car that they could never match. The 917, if you’re interested in looking it up. =^.^=

    2. JayKayEm

Porsche do not ‘suck’ per se.

Porsche have made some terrible decisions since 2000 – Diesel Cayenne? Ugly Panamera?

But in summary of their history since world war 2, ‘suck’ is a bit harsh.

A 993 GT2 is one of the coolest cars ever. Period.

  93. Colin

I was hoping for abit more Cars made from 2005 – 2010 on the list.

    Somewhat dissapointed in that respect.

    Ah well, There’s always GT6 :p

Will still enjoy the game no doubt :)

Here’s hoping for DLC and Car packs

    1. Geo_212

      @Magic Ayrton
Just be quiet and wait to see if DLC is available in the future. If not, complaining won’t help anything.

  94. emponator

Lack of street going Diablo and any version of the greatest car of all time (Ferrari F50) makes me a sad panda. PD could take their heads from their asses and improve the car list for GT6 a LOT! 10 versions of essentially same car (S2000), no-one is going to use the standard versions either when one of them is premium. But 12 Ferraris total?

    1. Mattycakes

      @JH
dude, just stop talking. Youre making yourself look like an idiot. we get it, you like japanese cars. But this game isnt meant for just you. But the simple fact is, is that the best car to ever come out of japan is the GTR, and there is a mighty large list of european and american cars that would destroy the GTR on the track.

  95. JH

Whining needs to stop, grow up. Drive the cars that are on the list. Over a thousand! Drive the new tracks, race online. Mod your car. Have fun. It’s too bad the game doesn’t include your strange off brand car no one has heard of. Life is not perfect. The game does not need to be filled with one off supercars.

    1. JH

I see what your saying. Ten years? I know it feels like a long time. But in respect to Sony. I have played two GT games for PS3 since I had it in 07. The free HD demo, which provided hours of entertainment for free! Then proluge which kept me busy for the last two years. So really it’s only been a two year wait. Just my opinion sir.

Do we really need that many Mitsubishi Lancers?

    1. Turbo_3800

lol guess PD figured since early-mid 90’s lancers had different pinstripe and super big fog light combinations with little driving differences that they should be in the game lmao

    1. snaketus

That still doesn’t explain the old Miata seen in the very first leaked gameplay video that had cockpit view, and it’s listed as standard on the official site too. I don’t know what to believe anymore. Just wating Nov 24 and see.

  97. SK360

No new cool Pontiacs, Holdens, Vauxhalls or even the Cobalt SS/TC…

    What a let down,

Atleast I can have 57 skylines and Miatas.

  98. ssupr@96

I think the list is somewhat dissapointing. No hyundai Genisis but 100 Mazda cars? Only 20 Chevrolet’s which means none from the scca or trans-series except the corvette, then mercedez has no recent touring cars except the clk. Hopefully once we own these cars, customization and sponsorship will play a major role. I’m a DTM fan but I don’t want to race the same gt4 cars. I’m thankful for a realease date, now keep your word Sony.

  99. Jos

i’ve never played a gran turismo game before so for me seeing this list is just plain ridiculous, look at all the double cars!

no wonder gt has so many cars!

  100. JH

Awesome list altogether! Love the amount of Japanese cars in the game. I would love if there were no american or euro trash in the game! Thank you Kaz!

  101. Olsson

If there isn´t any bonus cars, or future downloads, then the list is a huge disapointment. The Janapanese have been very much favoured here. What in gods name have they been doing with there time during production!!!

    1. Rod

I think even with DLC it’s a disappointment…To make it a good car list with the help DLC I’d have to spend as much as I spent buying the damn thing…

  102. adam

I’m a little annoyed that the Renaultsport Clio 197 R27 (the car I drive) wont be in the game. We might be able to finally settle the score what’s better the Civic Type-R or the Clio 197 Cup/200 Cup. The Civic maybe faster but the Clio will drive circle’s round it in the corners. This is the only thing I wanted out of the game but i’ll still enjoy it so much!!

