GT5 Asia Online Tournament Begins Today

Following last year’s successful Asia Online tournament, SCEA have today launched a second event.

Unlike last year’s entirely online tournament, managed through Friend requests, this year’s event is much more closely modelled on GT Academy and starts today with a time trial qualifier. This takes the form of a Seasonal Event (called “Asia Online Tournament 2012”) consisting of a hotlap of Fuji Speedway F using a Nissan Calsonic Impul GT-R (Super GT) ’08 on Racing Hard tyres.

Following the first round of time trial qualifications, the players with the top six times in each of the six eligible countries – Malaysia, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong – will be invited to regional finals. Each winner is then invited to the Super GT event at Sepang, Malaysia, for the grand final with the overall winner given a trophy and tickets, flights and hotel accommodation for the 2012 Tokyo Game Show. All participants receive an in-game car – the Nissan Calsonic Impul GT-R (Super GT) ’08 – for beating the gold time in the qualifier event.

Overall prize: Two-way air tickets and hotel accommodation to attend Tokyo Game Show 2012 in September 2012 and a Trophy for the Asian Championship.
Regional Matches – 1st Place: Two-way air tickets and hotel accommodation to Malaysia to attend the Asia Final in Sepang Circuit Malaysia at Super GT Sepang Grand Prix and SGD160 PSN Money Voucher
Regional Matches – 2nd Place: SGD320 (~$250) PSN Money Voucher
Regional Matches – 3rd Place: SGD160 (~$125) PSN Money Voucher
All participants: In-game car Nissan Calsonic Impul GT-R (Super GT) ’08 (if Gold trophy achieved)

The qualification round starts today and lasts until April 22nd, with the results announced and the regional finals during May. The Asia final is on June 10th, the day of the 3rd round of Super GT at Sepang.

Full details on the qualifier, regional finals and final, including all rules are available here. Thanks to Hafiz for the original tip.

I love GT5, the only reason I purchased my PS3 Dec. 2010. but come on KAZ / PD. not even a slight indication as to what or when to expect some new content. My colleagues are up in my face about Forza4 DLC every month.
Kaz don’t leave us in the DARK, some news please. Take Care.

  2. texans20

however i like VW’s so the online dealership change is a good excuse. i’m a fool for cars.

and sorry for the double-post,Quakebass…it won’t lemme reply :_(

  4. Jean christophe

kaz let us down…):( we don’t want a stupid event uniquely for 6 countries,we want THE GAME UPDATED with new cars/feature/track!!

i’m getting the feeling kaz is like a politician now…does the stuff HE wants sitting his @$$ in his chair laughing at all the improvement requests and giving us crap generic events…no i’m not a Forza fan at ALL. i’m a GT5 maniac and i’m sick of being lied at by PD!!

    Comment from an upset player.

    1. Quakebass

It’s funny; PD hasn’t been lying at all, they just haven’t SAID anything about the DLC and update…

    2. PIGBOY

hey boullion, its the sony people who organize these events isnt it,maybe a regional manager…….surely others have vision too

    1. Flaco13

the players with the top six times in each of the six eligible countries – Malaysia, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong

  5. gen2000

i from Singapore, but why i cant see this seasonal event “Asia Online Tournament 2012”?
    Anyone can help ? Urgent!

  6. mattmflok

the gold time is 3’12″000…the Calsonic car can do it in 1’4x”xxx with me at the wheel…is that supposed to mean a car giveaway

    1. Reality_SG

I just completed the seasonal event. Gold timing is indeed 3+ mins, but you just need to do ONE lap. Yes, ONE lap. However, most folks did it within 2 mins.

  7. PIGBOY

u must need an asian disc to play.Poor Australia,we are in asia/pacific,we use EU disc, will never be included there, never had a competition.Maybe its company persons with vision, get your sponsers, very tough time though.:(

  8. tpark103

Somebody once told me that racing isn’t about, I still wish you all a shot at 1st place. Good Luck :-).

