  1. Schumito

Well… I am not going to complain as such, even though I think that 27 is just too few tracks for a game of this size. However, we have to keep in mind the space limitations on the BR Disc since a track takes quite some space on the disc and takes quite some time to produce. However, If I had to make some points on the track list, here they are:

    – Monza, although I am a Ferrari Fan, hence Monza means a hack to me, it is not the most beautiful track in the World.

    – Spa Is. I would have included that without any considerations at all. It has all the features a track MUST have. Hair Pins, Fast Corners, Slow Corners, Chicanes and a long straight with loads of overtaking points.

    – Yas Marina – Abu Dhabi. Not only the F1 layout is beautiful, but in reality the track has multiple layouts which could form different tracks. It also has 2 padocks & Pitlanes.

    – Sorry PD, but something is not very nice: Nurburgring dry and Nurburgring Raining, is not 2 circuits, it is the same circuit but in wet conditions. You cannot consider that as a variation.

-Track Editor, while I have my doubts on how the track editor will work, it will definately not be a full blown track editor. Not complaining about this, but I am sure that PD will be working on a full blown Track Editor either as a DLC or else as the next massive feature for GT6.

    – On the whole, cannot really complain. I am used to drive on 19 F1 circuits. Having more with a good number of variations is definately a +.

    Thanks PD, Thanks KAZ.

  2. Tyger

Hmm yeah I will miss a few tracks, particularly El Capitan, Costa Di Amalfi, Citta Di Aria, Infineon if they aren’t in, also v surprised no New York or Seattle, and whilst I was never crazy about the rally stages in previous GTs (handling didn’t feel right) I had high hopes this time for a few good courses/tracks. Spa would be nice too.

BUT..surely we should really wait til we know 100% if there will be DLC or not? You’ve seen how some of the tracks are modelled now, how much surrounding detail there is…imagine a couple of the med tracks I mentioned above with beautiful buildings, yachts in the harbour etc. and if that Blu Ray really is full, well I would be more than happy to pay a few pounds/bucks to download some of the “missing” tracks at a later date, and they can sit on my HD

However if there is no DLC then I admit i will be mystified…this game could potentially last us for many years (it will probably have to!), but this list feels so limited, and in some ways, despite the quantity, the car list too (i’ve addressed that in the other thread)

Let’s reserve judgment for now though and not get hysterical =)

  3. Jack

A small handful of tracks from GT4 that I’ve already raced 1,000 times, and it’s missing most of my favorites like El Capitan, Hong Kong, Opera Paris, New York, Costa di Amalfi, and Citta di Aria. And a small handful of real life tracks – a selection that doesn’t begin to compare to what’s available in other games that have come out recently.

    Five years for this?

  4. BWX

I think I am going to cancel my Collector Edition and just order the regular GT5. WTF- we are going to get bored with only 27 tracks, many of which I AM already bored with from GT5p that had so few cars and tracks.

Damn.. if you take away GT5p cars, and GT5p tracks, then take away all standard cars that we’ve already seen in other games, what NEW CONTENT do we have here? NOT MUCH. Not 5 freaking years worth, that’s for sure.

I think Gran Turismo series is officially DEAD. Killed by what? I don’t know. Laziness? Greed? Is Japan as burdened with government regulations in the workplace as the rest of the modern world? Do all PD employees get 12 weeks paid vacation every year? Do they get smoke/coffee breaks every 2 hours? There must be a reason 5 years and 80 million dorrars and 140 people only produced 27 tracks.

Maybe Kaz just lost his touch? Maybe Kaz’s best days as a video game maker are well behind him? Everyone knows that the fewer the tracks, the less replay-ability there will be. KAZ knows this more than anyone, yet he spends all PD’s programming time on B-Spec mode and 3-D rendering and 300 miatas, skylines, lancers, etc.. WTF Kaz, WTF.

I knew GT5 was going to be great because there were going to be so many great tracks. I guess I was completely wrong. If there aren’t double the amount of tracks that got left off this list, this will be the smallest GT ever, besides GT5p- I don’t even count PSP.

All the cars in the world, all the special effects in the world, all the 3D, B-Spec mode, all the on-line racing in the world, all that BS doesn’t mean jack if we don’t have enough TRACKS to race on.

The “so-called” track generator doesn’t cut it.. I count that as one extra track because they will all be the same. You couldn’t just let us draw the freaking track out and use generic corners could you? No, then people could actually attempt to CREATE something. NO, you had to take out any HINT of creatively for the people who want to “MAKE” a track. That had to be on purpose, as well as this totally PITIFUL number of tracks included in GT5.

    GT5 — Got Tracks? 5

What a waste. Yeah I’ll still buy it, but GT5 won’t get played for as long as it could have by me or anyone. We’ll ALL get BORED with the tracks sooner or later. Only this time, unlike all the Gran Turismo series before it, it will be much sooner than later. That’s a shame.