    1. Stune

Yeah its frustrating not to have the car you drive in real life. I drive an Alfa Mito which has a few evenly match rivals performance wise as well. Still at least you have some cool Clios in there, i used to own a 60hp 1.2 one lol

    2. Faz

Yeah man, I drive a RenaultSport Clio 182, and that’s never been on the game.

Neither is the Clio 200, or new Aston V8 Vantage (the baby Aston).

Same list as GT4, but with a few Ferraris and Lambos.

      Disappointed.

  103. Schumito

PEOPLE!!! DON’T COMPLAIN! KAZ MIGHT BE READING THE FORUM AND HE MIGHT STOP THE RELEASE OF THE GAME UNTIL HE MODIFIES IT :P

THANKS KAZ, LEAVE THE PEOPLE COMPLAINING.

  104. Jcmc

Roughly 10% of the entire car list is comprised of Mazdas. Roughly 2% of the entire car list is comprised of just the MX-5 model.

Now I am sure we all accept there will be a natural Japanese car bias by a Japanese developer but this is overkill. The difference between all of these models is so minimal that it is really worthless putting them all in the game as the user will hardly be able to discern any real driving difference between them all.

Sometimes less is more. You could probably distil the entire useful history of Mazda into under 20 cars, the rest are just litter which will get in the way during front end navigation and garage management.

    1. Devin Jones

      THANK YOU!!!
so tru..who tf needs 40 versions of the same car with SLIGHT variations…put like 10 and the other 30 cars can be used for NEWER cars

  105. CaliBoy1990

Sounds pretty decent but whatever happened to the late model C3{’82, I think?} that appeared in the intro video? Musta had to cut it out at the last minute or something………….ah well, at least the ’70s Mustang has been confirmed. =)

    {I do hope the ’82 ‘Vette will be DLC, though………that was one of my all-time favorites in GT2.}

  106. GMW

C63 AMG is in and premium! I hope it sounds close to the real one. Youtube it in case you’ve never heard the thunder/music from its quad pipes. One of the best sounding V8s ever!

I’m really curious on the standard cars interior views based on the Miata Youtube video.

  107. BOB

shame, would have liked the most awesome and beutifulest car ever, the ferrari 275 gts. BUT THANK GOODNESS THEY HAVE ALL THOSE MAZDA’S !!!! …. *cough*

  108. ralph89

Is this what GT5 is about? Good news, bad news, good news, bad news, good news, bad news…etc etc.. WTF????!!!!! Even though I didn’t look at the car list, I can see some disappointed people.. I hope there’s some huge surprise, cause this is ridiculouse. No new Civic type R, no Genesis, no Corvette C6R? Really? I hope the racing mod for C6 Z06 will change that….

    1. Traviizter

  110. JeanR

    A few comments:

    – Is this list for all markets? Or will it have a few changes for Europe and USA? (as seen before…)
    – Ok, we have a few cars on “S” or “P” config. The “P” will be more expensive??? :)
    – Too sad Veyron is Standard… Well, at least it’s in the game.
    – The Catherham is back! I just hope this time we can use it on races (unlike on GT4…)
    – The “Dodge Viper GTS-R Team Oreca Race Car ‘00” appears twice (#176 and #177)
    – Again, 4 60’s Fiat 500 and no Abarth…
    – Jay Leno Tank Car again?! At least the 60’s Daihatsu Midget, the Ford T and the 1800’s Mercedes are gone…
    – “RM” is for Race Model/Modifed/Modifiable? Only 17 RM cars:
    Acura NSX ‘91,
    Chevrolet Camaro SS ‘10,
    Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ‘69,
    Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) ‘06,
    Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) ‘09,
    Dodge Challenger R/T ‘70,
Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EK) ‘97,
    Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5) ‘04,
    Lexus IS F ‘07,
    Lotus Elise ‘96,
    Lotus Elise 111R ‘04,
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR ‘05,
    Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (S15) ‘02,
Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STI spec C Type RA ‘05,
    Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) ‘95,
    TVR Tuscan Speed 6 ‘00,
    Volkswagen Golf IV GTI ‘01.
Only the ’69 Camaro doesn’t have a non-RM version. If not Race Model, then WTF is it?!
    – If the McLaren F1 is “P”, the Race Car could be a “P” too… I know the Race Car is carry over from GT4, and not a new model as most of the “P” cars, but…
    – Too bad the original Mini Cooper is the modern model and not the 60’s model. Will not be possible to race it on Classic Cars championships…
    – 4 Renault Clios and 4 Renault Lutecias (they are the same car, just different names!!! Maybe the Lutecia is right handed… :/ What makes NO DIFFERENCE as they are all “S” cars…)