    1. tpark103

Let me clean that up… Some once told me that racing isn’t about winning. To those that are in it to win best of luck and to those that are in it for that other thing ?????? What ever it is best of luck? :-)

    1. TomBrady

that is lame. I’ve never understood why they exclude certain countries. Estonia was excluded from EU GTA, Canada & mexico from the North American GTA, now phillipines & Laos, probably Vietnam too right? excluded from the Asian GTA? That sucks. I bet it’s sonys fault, and I don’t think it’s fair. What’s next? they’re going to do a worldwide GT academy, and exclude more than half of the countries in the world? Gimme a break sony

  9. magsolid

I’m a Laos people. And i completely dominated all Thai racer in GT!
Please include Laos region as well!

  10. chanchan126

hi, i cannot see the tournament, i have region 2 disc. is this region for asia? i can’t seem to find the list of countries for this region. :(

  11. danger23

I hope there working something big like more rim selection or more body kits or cars, they should make it possible to change the size and width of the tire for drag racing or whatever.I would love to see more things in gt6 like getting more hands on with the engine meaning pd should go deep into modification of the motor i’m talking about going into aftermarket parts for just the motor or the exaust or brake, clutch, real world modification from inside and out, how about real world mechanical problems & damage, let say you slide into a wall at 25mhp now u know there’s going to be sum kind of damge to your car,”could be fixable or not”,could a tire rod or sumthing major or the body damage could affect your areodynamics but you won’t know til you pit.As your riding the lap with ur car mess up not knowing what’s wrong you might be able to race again or you might haft to retire from the that day or your motor could lose power for some reason or cut off. what im saying is that i want what i see on T.V. probably won’t see that until gt10 or 20

    1. danger23

Another thing is that they should pay attention to detail when it comes to car collisions and the sound of them, take a look at some youtube video’s on racing crashes or watch a entire race then you might get better idea of what i would want gran turismo to evolve into.if this is a real simulator thay need to have caution flags a real point system maybe a pace car or maybe if you were riding a couple caution laps you can watch the clean up crew ether put a mangled car on a flatebed that’ll be cool or just cleaning up debris from another car that could cause damage to a fellow racer, hell he might blow a tire from it,they have the elaspe time on the game why don’t they put that to use they can use that for car repair they should have differrent degrees of damage, blue would be minor 1 or 2 days repair, yellow would be 4 to 6 days for repair, red would mean major or “totaled”, so that means that you haft to buy another one of the same car “if totoled” and try create what you had before or take it as a lost.eliminate the amount of cars in the garage to maybe five or ten, with that in mind you haft to concentrate on so many cars to tune if you have a thousand them, that’s crazy i have 20,000,000 and only 8 cars, what i don’t want i sell or give away i have one car for each circuit that’s all i need, and if i don’t like the car bye bye ,it would make the players appriciate what he or she built and make the driving skills better and most of all it would teach patients and you wouldn’t be in lobbies with dumb asses trying to run you off the road because they could cause significant damage to yours and his, who knows the person who ran you off could’ve cause more damage to his car than yours pd has alot platforms they can build on just with what they have in gt5 hopefully my dreams come true in gt6

    2. danger23

PROJECTOUTLAW keep your comment to yourself and i will ignore what you say i know nothing about a wish list this the only place i know to leave a message.did ya know that b4 you start typing. please go jump infront of a train at a 100% capacity :).thank you soooooo much.

    3. Projectoutlaw

Whoa, calm down Mr. Hostility. I was only trying to help make your information more useful by putting it in the correct place. In not way was I making fun of you. Why don’t you read the rules of the site about where to put things or even try the search function. Also proper grammer and punctuation is a useful tool to help get your points accross as well.