  5. Addegj

After the release of the car/tracklists i no longer have this strong URGE for the game. Super disapointed acutally. I’ll put my pre-order on hold for now. Probably my loss but i’ll wait and see what the reviews will say :P

  6. nitro_c4

Well, it’s disappointing. I’m sure there are more tracks we’ve seen but aren’t in the list. Wasn’t Texas Motor Speedway confirmed? I thod I heard about it.

The car list is also missing cars. Not all the NASCAR race cars are there. Maybe I have to check it again, but I didn’t see every car.

1031 cars & 27 tracks. This will get pretty boring soon.

I hope online isn’t like Prologue. I hate Prologue online. You can’t miss a corner. Why can’t it just slow you down instead of waiting for 5 seconds PD?

  7. Luke

Wasn`t El Capitan on the track list video from a few days ago ? The one from the retail version of the game. Maybe i`m wrong, but i`m pretty sure it was included.

    1. gast1976

      you’re right Luke!!!
in a video i have seen el capitan too !!!
so maybe we will have the missing tracks on DLC or maybe we have to unlock them during the game…
      anybody can answer to that?

  8. Wallbreaker

I have taken a look into the official GT4 book where are 37 different tracks are listed (51 in all variations, 82 with backward and forward variations). So this CANNOT be everything and that is what came to my mind first, when I saw this list.

  9. Maxitsu

I still want opera Paris, such a great track. and others.

I should be very happy if all cars are standard, less details in tracks and cars, if there are less cars, less grahics, no weather, no damage, no time changes, no course maker. If the game only had more tracks. even not many tracks are whit time/weather. it just blows. did they 5 years for this? even F1 2010 has 19 tracks. they have to make it in a year. de graphics aren’t as good compared whit GT. But atleast all of them has mindblowing rain and wheather effects.

  10. Diesel Son

Gosh I hope midfield and twin ring and seattle are in the game by way of unlocking them but so far it looks good and I agree there should have been at least more brand new tracks to GT5.

  11. WTFnews

mayby this isnt all tracks becouse el captain is in the intro but it doesent stand here on the list so let’s see right?

  12. cwap

I have the feeling this isn’t what Kaz wanted to release. I think Soony just got tired of waiting and told him, ‘just release what you’ve got, we can’t stall for you anymore.’

    1. lado

That is a possible explanation why there are just so few new cars of the new generation and just 27 tracks and some with weather. Compared to 1031 cars 27 tracks are nothing, believe me GT5 will be boring after a time, not because of the cars, but of the tracks, the tracks will repeat more and more so you will be upset about it.

But: Remember the GT4 time. There were some more tracks that were discovered after you finished some special races like the “missions” and some others, so we can just hope that GT5 has much more than 30 other tracks “inside” the game to discover.

    2. CaliBoy1990

Maybe so, but there’s no way Sony couldn’t release any DLC after that………in fact, the only real opposition Kaz had was to stuff that wasn’t free, from what I can recall.

  13. jim247

I am somewhat disappointed. I was sure that we had seen more tracks such as Autumn Ring amongst others from previous versions that were going to be included – but I think that they have missed a trick by not including Spa – a track that is known to be one of the most challenging circuits and best loved by most racing drivers. I also wished that they had spent the time it took them to render the upscales of the 200 almost identical Sylines etc and keep it to just the best models and actually generate some more European/world cars from the current generation – perhaps current Audi S3, rs4, Alfa Mito, Giulietta cloverleaf, Punto Rally car (Kimi’s) latest M3 and M5. What about GT Class Astons DBS, DBR9, I don’ think they even got the current shape Civic or Seat touring car from BTCC and what about current GT tourers from WTCC. Car manufacturers are supposed to be struggling surely they need all the publicity they can get. This is one of the biggest franchises ever and all powerful Sony can’t even get Porsche to sign up. Now that they have Ferrari, Lambo, Merc, BMW, etc. Maybe we should all shame Porsche into joining. Are they frightened that 911 GT1/GT2/GT3 Boxster s/ Cayman won’t be good enough compared to rivals? This is GT, there has always been a mix of cars old and new, but for me this mix is getting a bit stale as there aren’t enough of the current generation of cars compared to an abundance of skylines.

    1. Racer Dee

I agree…they shouldn’t have spent more time upscaling and featuring the 200+ skylines in the game… because they’re almost just the same… They should’ve featured more iconic cars such as Benz Motor Patent Wagen. And also,I don’t think the “offical track list” has all the tracks that we are expecting such as Test course,Piazza del campo etc.

    2. jim247

Of course, this doesn’t mean that I am going to cancel my preorder. Still hugely excited about blasting around Deep Forest in a Tuscan or Gran Turismo S. Or flying around Nordschleif in the Pug FAP. Compared to my Grande Punto 1.4 crawling in city traffic everyday, I know that this game is still going to give me the buzz that GT always has. I just wanted it to go further. I remember when we got the Audi Le Mans proto, and thought, WOW – I wonder if this is going to be made – and lo it became the R8. There just seems to be something lacking.