  111. Michael

    Ok.. Here’s my rant

Ferrari – If you’re going to have a Ferrari license for the game make use of it. No F50, no 360, no 355, no 288 GTO, no 275 GTB, no 599 GTO, no FXX, and no Spiders!!!

Aston – No V12 Vantage, no DBS

Lamborghini – No road version of the Diablo? I don’t get this at all, they produced the car for 10+ years, it’s kind of significant

Ruf – Ok, there are no Porsches in the game, at least give us new Rufs or at the very least make the old ones premium

    Mercedes – No new SL

    Bugatti – VEYRON IS STANDARD!?!?

But at least we have 300 Skylines and EVO’s, that’s what really matters…

    1. GT5 - 180

      Aston – No One-77
      BMW – No E30 M3, no E39 M5
Mercedes – No CLS63 AMG, no SL65 AMG Black Series
Bugatti – No Veyron Super Sports

  112. pasigiri

Just by looking at this list, there is going to be a nice amount of cars as downloadable content. The Cadillac CTS-V and Coup. The Gallardo Superllegera, Koenigsegg, Lotus Exige, etc. I think this a GOOOOOD start.

    1. Stomach ache

      Indeed, F40 was Premium.

No new RUF’s..No Porsche.. Still pleased, but looks like they just haven’t bothered in that area :(

I thought as much there will be plenty of repeats.
I’m happy just to fill my garage with the top of the range models, or the best performance ones in their class.

    Finally, the wait is over….yeah…!!!

  115. Rod

I find it very disappointing that there aren’t many new street cars.
It’s awesome to race with Bugattis, Ferraris, etc. But Gran Turismo has always had part of its fame because of enabling you to race a Stilo against a Jazz, for an example, and yet, this time you only see everyday cars that were on GT4.

  116. idlestation

    # P McLaren F1 ‘94
    # P McLaren MP4-12C ‘10

+ the stealth version from the dlc?
Can’t wait to save up those credits =D

  117. Leo_328i

Lack of BMWs is disappointing but expected. I was hoping they would at least put the E36 M3 and E30 M3 as they are quite iconic cars and they were trying to make it a ‘museum’.

DLC will make up for sure! Glad they got over 1000 cars!

    1. NO E30 WHAT DA FOOK?

      Yeah, no E30 M3 and no E39 M5!!!! >:(
No Ferrari F50 but hey, we have over 130 Nissans! WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  118. Stune

Nice to finally get the list. There a appears to be some frustrating gaps despite the humongous car list. All the same its great to finally see what the game has to offer.

  119. Foxiol

And now i know one thing about this list…the difference between “Standard” and “Premium” is almost nothing…only damage and things like visuals and changing rims.Cause if for example the Ferrari F40 looks so damn good in Prologue and this is an Standard car…i love Standard cars!!And one more thing…they have cockpit view :D

    1. Foxiol

Look if they made the cockpit view of the cars in prologue is no reason for put it back in GT5…and almost all cars in prologue are Standard…thats why i´m think this.Could be.