  12. GTPmrpotsworth

Sick of this bu!!$h!t now when is the DLC coming ?? i have the money in the bank to go out and buy a xbox with forza 4 come on GT5 get ya finger from out your a$$

    1. Dekropttiv

Thats exactly what I did. I got myself an xbox with Forza 4. The driving in GT5 is still a lot better, but man, is forza a lot funner. Honestly, if this next DLC pack is bull, I won’t be playing GT till GT6 comes out. They’ve had one too many chances.

    2. SKOT_FREE

Sounds like You want shift2 but after playing that for the last week I’ve reached the conclusion that the game sucks. I’ve never missed Playing gt5 more!

    3. That_guy100

@GTPmrpotsworth u mad bro. Go ahead and get Forza. We really don’t care. We’ll be enjoying GT5. :)

    4. TokoTurismo

Sure I complained as well, but WHOA GTPmrpotsworth your comment is BEYOND mines. Are you getting Forza 4 just because it brings out DLC each month? I don’t understand. I’m getting scared that the guy who complained about DLCs are ruining our games from the GT5 Q/A thread was maybe stating this as well. DLC is getting into our heads too much, even mines. :(

    5. Quakebass

      @SKOT_FREE:

I agree, Shift 2 really does suck. I’ve played Forza maybe 3 – 5 times, and I like it more than Shift 2. I’m still staying a loyal GT player, but I’m trying to get an Xbox and Forza 4. Games can’t last forever, but simulators like GT and Forza last longer than most. Forza has a few things I can’t do in GT5; livery editor, much better car selection (in my opinion), and better crash physics/damage. I take breaks from GT sometimes, and it feels so much nicer coming back to it. I’m need ing another break…

    6. danger23

i don’t think i would go that far for “that game” xbox is the BIGGEST rip off in video game history you haft to buy the system buy then in order to play online lol you haft pay ,paypaypay 4 every thing even the dlc hope it didn’t set you back good luc with that

    7. TomBrady

      @Quakebass
If you really want a break from GT5, Forza is not the answer. You said you don’t like Shift 2, and that’s very similar if not better than forza 4.

The most comparable game out there as far as physics, car selection, and track selection, is rFactor. I run it on my terrible laptop with only integrated graphics, so I’m sure you can run it to. You can get it for $12. Best part is the mods are all free, and you find almost every real track as a mod in rfactor. Not to mention HUNDREDs, thousands of cars. Including cars that are not in any other games.

The physics are extremely similar, and it’s set up as a simulator. People still play it online. Graphics aren’t great, but so what, it makes up for that with physics and sound.

Xbox, and forza are not the answer if you want to take a break from GT5, games like rfactor, iracing, and especially netkar Pro, are the best alternative and a natural step away from GT5. Forza is a step backwards as far as realism, and always leave you feeling like you’re wasting time.

If you REALLY can’t PC game (which I doubt), try Ferrari The Race experience, superstars v8, or supercar challenge (Absolute Supercars in USA) off PSN. All are under $10. Or get F1 2010/11, those have MUCH better physics than forza and the presentation is amazing.

    8. Quakebass

      @danger23:

Xbox Live has many more features than you don’t get on PSN, so thats a decent reason for it having a subscription fee; audio messages, cross-game chat rooms, more games with online split screen play, (meaning you can sign in as a guest or play on multiple accounts) and you easily can recover your account on another system. Even so, I think its over priced; $20-$30 (USD) would make more sense to me. Why WOULDN’T you have to pay for Forza’s DLC? You have to pay for GT5’s… And PS3 was a bit pricey; a hefty $400 and $600 (USD) was it’s initial release price, and the Xbox has had it’s pretty much always had its price lower than PS3 since release, with an initial release price of $300 and $400 (USD)… so you aren’t exactly paying more for an Xbox. It depends on which one you get, now, I’ll be getting an Xbox off of Ebay, hopefully for around $150 (USD), which is nowhere NEAR what you can get from a store. You’re post doesn’t really contain much factual information, but it is true that it’ll cost you a bit to switch from GT5 to Forza…

    9. HKSBro92

There is nothing wrong with Forza 4. Stop bashing the game so much. Its an excellent racer. If you want to take a break from GT then Forza is a great game to get. It didn’t get high scores for no reason. Ok so the physics arent as real as GT but who cares? If I want realism I’ll just hop in a car. There’s a reason why I got a driver’s license. Quakebass, don’t let anyone stop you from buying that 360 and Forza…you’ll love it.