  14. VeyronGlen

Once again i am dissapointed with the cars and now the tracks! SPA would have been nice, but where’s some of the classics gone?! Luckily i’ll be on the Top Gear Test Track all the time ehh…

  15. Spaghettimonster

i guess a lot of people said it already, but this list is disappointing. i was expecting grand canyon!!! – big time, spa!!! – very much. anyways, you probably can think of a lot others for yourself. and there is pretty much only ONE rallye track!?!?! i am getting dirt 2 today.

honestly. this is a joke. 1000 cars and 27 tracks? i count on gt5 that the tracks that are there are simply spectacular. :))

  16. Spykering

Was really hoping for Midfield Raceway, must say, the track list is a disappointment.
Maybe the track editor will make up for the downfall in track selection.

    1. Bigguy733

Yes but I don’t think we know how in depth this editor can go yet. If the editor goes into painful detail, expect to see full blown recreated circuits very close to PD quality. There are some very talented and creative people out there. However, I’m still hoping for DLC.

  17. Dave-o

very disappointing list. less tracks than GT4, shows that dynamic weather/time is not applicable to all tracks, and it’s cheating to say that the reverse direction is another variation to the track – it’s exactly the same track, you just drive it backwards. And it’s definitely cheating to call the nurb with weather, the nurb with weather and time as 2 different tracks.

    BS

    1. unoc

      partially agree…

It is definately very disappoinritng.. I was very much wanting and expecting spa specially after the 2009 december to jan 2010 trials was either going to be spa or indy, I presumed one would be shown now and the other in teh game.

The reverse’s aren’t full tracks in my book but they are different to drive and corners are taken differently. So they KIND OF count. But Weather and 24 hour as different variations?

Hell no, a variation of track is a variation of track. Not it’s raining hence this is as different as nurburgrin is to indy.

The other thing I don’t get is that it mentions several tracks twice without anything in brackets afterwards. Some like london have it twice and a 3rd with reverse.

      WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

And 27 different tracks in total. Given GT3 (the first ps2 game and less dev time), had more than half a dozen rally tracks alone, only 3 here seems quite weird. I was hoping for smokey mountain and co. I gues with the generator we have more, but I was hoping for more.

I’m really hoping GT6 comes in the next 2 years and features more tracks.

      + yay for deep forest

    2. Spaghettimonster

i would disagree. think about it. you get a perfectly shiny nurb with all its turns. this is a challenge in itself. then think about how all this changes once you add weather. i think its fair to call it a whole new challenge. but still, this is kind of weak. worse is the car list though, where they had one model in 10 versions. :))

  18. Red_9

There are actually a lot of missing tracks here. There are missing Intl. Tracks, Offroad Tracks and City Tracks, not to mention they’re missing tracks that they had said would be included, such as the karting Piazza del Campo track (the one with the removed flag).

I don’t understand this list at all.

  19. Litzner

I would have rather had more tracks, then day-night transitions. I am a bit disappointed with the limited track selection, but if we get the missing tracks from GT4 soon after as DLC, at a reasonable price, I will be very pleased. I think the content that is already included is well worth the $60 price tag.

  20. The_Aeon

This list isn’t complete, where’s the karting track from Sienna, where’s El Capitan and it’s dirt sectors (you can see the in the GT5 intro) and a lot of places we gess should be here (costa di amalfi, cita di aria, appricot hill, new york, test course, autum ring, etc.)???????

    1. Foxiol

Maybe, for example the Kart track is only for the event and not for use with cars (of course)…but then you can buy a kart to use in Circuits.Something like that.
And maybe those tracks are hidden. Like “black cars”…(hope)

  21. 2005pierric

Sooooooo happy to see the nurburgring will have day/night cycles and also weather… it’s going to be legend… wait for it… DAIRY ! defo worth the 6 years wait, I can’t believe how unfaire fanboys can be ! IT WILL STILL BE ONE HELL OF A GAME, stop whining everybody

  22. lado

It´s so disappointing, i excepted all GT4 tracks + new tracks, and what is shown… Some new tracks and reverse, weather separated tracks… Do we need 150 Nissans, where 40 of them are the same from different registration dates??

Some old BMW M3 or new CLS 65 AMG and E55 AMG BMW M5 ´10 something is missing… i hope for “free” DLC´s!!

Finally GT5 comes out and i can look forward to hold it in my hands :D

  23. Maxitsu

who says this is a “full” list?
    its a strange list.

    I think its strange list:

    – because it only has 3 Rally Tracks
    – only 3 ovals for Nasscar
    – Missing Kart tracks (even the Siena Circuit)
    – Missing seen in in old builds (El Capitan, Motegi, Infineon, Grand Valley, Grand Canyon,…)
    – Missing The Test course which is in every GT-game.

offcourse there is de circuit maker. but i don’t care for that.