  120. Traviizter

Yes! OWNAGE for the Fiat 500 and the Peugeot 207 GTi :’) But there are some cars which are missed out (Top Gear cars, hopefully DLC and some other cars :/) and some which should have been Premium (Veyron :/) but to be fair, I could not give one crap… the game is finally here with all its glory! And SSR7… oh what a treat that will be.. I see drift montages and enduros ready to be raced.. GT5.. GO! :D

  121. neb

No US market Nissan Maxima, or Altima… :( Yes, that’s 1000+ cars, but with so many repeating, and so many missing, I’m not too impressed… No Diablo, and F50, unless I missed them, but oh well, I’ll still have fun with some of the vehicles.

  122. whiteman

funny how we get a dozen models of some cars the cars like the camaro we can’t get a 2001 Z/28, 1LE Z/28 from any year or a ZL1.

    1. henban

…which means 5% of the cars and if every car would have been in so many variations we would have 20 models in different variations in total :D

Anyway, I am really happy now.

    2. Jcmc

Roughly 10% of the entire car list is Mazda. Roughly 2% of the entire car list is the MX5 model with minuscule variants alone. Now I am sure we all accept there is going to be a

  123. hrusa2

for cars with P/S. game has both models but it depends whitch model you buy or from whitch game you have it. if you transport cars from prologue they are premium but if you transport cars from gtpsp you get standard cars even when there are premium versions of these cars.

    1. ANFD

I’ve always said that more tracks will always give the game a longer life than 1031 cars will. I’d be happy with 500 cars. Accordingly, I find the car list to be more than adequate even though nearly one quarter (24.5%) of the cars are from 3 manufacturers …. Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda (even greater if you factor in the Mazdas & Nissans). I don’t have a problem with that. The only segment I find totally usesless is the 16 models of Daihatsu. Surely they could have had 4 or 5 and covered their bases.

  124. Bano

My only complain : not much up to cars. Veyron / f40 Standard. No pontiac transam …. And No Kia ceed, chevy Lacetti or Suzuki Liana ( to all topgear Fans) but i’m happy with every Other little detail of the game. Tik tak 12 days… And 4 – 5 Years for New Cars :0)

    1. Bandit1

I want a Trans Am so bad. And I really wish but the Veyron was premium. But those are small complaints I’m still super pumped and can’t wait!

  125. Venari

That GT pic contains images of the Works Triumph TR7 V8 rally car that Tony Pond used to hustle in the late ’70s/early ’80s.. It’s not in the list though… wossgoinon?

    1. JayKayEm

Haha! The red one with a bit of blue on the bonnet? Know what you mean. Saw it at Gaydon Motor Museum the other week. I can’t explain that one!

  126. stj

I’m realy disappointed! AE86 and JZA80 are standard. And whats up with that F40 it should be premium.

And the turbo a supra is a Premium model not standard like its on that list.

    1. blue cat

i think the F40 might be a mistake, i can’t imagine how it would be downgraded from prologue to a standard car miraculously.

But the ultimate disappointment in this list is the AE86s being standard. For such an important and popular tuning car it seems like a MASSIVE oversight/omission on PD’s behalf.

  127. MAidioPT

    TO ALL FANS !

    We gonna get a Suprise!
Because the video on youtube with the Mazda Miata had Cockpit view, and its a Standard Car !

And Prologue the F40 had Cockpit view and its Standard Car here…

So i think, all Cars got Cockpit view.

    Standard Low Details Cockpit!
    Premium High Details Cockpit!

    1. Ollie

Afraid the F40 thing was a typo here – the Jap website says it’s premium. I don’t know about the other comments you made :/

    1. Red

There was always a ton of miatas n00b. And I for one think they need more! they shouldn’t exclude cars because you think there are too many of one kind…

  128. Luke

Well of course many cars are from GT4. They won`t just throw out all the “old” cars because we already drove them. I think this list is amazing. You can prove me wrong by naming another racing game with a better car list.

But the AE86 being standard really is disappointing :( I was hoping to throw myself into the old cockpit with the 11.000 rev meter in front :)

  129. Whatbrown

So, there is not a single car or track that we didn’t already know about. What an unpleasant surprise and completely lackluster list.