    10. Quakebass

      @Tom Brady:

Do RFactor and these other PC sims work on a Mac? If they don’t, I’m not getting a PC just to get some games; its unnecessarily expensive. I wouldn’t just be getting an Xbox for Forza; there’s a few other Xbox exclusives that I’m a fan of (like Halo and a strange german arcade racing game called Crash Time), plus, all of my good friends are on Xbox.

I already know that Forza doesn’t have NEARLY the same realism as GT, but that’s not the point. I have enjoyed playing it, and I’d use it in much different ways than GT5. The livery editor, for one; I already know that there’s PLENTY of games with them, but Forza is really the only game I know that has physics I enjoy AND a livery editor, so I can DRIVE my creations pleasurably.

I HAVE compared the physics with Forza, and Shift has WAY too many issues; you tip WAY too easily on sand and grass, the stickiness between cars and wall (due to aerodynamics) is WAY too high, and every car goes into a mini tail kick to a decent powerslide in every corner (and has some sort of oversteer and rarely EVER understeer), no matter what you do (as far as I’ve tuned).

If I am to get more gaming equipment, it will most likely be Dirt: Showdown and or Borderlands 2 (I’m not 100% centered on simulators, but BY FAR they’re my favorite), and then an Xbox. The main reason is because of 100% of my good friends all have Xboxes; there’s no one I really know well that still uses or HAS a PS3 now. And, as stated, theres a few Xbox exclusives I want to get. I won’t be going for a high-end Xbox, most likely an old, used Pro off Ebay; they’re going for $100 – $150 easy, now.

Forza isn’t really enjoyable in terms of realism for me; it’s just a fun game with fun physics, much different from GT5. GT5 will remain my favorite, but I’ve been playing pretty much ONLY that for about 6 months straight; I still have InFamous 2 that I need to beat with Evil Karma, Uncharted 3 on “crushing” difficulty, all of the cards and unlockable parts, vehicles, and challenges on MotorStorm: Apocalypse, (and, in fact, beat the original Motorstorm), and complete Dirt 3. I’ve been too obsessed with GT5 lately, but they get too boring too quickly; I want a game that could possibly last as long as GT5 or at least close to it; I’d like another simulator. for most Forza isn’t the best option, but for me it is.

    11. GTPmrpotsworth

      @Dekropttiv @SKOT_FREE @That_guy100 @TokoTurismo @Quakebass @danger23 @TomBrady @HKSBro92 Dont worry guys am still sticking with GT5 for now :))

    12. TokoTurismo

^ But you did smart thinking though. Getting a Xbox and Forza 4, it should hold your fundom level up to max. I too have a Xbox 360 and Forza 4, super fun, and still like GT5 but will love GT6 more. My comment wasn’t directed to you though, so no worries. :)

    1. MuoNiuLa

Forza makes people feel like they’re wasting time? Speak for yourself pal.

I got a Xbox 360 purely for Forza and haven’t touched GT5 since. It is a great alternative.

  13. Valasca

Do u get to tune the Nissan Calsonic Impul GT-R in this event? Or is it fixed, no tuning suspension, or any upgrading?
Whats the highest PP can u get?