    1. Andy89

I’m not sure that’s the complete list… where is Tokyo? I’m sure I’ve seen that in the intro movie, same for El Capitain… It’s strange, to me this isn’t the full list…

  24. Maxitsu

This is not good, no El capitan, Spa, New York, Seattle, Infineon, Test Course, Capri di Amalfi, Seoel, Hong kong, Opera Paris!!!

    is this a full list?

  25. John Marine

I’m okay with the track list. Not going to go on a rant, but I’m very okay with the combination of real-world and fantasy courses. The Course Maker will be a lovely touch unless there aren’t enough interesting courses. I never have sky-high hopes or seriously high expectations. So I’m okay for the most part.

Forgive me if I don’t go on some sort of serious rage like most other people, but I am fairly okay with all of this.

  26. dids

Sorry but i don´t trust very much in the GT5 track list gave by PD ,it doesn´t just make sense….

When Gt4 came out it would have 50 tracks (and reversed ones didn´t count)

I counted 53 tracks without the reverse ones and PD said that the game was going to have 70 tracks…

    Now there is 2 things

The other tracks from older GT´s are going to be in gt5 aswell

    or

the reverse tracks are part of the 70 track list in gt5

    i´m just saying….

    1. rawr89

can’t believe this is all the tracks. only 3 locations for dirt and snow? GT PSP had more dirt and snow tracks than this one.

  27. Foxiol

This game is the best in all ways. But is one more in the GT series and this one show us a lot of things that Gran Turismo 6 will have. And is under development…just enjoy this GRAN TURISMO 5 and stop talking rubbish about it.

    1. cwap

I can’t remember. Does grief follow denial? Or was it anger?
Doesn’t matter, either way your currently in denial. We can just watch you to see what comes next….XD

    1. Diesel Son

I prey they have midfield some how hidden in the game an no twing ring man this is shaping up the right way lets they are just holding back on us.

  28. McSmith

This doesn’t necessarily mean that there will not be a test course or 1000m drag right? Maybe these are just the racing tracks and there could be more just for testing of something…
i don’t know but i can’t imagine the abscence of something as simple as a straight line to max speed…

  29. timcp

I can’t believe this is the whole tracklist.
Didn’t they acquire a WRC license? And now there are 3 Rally Tracks, one of which is snow?
Is there a possibility of error or has it been confirmed by means of one of the leaked copies that these are all the tracks in the game?
Also I don’t seem to find that circular karting track in the list (you know the one in Italy where the small town went crazy because their city’s emblem could be seen on the flags) or did I miss it?

    1. Red_9

Toscana is the only rally track, though there is a rally segment with randomly generated rally courses.

Also, I think some are missing from here, because the Test Track oval and Las Vegas drag strip are missing, and both are essential to performance testing. Therefore I make the assumption that this list is incorrect.

    2. ChunKie

The track editor will basically generate all the random rally stages you want albeit a few landscapes only. About the drag strip. I’m sure you can set the track editor to no turns and point to point, and that would get you a straight line to do drag races in.

  30. dearlybeloved

I am going to miss Opera Paris. The reason being that I loved that little kink after the long straight midway through the track. The amount of times that I so wanted to take that corner full-pelt without crashing the is lost on me so I was hoping that it would be covered in GT5 and now with visual damage, it would have made the game brilliant for me. I hope that I can find another corner like that in this iteration of the game.

    Peace out.

    1. 2005pierric

Sooooooo happy to see the nurburgring will have day/night cycles and also weather… it’s going to be legend… wait for it… DAIRY ! defo worth the 6 years wait, I can’t believe how unfaire fanboys can be ! IT WILL STILL BE ONE HELL OF A GAME, stop whining everybody (sorry I couldn’t post this reply jus as a comment, everytime I want to leave a comment it says “sign in” and when I click sign it, I’m back on my profile page since I’m already logged in

  31. andrez004

No excuses. They should have hired more people. And for everyone that says you should just be happy… You guys are idiots. MORE IS ALMOST ALWAYS BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO GAMES!

    1. GT5SER

You know, 27 tracks to start with is good. No, great! The thing is that, that opens the door for DLC tracks, cars and upgrades. So, live with it or don’t buy the game.

  32. B

I’m gutted. The biggest ommisions for me are Costa di Amalfi, Citta di Aria, Pikes Peak, Apricot Hill, Midfield, Seattle, Grindlewald, Motegi, Infineon, El Capitan and Grand Valley.
Then there’s the tracks I thought would be new to the series, like Hockenheim, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Rockingham, Road America, Road Atlanta, Yas Marina and the Turkish GP course, to name but a few.
Also, for saying there are now several D1GP cars included, I’m surprised Ebisu with it’s countless variations isn’t in the game.

In all, I’m very disappointed with both this and the car list for saying it’s 6 years+ worth of work. Let’s hope Kaz is keeping not only an ace, but a royal flush or two up his sleeves!