  130. MAidioPT

Men this cant beeee…. or we have to get a Suprise! Because the video on youtube with the Mazda Miata had Cockpit view, and its a Standard Car !

and Prologue the F40 had Cockpit view and its standard car here…

so i think, all cars got cockpit view.

    Standard Low Details cockpit
    Premium High Details !

    1. CorteX

This car list is really disappointing. Many cars are copied straight out of GT4 and I don’t even know where to begin with listing all the great cars that are not in here, even though there are a million different versions of some Japanese cars.

Where is the DBS, the 599 GTO, all the Porsche’s, the RS5, the SL65 Black Series, the new E63, etc. etc.

  131. gunma36

Ok, list is great, but as we expected, there LOTS of great missing cars, no Abarths 8and they have license via Fiat), no old glorious rally cars as 037, Audi Quattro. No better Ferraris, BMWs (where’s ’80s M3?)…so many dlc to pay for, I hope.

  132. FaM

Ugh…over a 1000 cars but when I actually look at the list I see 20 variations of about 50 cars…and thats your 1000.
Celica’s and yaris’ but no mazda 3? The new mustang is left out but they have the new camaro?

I preordered this game because Im very excited…but the lack of some cars just baffles me. Im surprised they didnt have a variation of all the cars without power windows, and maybe some more without power door locks just to makde the car list higher ;P

  133. Chris

YESSSSSSSSS very nice list. Only things missing for me are the Cadillac CTS-V and 2011 Mustang 5.0

    but still. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

  134. F.G

Looking at that list, PD got it absolutely right not to make every car premium.

It would waste so much time making a premium model of a car that probably no one will drive. I mean, who gives a sh*t about a Peugeot 206 CC ‘01? Yes, it’s nice to have it in the game, but there would be no point spending countless hours detailing such a rubbish car.

Good job PD. Right on the money once again.

    1. Traviizter

The Peugeot 206 CC is in fact a very popular car here in the UK and France; it will for something for someone out there.

    2. Ollie

They may be popular in the UK but considering it’s known here as a ‘hairdresser’s car’, I doubt GT5 will share the same customer base. It really would have been pointless to include if all the people who like the car will never see it in the game anyway.

    3. Tvensky

allmost every car from France ir rubbish :) ok dont throw at me with tomatos (every petrolhead will agree with me) :))

    1. chez_white

Not having Cadiallac CTS-V, New Dodge Charger, or any of the cars for ‘stars in a reasonably priced car’ is full of fail. Like we need 15 3000GTs or even more than 1 Mitsu GTO?

    2. FaM

In agreement Fail on 100 variations of cars and then skipping cars like the new mustang (so beautiful compared to the 05-09). The new genesis coupe?. Take out the crap and duplicates and you have 50 cars worth a damn.

Not really complaining just pointing out the obvious…ill live.

    3. GT

I like the new Corvette Stringray 2011 concept. Wish it would have made the list! Saw this in person in Vegas few months ago.

  135. ghostrider135

Still too many Nissan Skylines for my liking why drop things like the Ford Model T when they could drop a Skyline or 10 :S

  136. V8Blender

epic. this day just gets better and better.

A lil disappointed we aint getin an audi rs5, the new cl63 amg, the TVR sagaris and the v12 vantage.

but that really doesn’t take much away from this extensive marvel.

GT5 will be the 8th wonder of the world.

  137. GT'ireland

im dissapointed there are no sierra or escort cosworth road cars but still an impressive-ish list, still going to be to date the best game of all time

    1. Interceptor

A Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 was the first car I looked for. Disappointed not to find one as I was sucked in by the early fake car list on which it appeared.

    1. Omamder5

Lol, Veyron is standard. Oh well, a bit of a loss. Come on, guys, we have 1000 cars to play with here! This is just fantastic!

  138. Jacek

We shouldnt get too caught up on the standard/premium thing…

Im sure standard cars will still be awesome to drive and look at

  139. David

The F40 is standard? I don’t get it, it’s in prologe (with of course interior modeled) so it is a premium, isn’t it?