  14. chucksstuntman

    heres my opinions:

GT5 was wonderful but got kinda stale after i beat a-spec. im only 13 cars from 1000, and after that i have no more need to play this game. absolutely loved a-spec and b-spec modes. and really love the ferraris. btw this game needs the new F12 berlinetta:)
give better seasonals like they used to and i’ll keep playing to get those 20 million dollar cars.

secondly i got the need for speed shift 2 unleashed for free (playstation plus). it looks amazing, sounds even better, and plays up to par of gt5. it has great damaga gt5 should have had. im not a need for speed fan but this game so far is more fun than gt5. and to top it off it has the zonda (Huayra) and every car has interior view, including the bugatti. it also has a few cars i never heard of that are awesome… the koenigsegg CCX, Radical SR3 RS. so if youre bored of gt5, get this game for now… at least till polyphony makes it better or something.

    1. Quakebass

Shift isn’t NEARLY as good as Forza… The physics are better, theres more cars (pretty much everything you’ve got in NFS is in Forza 4 plus a few hundred more) all with interior views and the highest polygon count in a video game, and you don’t have the guilt of playing a game that was made by a company that stole Porsche from so many franchises. I get so many rage quits on Shift 2, (partially because I used to be a die-hard NFS fan until it started dying after UnderGround 2 or Most Wanted) mainly because of how glitchy it is. I don’t know if my game’s just slightly damaged, or everyone gets the issues I get.

    2. Swagger897

      Quake…

when you mean physics, you mean that they favor your way of ” I’m not a good driver so ill just find a game that has no comparison to real life (not saying that Gran Tourismo 5 is the closest you can get) so I always win every time ( also not saying that the Gran Tourismo 5 A.I. are like robots chasing the leader which is the most overpowered versus all the other cars not including you) ” I Pitty The Fool That Does Stuff Like That..

Gran Tourismo 5 definately has the most disc-based cars… where in the world did you get your “fact” from, idk, but if you mean DLC cars, i give you that. Polygons as well, BUT, did you every think to compare how long it took GT to creat the game, to Forza to make theirs?? Ya, then you’ll wonder why so they dont have as many, ALSO, you have to include the +1,110 cars in the game.

Porsche, they really didnt steal them.. all they did was make a contract saying that NFS is the only franchise to allow cars.. We (Gran Tourismo 5 players) have RUF to make up for that; but i do think that PD will create some premium RUF’s for us all in a DLC. ( I for one want the R-18 Ultra and the R-18 e-Tron Quattro that was just released!!!!)

NFSU2 was a great game in my opinion, for the game cube, that is a different story on graphics but i still play it time to time with my 300mph hyundia Celcia.

In my mind, and someone elses, this is Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue 2. GT6, WILL TRIPPLE THE POLY.. count with the next forza game.

And BTW, you do realize that GT was first and Forza is basically a copy of it fo xbox kids.. they will always be one behind which nobody likes to be… plus, Sony has the highest recognition for technological updates compared to the modern world. Sure it may be a bit pricy, but the Holy truth is, “” Quality Means Quantity”” (quantity=dough=money=U.S.Dollars//Euro/Peso/Rubbie…)

Swagger897 PSN if anybody agree’s with me.I just can’t wait till this tournament comes out because i was three days late from entering GT academy because of a pre-order issue that took about 4 months to resolve..!!!

    3. TomBrady

dude there’s only like 25 cars in forza 4 that have a higher polygon count ( the autovistas). You didn’t really think that the autovistas were the same as the rest did you? HAHA The normal forza 4 cars only have 300,000 polygons, and when you consider that those have interiors which accounts for a lot, forza 4s cars are still only 100,000 polygons more than even the standard cars in GT5 (200K). Plus, polygons don’t mean everything, rendering techniques are also important, and frankly GT5s always has been and always will be better. Not to mention, GT5 is native to 1080p, forza 4 is barely even 720p.