  33. Sigmaviper11

This track list doesn’t feel complete. i wonder if they are leaving stuff out as a surprise. Or maybe they’re still working on some sturff and are going to drop it in later. Or maybe it was just too much to fit on a disk and they’re forced to drop it in later. I hope there’s more to come.

    1. ralph89

I believe so, too. I think they did the same back in GT4, because I’m prety sure I took a glimps on their website back then and can’t find the entire track list, but after a couple of months the entire lst was there.

    2. Benny44

I agree. Like I mentioned before, the arena is not there and the kart track isn’t either. So they obviously don’t have everything listed. Also, remember earlier that they said the disk is full or just about full? It stands to reason that this stuff would have to be DLC, like the other tracks. Who knows, maybe it’ll even be free. ; )

    3. Sigmaviper11

@Ralph89-Yea, If they did it before its not to unexpected then. It still allows for that “surprise” when you get the actual game.
@Benny44-In addition, yes, i was thinking the same thing. The leaked versions may not get this because launch was yet to be scheduled, But o or after launch day, I’m betting there will be an immediate update to add any extra cars or tracks that weren’t able to fit onto the disc itself. And knowing how Kaz kept adding and adding, part of the delay, with getting a release date out, may have been trying to prep that extra stuff.

  34. lambo sv

its like they have taken two steps foward but one step back there is an improvent on the games as a whole but not what everyone was looking for i will still buy the game

  35. r1racer

he did mention there would be 100 tracks, i only count seventy something, perhaps there will be more if not this is disappointing

  36. TheBigMan045

you do understand that PDs main objective is to make money like any business, and those licencing fees for tracks and cars (especially those with f1 ties) would be HUGE! so in a genius plan theyve given you a bit….and the rest will come in DLC, They cant rely on online fees to make their money

  37. seanyb505

Odd, I counted 35 tops. Removing a chicane makes it a different track? I dont think so. My blue shirt was still my blue shirt after the button popped off. Guess what? It’s still my blue shirt if I wear it inside out. Reverse doesnt make a new track. Im going to go out and say there are only 7 original tracks, not 20. Hadn’t we seen Taxes Motor Speedway? Not that I need it, I actually think NASCAR is an unwelcome addition. Does this mean other tracks arent listed as well? Not that I need a particular obscure track in my city or state, but it just looks small. Takes a long time to make a track? Hire more people! Dissappointed.

  38. Detroitbb

I can only hope for DLC that adds the glaring track omissions: El Capitan, Seattle, Infineon (sports car course), Twin Ring Motegi, Tahiti Maze, Apricot Hill, Grand Canyon, Midfield, Motorland, Swiss Alps, and Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo. I know I left others out, but the ones mentioned are the tracks I’ll miss most. Just as a point of reference, GT PSP (the last GT title) has roughly 35 locations and 75+ variations.

    1. JamDodger

Just reading through the list again…. Could the title of this news be slightly wrong?

Could it be the Complete Official Arcade List.???

I only say because before the video got censored the other day, this is the exact list of the ARCADE tracks, and as much as it will be fun to play these, i’m definitely going to miss Grindlewald, El Capitan, Seattle, Apricot Hill, Midfield amongst many others.

I couldn’t see PD not putting these in, I know they have to be PS3 readied but they have been made before… Just a curious thing that’s all.

I’m sure others have seen this.

  39. Reaperman

Lack of El Capitan hurts my soul. That was my ‘home track’ for the last half decade. I swear I saw a quick clip from it in a recent-ish promo vid too.

  40. Tom

I really cant see what took them 5 years, theyve actually dropped several tracks from the past. very very strange if this is all the tracks we will get, and very disappointing.

    1. Stu

Perhaps it has something to do with the vastly improved quality and other features that increase the lifespan and depth of the game hugely?

  41. mik_69

I’ve gotta laugh, finally get the revised release date and a full car & track list and the majority of comments are still negative!!!

For me 27 different tracks (forget the variations) is a fantastic variance for one game. The F1 season only has 19 different tracks!

  42. Red_9

The Test Track isn’t on the list, and that track has been in the GT games since the very first. Which leads me to believe not every track has been included on this list.

And by Test Track I mean the incredibly long oval track for top speed testing, not Top Gear.

  43. HN7

The game took too long to come out and now it won’t leave up to anyone’s expectation. It will be a great game, just not a perfect 10.

  44. ralph89

IMO, this list doesn’t make any sense? We’ve seen a lot of tracks on some trailer that is not on this list. Like that mountain pass in FT 86 and El capitan with Enzo. Plus add some unknown tracks that’s been seen in some early trailers.

    1. Paulo

I’m sure a lot of those unknowns, and even that FT-86 track you’re referring to, were created with the track generator.

  45. chump

seems lacking so hopefully there’s a ton of cars and tracks available as DLC. (I’d be a big sucker for this).

Also, it’s good to be reminded that we have a track generator on top of this :)

  46. Geo_212

You know, I like the original tracks and everything… but I’d much prefer all real-life tracks. Let’s raise a glass in hopes for DLC!