  140. Sam

Volkswagen SambaBus is premium. Now I can die a happy man :-p (not) I’m happy at last to get some concrete information. As wrote before, I’d have been happy with 1/3 of this if it came out earlier.

  141. TJ

Don’t understand why none of the miatas are premium…? didn’t we see a cockpit in one in a video earlier this week? maybe i’m missing one…

    1. Traviizter

Two words: Racing. Mods. The 500 1.2 could be made into an Abarth (look/soundalike at least) via Racing Mods. Think man, think..

    2. Stune

Seems a bit strange to have the 69hp 1.2 version which my girlfriend will soon own as her first car and not the Abarth. Its clear many of the smaller post 08 cars have been ignored. No Alfa Romeo Mito and no VW Scirocco either :(

Clearly their research has only been towards the top end supercars but even then their are strange omissions. No Radical, koenigsegg and no Ferrari FXX or,599GTO and what happened to the 355 and 360. Some strange gaps

    3. Cagoen

In real life you can NOT tune the 1.2 or even the 1.4 to an Abarth. The Abarth now is a standalone brand…

It would be great to have GT5 with FM3 car list… :(

  142. shichi

gg to the people so excited about the car list they neglect to read the very first sentence only to ask what P and S stand for.

less than 2 weeks for GT5? carbon fiber is the new wood and I got it.

    1. Wed

We know the F40 has an interior and looks like a premium but it may lack damage hence standard designation.

Other cars on the list look premium quality too but may be lacking something like interior and damage.

  143. riph

Why Ruf got no premium type? instead they put premium on silvia k better they put at least one premium on RUF cars.little dissapointed.so no cockpit view on Ruf cars.

    1. Lyvan

You know…a Nissan Silvia is an iconic car in Japan…the producer is japanese, an enormous fan base is in Japan and well…how many people owns a RUF? is it in the same level of popularity as a Ferrari or Lambo…I guess not

    1. Ner0_sol03

So standards have cockpits? WOW. I DONT BELIEVE THAT. sorry dude its seems it is i just looked at the list P/S Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) ‘89
      P/S Mazda Eunos Roadster J-Limited (NA) ‘91
as u can see theres a p and s model. so they do not have cockpit views when there standard.

    2. MAidioPT

i still believe in Standard cars low details in cockpit.
Premium High details. That explains the Mazda Miata that had cockpit view in the Race we saw on Youtube.

    1. Rotard12a

      @twinspark24

Not quite, theres also the Silvia K’s (K for the Drift King Keichi Tsuchiya) and the AE86 Shuichi Shigeno (author of Initial D) :)

    1. Pingman

      Totally agree.

Also missing Ultima and only got on Caterham, the rather specialised ‘blade version! Where’s the R500?!

Fingers crossed they’ll appear as DLC :\

  144. madaz75

No FPV F6 Typhoon ’04 or FPV GT ’04??
    Crap.

Can’t have a proper races against Holden Commodore SS ‘04 or Holden Monaro CV8 ‘04

    1. SK360

      I agree… A very disappointing list.

No Pontiac love, no Holden love… Just the same old cars from GT4. No G8, no Ute, no Commodore… lame.

    2. eggs

I’m crying. But in all seriousness there seems to be about 1 premium of all the major/popular models, obviously not everyone will be happy, but I think this should keep most people happy.

    3. GT5Canuck

The Aussies (and Kiwis) care about Holdens…and there are a couple of models that are halfway decent. I don’t think any of the Vauxhalls are Holdens in disguise.

But looking at the immense number of slightly different models from Japanese makers, and then looking at the paucity of same from the Big Three (Two and a Half?) auto manufacturers in NA…even more than before it hits home how Nipponcentric this game is.

    4. kegs11

no actually, 51 is nowhere near. as said the mines r35 is a sweet ride that should be in, and what about the legendary r34 z tune? or surely there was more than one “black mask” skyline in its history? that said im happy for now with my stealth skyline, so 52 for me!