If you wanna brag about forza, graphics or physics are not the way to do it LOL, those are that games 2 weakest points. Customization, that’s about the online forza has over GT5, and sound and matchmaking. Other than those things, shift 2 and forza 4 aren’t even close to the quality of GT5. Shift 2 has floaty driving physics, ridiculously over exaggerated collision physics, and forza has undersimplified and way too unrealistic driving physics. At least shift 2 is somewhat realistic, forza is half way to Grid or TOCA lol

    4. Quakebass

Its funny; NEVER did I mention GT5 in my post… I was comparing Forza to NFS: Shift 2… But really, there are some things that Forza has advantages on; a more desirable car list, (*in my opinion* less duplicates and common road/family cars, more variety and super cars) a livery editor, better crash/damage physics (in my opinion), and more online game modes involving top gear; most of these can be done in GT5 or GT6, but hasn’t yet, so some people have been turning to Forza just for a break. I’ll probably take a small break from GT5 once I can afford an Xbox and Forza 4, but I’ll remain a loyal GT fan. Next time, please read carefully, and lets hope we get continued support for GT5, and a bright future for all simulator franchises. (Except for Shift, it sucks, and stole our Porsches!)

    5. TomBrady

      @muonila

Are you kidding? The amount of whining on here is disturbing. Some fanboyism should be expected, LOOK AT THE TITLE OF THE SITE!!!! LOL. But the whining is getting retarded. I want the DLC as bad as anyone, but insulting the game? Making ridiculously pathetic and nit picky statements about it, just because you’re upset that there’s no DLC? That’s just childish.

Impatience has got the better of people once again. It’s happened before, but it has no bearing on GT5 as a game. GT5 is spectacular, and has improved more since released than pretty much any game/sim I’ve ever heard of. When hindsight is 20/20, people will realize how badly they’re all overreacting. I was guilty of it when I heard about standard cars, and the veyron being one of them, I flipped, but after playing this brilliant sim, it’s no longer the only thing I can think about.

People just need to grow up, and be patient, because most games are still missing so much compared to GT. NO SIM IS PERFECT

    6. MuoNiuLa

@Tom: It’s disturbing because Quake mentioned nothing about GT in his comment. He was comparing only Shift and Forza, but that somehow makes it okay to bash both games and make GT seems so superior? I do disagree that Forza has the most realistic looking cars. GT5’s premiums are better but really…

And what exactly is missing so much from other games that GT5 has? I see nothing genere defining about GT5 other than physics, which I can understand. But other than that and 200 nice looking cars, GT5 is behind in a lot aways and is inferior in some ways compared to older GT games.

Not even going to touch on the rest. I haven’t been whining about new DLC and I couldn’t care less when it comes out.

    7. Quakebass

Thank you, MuoNiuLa, but I didn’t say that Forza’s cars looked better, I merely stated that they have a higher polygon count… In my opinion, all of the cars in Forza 4 are far to shiny and reflective, ESPECIALLY in AutoVista – (speaking of which, why doesn’t Jeremy Clarkson sound like Jeremy Clarkson? my friend claims that the voice is his, but it sounds NOTHING like him… just a boring British guy…) I’ve NEVER seen a bright, shiny, black interior carpet. Either way, The standard cars just simply look worse than any car on Forza 4. I hope PD updates more cars to premium; DEFINITELY the Bugatti Veyron. Sorry I was a little confusing in that polygon statement…

    1. Maddens Raiders

lol GT5 dead? Seriously? I don’t think so good sir. Some of you folks and the dramatics are just too freakin’ funny.. xD

    2. Quakebass

Yeah, I know… GTPlanet used to be full of happy users… I joined just about a year ago, and everyone was happy, correcting minor spelling and grammar issues, clearing things up, and settling arguments peacefully. Now, its nearly gone to YouTube status; trolls, over-dramatic comments, people posting without any background knowledge… this started to occur with DLC 2’s release, but when DLC 3 was leaked, everyone became positive again, just like before. People weren’t even this antsy when PSN was down… Has DLC spoiled us?