  47. leemoldon

I had faith in Kaz and polyphony digital and i feel seriously let down….where is this massive and fantastic game with a 1000 cars with interior views and loads of tracks??

    6 years??

    hey?

    explain yourselves??

  48. Big Poppa

London are Eiger are two joke tracks – they dumped Hockenheim and Midfield Raceway for these two clangers? WTF! Insane!

    1. helix_9

They should delete the first half of the intro movie. That would free up a few gig. In fact they should delete the whole thing along with the My chemical Romance song too. Then have it as an optional DLC.

  49. Big Poppa

This is like seeing your girlfriend kiss another guy then someone give you a big kick in the niuts. What a load of sh1t! Kaz Yamauchi has maligned and taken the p1ss out of us for too long. An absolute disgrace.

  50. GMW

I believe there are still a number of unannounced tracks!

Regardless Top Gear is there and that is a BIG Plus!! I just hope they do DLC.

  51. Michael

What is really disappointing about the car and track lists is that is basically just confirms everything that we already knew. There aren’t any surprises with this, like ‘oh sweet! Silverstone is in it!’ or ‘Oh nice.. 40 Ferraris!’

Seriously, has there been any big surprises with this? Wtf has PD been doing for 6 years?

    1. stickyfiddle

IIRC they don’t race if it’s wet- they wait and dry the track. So wet racing NASCARs would be wrong.

      But would’ve been fun…

  52. Ps3fanboy

any of you might think they kept some to them selfs? – as a surprice when you get the game? who knows might be the same with the cars.

I like the list – could’ve been more tracks , but still some good quality tracks!

    1. Rod

Dude, why would they do that??
I mean, it’s really conforting to delay the disappointment and expect that they didn’t tell all that’s in the game.
But they have no reason whatsoever to do so. They wanna sell the game, thus, if there’s anything good/worth mentioning they will do so beforhand.
And that’s the same reason why they say there are 1000s of cars in the game, while we know that there are so many repeats…

  53. neema_t

Stop complaining or it’ll get delayed again. I hope there’s going to be some DLC…

I guess this is why they put the course creator in.

  54. CaliBoy1990

Too bad about the Test Course…………….I’ll really miss that one{still kinda disappointed that PD just HAD to include the Top Gear Track}.

Hopefully it can be recreated in the Course Editor, though. =)

  55. Lucas180

dissopointment to not see midfield and seatle..or red rock or..well alot of old tracks i was hoping for ..man..between this and the car list…bah..

    1. Stomach ache

Yep shocking, not sure what they did for all those years, but looks like GT4 with 1 years garnish slapped on top of it.

  56. New User

    @Lethal Chemist

Forza 3 has 22 tracks with over 100 variations.
GT5 already has 28 tracks, with possibly more missing from the list (Piazza Del Campo?).

    You do the math.

  57. Hypergolem

The List is nice, but I miss Citta’ D’Aria, Costa D’Amalfi, Opera Paris was cool too, don’t care if there is no Infineon and El captain was boring apart for the scenery

  58. LordVonPS3

    @Famine.

Now you’ll agree it is pretty much as I “predicted” ref *that* debate.

All those GT4 tracks Akira put together made for a good wish list though. There are between 20 – 30 “locations” listed and many of these locations boast 3, 4, 5+ variations.

What’s interesting however are the tracks that aren’t mentioned, such as Piazza Del Campo for example.

So now everyone should know; expect surprises… ;-)

  59. Rod

I’m missing Seattle, Seoul and NYC. What the hell happend??
PARIS!?? How come there’s no Paris?
    And Midfield? Apricot Hill?? Tahiti??

GTPlanet should make a list of the tracks missing, and we’d see how much we lost. I’d gladly give up Monza and the crappy ovals for those…

    1. helix_9

The only oval track I wanted to see is the one attached to Monza and they didn’t put it in. I thought it would be in for sure.

    2. Rod

Well said Helix…The only oval I cared about was Monza’s. Why not put it in? I don’t get it…
The inside circuit of Daytona is crap too, by the way, why include that?

  60. gnorman

Disappointed so many tracks have been left out.

Sod Silverstone its a boring flat airfield like the TG test track, was looking forward to a proper picturesque track like Brands Hatch or Spa. Haven’t played on that since Revs on the BBC in the mid 80s.

    1. MVR

I think this is not the complete track list, because you can clearly see “El Capitan” in the intro movie. So I`m confused now.

  61. mcentee28

Cant beleave this. When i frist saw the list i was dissapointed not to see the most famous race course in the world(spa)Now after reading the comments i realise that they left out half of the best tracks,(Opera Paris
citta di aria, costa di amalfi, Seattle, el capitan, infineon raceway)

  62. ANFD

The track list is definitely weak. It’s the number of tracks that keep a game alive and give it longevity, not an enormous car list. There better be DLC for more tracks. For those of us who like to make transition videos showing the evolution of the series, there is only one track that has been in every version of the game (with the exception of Prologue) and that’s Trial Mountain.