    5. GT5Canuck

Perhaps we should rename the game “GT5: Non-Skyline fans need not apply”?

I was wondering how many Nissan fanboyz had their hearts broken when they found out the movie “Skyline” was an “Independence Day” copy, and not a film devoted entirely to their car?

    6. Rotard12a

I’m sure all of you cynical douches would whine and complain about taxes if you won the lottery. We all know you’re going to buy the game, so just shut your faces and go get practicing for when the game comes out.

    7. tom

australia produce some pretty orsm cars and not many made the list even some from gt4 missed out, this sucks no utes either aussies just cant catch a break

    1. Ner0_sol03

wow. this is alot of cars. and o stop complaining about all the Japanese cars because the guy is form japan you know and these are his countries cars so respect them.

    2. jm1681

Honestly, I’m staring at that list, and inadvertently scratching my head.

I don’t want to question the choices of some of these premium cars for fear of crucifixion, but seriously, the Veyron is a standard model, and the VW Kubelwagen is premium?

A lot of their choices for premium models, honest-to-god just don’t make sense to me.

    3. Luke

I think in Kaz eyes the Veyron is nothing special. It`s fast damn fast car, but it`s nothing especially beautiful or historical about it like the SLS.
At least that`s the way i see it, the Veyron is nothing special for me and i wouldn`t mind if every single one of them explodes.

    4. Big Poppa

@Luke: Nothing historical about the VEYRON?

Wake up sonny Jim, it’s broken the production car land speed record -TWICE!

    5. jlsotos

damn glad mclaren´s are premium cars, ahd yeah it is funny how the veyron is not a premium car despite all the scandal that has caused

    6. Luke

      @Big Poppa
So what ? That doesn`t make it a race car. That car is only fast driving straight.

      Nordschleife:
      Veyron 7:40
      Zonda R 6:47

The Veyron is not build for racing, too heavy. And that`s probably why they never thought of the Veyron being Premium.

    1. niknac

      that sucks- big time!!
after beeing quite dissapointed by gt5p i started being ecxited bout gt5 when all those fake car lists showed up, just because they all included saabs.
c´mon pd saab may not be very important nowadays, but they
introduced turbochargers in production cars!!- so please include saabs in your next dlc.

    2. Autavia

@niknac. If I’m not mistaken Saab introduced the 99 Turbo in 1978, right? By that time BMW already cancelled production of the 2002 Turbo and went the 6-cylinder route with their new 3-series. Porsche introduced their 911 Turbo in 1974. By that time GM had spent the better part of a decade trying to forget their rear engined, six cylinder boxer car. The second much improved generation of Corvair, still plagued by it’s predecessors branding as unsafe, was indeed offered in a turbocharged version in 1966 or 1967, thereabouts…
      Production cars all.
Saab was the first to offer the turbocharger successfully in larger scale, however.

    3. JayKayEm

Saab deserve more respect. They have a Rally pedigree some manufacturers would die for. They pioneered reliable turbo technology in a production car.

      A red 1991 900 Carlsson rocks.

    1. andrewz

Both P and S at the same time (P/S) probably means there are both versions of the car. I guess it’s because you cannot have a race with premium and standard cars at the same time, so this is a little compensation in some cases…

    1. paytonlow

@Digolgrin I understand your point here, but that’s not a reasonable excuse. At least, most European gamers and petrol-heads will be utterly disappointed.

Don’t tell me Volks Wagon refuse to co-operate with PD on Veyron. lol

    1. andrewz

Both P and S at the same time (P/S) probably means there are both versions of the car. I guess it’s because you cannot have a race with premium and standard cars at the same time, so this is a little compensation in some cases…

    2. Tvensky

I think this is a half premium half standart car, nothing to do with driving together, they all could compete in one circuit.. thing is this could be some limitations like they damage like premium but dont have cock-pit view or the other way, have cock-pit and dont have proper damage..