    1. tawfiq

You mean Region 3 yea ?
And Damn, I was about to make a Hong Kong account. Thank God I didn’t waste my time !
      :D

  15. Froudeybrand

Such a meh moment when people outside the event area like me in Australia that don’t get such events like this I am starting to play gt5 less and less

  16. Foxiol

That´s great! You know what it means going to the TGS ´12 as a prize…*moment of suspense here*…Gran Turismo 6 formal announce! and TBA 2013 as a date!!

(some people is going to kill me because of this comment lol)

    Foxiol TM all rights reserved.

(wow, i love that photo, nice job)

  17. Toyota2jz

Wow, PD have been very quiet this past month. I wonder what’s taking them so long…. Better be worth it, as we all are waiting patiently.

    1. Quakebass

The word “Patiently” and the statement “waiting for DLC” haven’t been getting along very well in the last few weeks…

  18. Supermelon

If I have a North American version of GT5 and have recently moved to Hong Kong, can I open a HK PSN account and participate in this event?

    1. Flaco13

if you open up a HK account on your PS3 I think you can, if the discription says for HK-Citizens you might be able to participate

    2. Flaco13

I don´t even get what I just wrote, lol, sorry

Again: to create an HK account I won´t have to explain you how you do it, the rest depends on what the regularitys of the events say. If it says only HK citizens are to participate but your american you can not participate. If it says for HK Residents, and that you are apparently, then yes we can…. I mean yes you can

  19. Normalaatsra

Wow this is unlike the first one. Top 10 all get PSN vouchers, but now only the Top 3 get the heavy ones.

    1. EliteDreamer

Never. This is Asia’s replacement for the GT Academy as far as I know. I also think this is their second tournament.

    1. MadmuppGT

What track is that and I would assume thats some heavy photoshopping going on, but yes its a stunning photo!

    2. SimonK

What I meant by false advertising is that it doesn’t specifically say it’s photoshopped so someone could come to the site and see that picture thinking GT5 looks like that out of the box. It doesn’t.

    3. mcfizzle

False advertising by who? PD isn’t using it to market the game and GTPlanet isn’t advertising anything.

    1. mcfizzle

Simon didn’t you know? GTPlanet is intended for a US audience only, lol. Anyone who registers for the site outside the US is immediately banned, a few thousand have snuck by the screening though.

@mcfizzle This is a worldwide site note the logo of GTPlanet which is the world therefore representing a worldwide audience. There are users outside of the US like myself and others. And, for that matter, how come Yamauchi-San has noticed this site on many occasions?

Oh, and the photo is amazing!

@TheTester I’m pretty sure mcfizzle was sarcastic. with the “lol” and the “immediately banned”

Actually I would be willing to put money on the fact that most people registered and active to this forum are from outside of the US. Frankly, America is a crap country as far as GT goes, by sales figures I mean. Compared to how other games sell in the US, America is not a very GT friendly country.

Is it weird that this news stirs absolutely no emotion within me??? not even a raised eyebrow……is there any hope left?

I agree with B W X , GT5 is dying, guess i’ll go back to computer simulation racing. I’ve been hovering around 19-20 Mil for months because there is nothing left to buy.

There cant be many 60GB ps3s left now, every news feed, forum, thread and reply involves someones 60GB PS3 just YLODing! :P

    2. HeXoSKEL3t0n

Yeah I know right… Gonna get a new slim soon, even though I lost some replays and minor changes, as I only backed up the month before the thing broke down :( Oh well still better than restarting from scratch :)

Tch. Don’t really like that it is Oriental Asian exclusive but there’s nothing we can do. At least we all get a free car for getting gold on the event.

    1. HPUnleashed

The only good thing I can see from that would be that it means they’re working on GT6. Maybe even for the PS4!

Still, I don’t understand why the Bugatti Veyron never received the premium treatment it deserved. :(

      @HPUnleashed

I think it’s because PD didn’t have time to finish the game. That’s why we didn’t see that car.