    1. Obli

Grand Valley Speedway, Deep Forest Raceway and Special Stage Route 5 have been in GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 and will be in GT5.

  63. Greg

How come no Suzuka West or Twin Motegi East/West/Oval Road Atlanta or Road America or Silverstone National GP or Sebring ? that one track in Austraillia

    1. F.G

Why would they include day/night for a race that only has 20 laps?

On some tracks, you never ever have a 24 hr race so it’d be completely pointless including day/night for these tracks.

    2. Autavia

      No real legendary tracks?
If I recall correctly Brooklands is the only purpose built autodrome older than Monza, and Monza is still operational, save the grand old oval of course.
And speaking of legendary tracks: Nürburgring Nordschleife, Daytona Speedway, LeMans and Monaco must surely fall into that category, like them or not. Lets not forget the Fuji (although ruined for F1) and Suzuka wich are one of very few tracks I would call real that still host Formula 1.
Spa is a loss. I would have loved to see Bathurst. I would have paid extra for Targa Florio. But there’s still plenty of legendary tarmac in GT5, yeah?

    3. Obli

@F.G – Because it depends on the time of day you play the track. 20 laps on the Ring late evening Nurburg time and yo’ll see the sun setting, I guess!

  64. Brian

Well this is missing a bunch of tracks. I am happy GT5 is out in 12 days but was hoping for a bunch of the classic tracks to say the least. Oh well.

    1. Shokz

Now I’ve seen the list? Yes, if it’s a choice between “get it now and get no new tracks as DLC” or “wait and we’ll add more tracks to the disk”.

    2. JayKayEm

They are not ‘my’ tracks, they are everyones tracks. Tracks that have previously been mapped in other GT titles.

    1. t.o.

“Where is NY?”? Hell, where is America? Did we get bombed and annexed overnight and somebody forgot to tell me. Is that why every track I had planned on using for a future series is gone? Between this and the “Buy Foreign” campaign otherwise known as the car list I don’t know.

  65. Kyle

hmmm. Disappointing content for track selection. And no premium NB Miata. (personal) Here’s to DLC! *crosses fingers*

If anything comes from DLC, it will be to make this game more complete. Like, filling in the gaps between GT4 and GT5, and adding more premium cars.

  66. Daniel

i thought theyd at least put all other original curcuits from gt1 gt2, 3 and 4, Racing_Demon712 ( i will be getting this the day it comes out im a big FAN :)

  67. Benny44

Maybe I was the only one, but I was really hoping for Red Rock Valley and Apricot Hill. Also I’m pretty sure that a 1/4 drag strip wouldn’t be included in a track list because it doesn’t show the arena either and we know that is in there. I’ve always wanted a drag strip, would be awesome to have those 1 on 1 battles.

    1. Fahrergott

You can do straight strips in course maker at any length over at least 4 different locations. That should be ok.

  68. Gt3luke

I will spend a lot of money when i get DLC. I’m a little bit disappointed if í’m honest. Hope we’re gonna be suprised by KAZ.

  69. Codename6

No citta di aria, costa di amalfi, Seattle, el capitan, infineon raceway, new york, opera paris, seoul, twin ring motegi, mid-field, apricot hill? :(

  70. CeeJay

ahhh kind of a disappointment there.. I was really hoping for some British tracks like Dongington Park, Silverstone, Brands Hatch. Oh well.

    1. Obli

Of the British tracks, Brands Hatch (GP version) would be my favourite and the Oulton Park. Silverstone… meh, don’t mind :)

  71. memo05

So, help me if I got a wrong idea or impression by this list…
1)The weather and night racing will be active only on some of the tracks not all of them ?
2)The weather and night racing will not be active on tacks we make by the course maker?

fingers crossed that I’m wrong on these thoughts…

  72. Pingwhen

i do feel let down on the track list. i know people whine about nascar, but we need at least 1 OTHER TRACK if not a short track like Bristol, and a fast one like Atlanta. im very disappointed they got the license and didn’t do anything with it. it just seems weird there is only one track. and what happened to Watkins? or infinion? like i said. very disappointed in this.

    1. Ner0_sol03

even though i dont like nascar you are right . Alot of things seem missing. They shouldve gave us 750 cars and alot more tracks. and just gave us the rest as free dlc

  73. cohetedor

Um, am I blind or is there a confirmed track missing? Where is that Karting track in Sienna? Instead of removing just the flags did they drop it entirely?

  74. Abc

So disappointing…no silverstone, motegi, hockeneim, spa, estoril, seattle, new york…I would pay gold to have those for DLC

    1. Stune

Im going to miss Midfield and Apricot hill the most I think. Those tracks were so significant in GT3, so mnay good memories

    2. Daniel

i loved seattle :( but ya no ull probly b able unlock em through career or sumat like tht apricot was fun and loved midfield

    3. Tuga703

It is unbelievable that they have dropped tracks that have been in the game since (atleast) GT2 :'( This makes me sad just thinking about it.