    1. andrewz

@Codename6: The original carlist lists F40 as premium. I didn’t expected anything different. The Prologue version already looks awesome!

    2. IVKillerVI

I’m thinking it means that those cars will look like standards, in that they don’t have interior but can be modified as if they were premium.

    3. FlareKR

WHY?! Why is the Veyron standard. The best possible interior – neglected, and a F$%^ing Daihatsu – DAIHATSU – get’s premium?!?!?
My GT PSP collection of Veyrons has gone to waste!

    4. paytonlow

Strongly disagree PD made Veyron a Standard car!! >:(

Come on, Bugatti Veyron is one of the best production cars in the history. “Concorde of cars” said Clarkson of Top Gear (UK).

No wonder PD didn’t advertise the Veyron…*sign*

    2. pasigiri

@mickey – no Koenigsegg, Caparo T1, Audi RS4 ’08, Gumpert, Lotus Exige SC, Radical, or Zonda F either. Not complaining, but hopefully they’ll show up as downloadable content.

    3. Lucas180

I am kinda disappointed to see still old concept versions..like the Pontiac solstice for example? why is there not the last one they build ..and just the concept ? why no 2010 mustang ? but an 04? lol nothing really that new in this car list.. :/

    4. Gork

What!? No 1934 Duesenberg with pink fluffy dice and optional wood gas engine in the trunk? All the cool games have it. /sarcasm

No, unlike popular belief GT5 doesn’t have every single car ever produced in it.

    5. mickey

i would of expected at least one of these brit cars in, have you heard the Ascari A10 when tested by top gear(season 10 ep 9), it sounds like god gargling rusty nails(perfection). i do hope there is a ”regular” DLC for GT5.

    6. Blackninja

Just an observation. Out of 1,031 cars. There are only 80 cars that are 2010… this sounds funny… you will expect a more recent batch of cars. They have increased the Mazdas, Nissans, Hondas and Toyotas… It’s hilarios you have like 20 different Miatas?… Well I don’t want to be the devils advocate. I will be happy with the Ferrari F10 2010!!!

It could have been a better product strategy to drop the 20 Miatas and include the Mclaren Mercedes F1 and RedBull F1, but at least we are getting the RedBull-X1.

Can someone check if we are getting the Nissan300ZX racecar version, since this car won various racing series in the USA?

    7. MAERSK

The reason for the repetition is cause they’ve recycled data (cars) from GT4. Frankly I’d like to see some great JP classics from GT2. Hopefully that’s where GT6 shines.

    8. Blackninja

Guys, I did some research on the Gran-Turismo Japanese web site, and found something interesting, On Nov-24 the version that will be released in Japan is called: PlayStation ® 3 GRAN TURISMO 5 RACING PACK
Interesting, the list of cars and track are related to this product: it reads: “This product includes: list of cars, list of tracks”…
The web site adds: “On same day (Nov-24), additional GT5 announcements will be made…”
This may imply that the list of car and tracks that we have seen so far, are only what is available to be released… and that other downloadable content may be coming soon (more cars and tracks) kind of what happen with GT5 Prologue… Interesting

    9. oalithgow

So what happend to this cars ?? :

      …………KOENIGSEGG CCX ?? ( i wanted gt5 only for this one )
      …………Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni ??
      …………BMW M3 1987 ??
      …………PAGANI ZONDA F” ???
      …………NISSAN PULSAR N1 ???
      …………NISSAN PULSAR GTI-R ????

    10. Lsasqwach

If this was a japan only game it’d be great, but they barely acknowledge the rest of the world has car manufacturers too. I understand that kaz is Japanese and that’s cool, but only ha ing one Cadillac and no koenigsegg and many other non jp car makers is getting frustrating. I can’t wait to play this game!!!!!!

    11. Colt16v

Looks good, but im kinda dissapointed on the list for Mitsubishi. I was really hoping they would add the 1997/8 Galant VR-4 and 1992-1995 Mirage Cyborg, and why are there no standard Starion from 1989 with widebody?