  75. Wuestenmaus

These are just the old courses from GT4, just a few new ones. The car list is also disappointing just 11 Ferraris. It is obvious, that the damage will be limited and that you have all weather effects just on a few courses. What did they do the last 6 years? Inventing funny sounding race events?
I swear by god, if they do not come up with a solution for the crap multiplayer races we saw in GT5P, this will be the biggest disappointment imaginable.
The hype and fanboy talk is over, we want to see results!

    1. Wuestenmaus

I think GT5 will be a total DLC-hell. We will have to pay hundreds of dollars in total to get more cars and tracks:( What they announced so far cannot be everything they want to release in GT5.

    2. eggs

Hold your horses, lets wait until we have the game in our hands before making such outlandish comments.

But I have to admit, similar thoughts have crossed my mind, and I doubt we are alone.

    3. NO E30 WHAT DA FOOK?

      Wuestenmaus
      +1

      They have over 130 Nissans, yet no F50, E30 M3 nor CLS63!

They have got rid of more tracks than they have added! What a sham!

    1. Mattycakes

      @TheMainVR4
not even the same country bro. Madrid is Spain obviously, and The Piazza Del Campo is in northern Italy

  76. BoostedM3

No 1/4 Drag Strip or 1000m? i hope they will be in DLC,
    Nordsleife + M3 thats all i need
Btw Jordan we need a Countdown on the front page ;)

    1. Point432

+1 i agree…this is sad. so many years in development and this is all they’ve got??? :-( I guess we’ll have to be creative and make our own courses. I have some good ones in mind…test tracks mainly.

and the car list is just old stuff too. if no dlc, this game could be a little bit of a waste. not completely, but partially.

  77. Sam

I’m new to GT series and GT5P was my first introduction. Paid $40 for it and it was worth every penny. I’m sure the $60 I will spend on GT5 is going to be equally worth and looking so much to Nov. 24th

Some of these track looks like as good as being there physically.

    Sam

    1. Bernd

You’re right, no Hockenheim would be disappointing. What happened to Seattle and Seoul?? My beloved El Capitan is gone :-(

    2. AGNT009

Yeah, Im going to miss the air I could get off of El Capitan

Wait a second, no Test Track? There goes my hopes of using it as a No Restrictor Plate Coca Cola Superspeedway for the Stock Cars :(

    3. AGNT009

On second thought, there is track creator…..maybe I can convince that mode to give me an unrestricted Superspeedway paperclip layout…..

    1. eggs

Monza in my opinion is much better track then motegi.

However i really, really hope they put GT6 on hold and get stuck into some DLC. I really wanna see some more tracks than this.

    1. paytonlow

I wouldn’t hold up my hope, and I think Kaz doesn’t like DLCs. Well, it would be good if most dev behave like Kaz, but for GT series I will pay for DLCs :)

    2. Steve

This is the only game in the world I would pay extra for DLC, unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be seeing much DLC for this game. They’ll probably just making GT6 and add the extra tracks into that one :(

    1. Marky264

What happened to Grindwald? All that hype about that track too… I’m slightly confused by todays news and rather excited but more confused lol

    2. AGNT009

Lets have a moment of silence for Spa………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….So, should Special Stage Route and anything PD dreamed up belong in the original category? I dont care if its in a city, if its made up, it shouldnt get its own category of City. Just call it what it is, PD original. Subcategory City.

    3. Z-U

Surely – this can all be downloadable content – once we’re all hooked – they will have us in the palm of their hands. If they said “Laser Scanned Spa-Francochamps Circuit £6.99” how many of us would jump through that hoop. I think the boxed product is just the start of what I’ll end up spending on GT5….and if that is the case, it better be backwards compatiable with PS4. :)

    4. HugoStiglitz_420

why is there a belgian high fens course creator setting but no Spa track? where the hell is el capitan? we saw video of it

    1. dojOdRiFTeR

there is no way thats all they tracks sure we have weather but seriously we have less tracks than gt4 wth is going on an another thing how is the f40 considered standard thus that mean all cars have cockpits

    2. Sam

So, this is what they mean by 70 tracks, 20 locations. Sometimes it is good to not know what you’re missing (I never played GT 1-4). I’ll be OK with this.

    3. G T Allegerita

Such a HUGE dissappointment! I almost have to puke. Is this what we get when we’re promissed something perfect? perfect? We waited 6 years, bought tv’s, surround systems, ps3’s, etc. and this is what they come up with??? A GT4 makeover? I’m freaking stunned! It’s not full hd, it has only like 5 new tracks, and from the 1000 cars only 100 or so are interesting. I’m f’ing bored allready!! This is not gran turismo worthy. They should name it The Top gear simulator for annoyment system 3.

    4. moxlox

So it appears that the extended part of Eiger Nordwand we have seen on the map in the videos is a dirt track? What do people think? It only says short course under the normal road part of the listing.
