This race will probably be the easiest one, because there's no limits on power, and the field is entirely composed of Kei cars that have no more than 70hp. So if you chose a car with over 100hp, it should be a breeze. Of course, if you chose something a little less powerful...say, a Toyota Vitz or an Alto Works, then you might have your work cut out for you. It won't be an easy race, then. Drive cleanly, and you should be able to pull this one out. However, if you chose the Midget or the 500R, then you'll be racing this track for a while.

Nissan 240SX Fastback X '96
These cars a have a bit more power, so think about boosting your car to about 150-200hp before attempting this one. It's got a very long straight, so the power's necessary, but if you're running a little behind, then you can catch up a little on the curvy stuff. The final 180-degree left turn is crucial if you need a boost down the straights, because the AI is quite weak there.

Honda S2000
Just like HSR, this one has long straights. So you may need about 200hp. But the AI makes a mess of the turns, so you may make up quite a gap on them due to their lousy driving. Expect at least one spinout from those computer cars, especially near the first left-right ess bend after the big banked curve.

Mini Cooper 1.3i
MGF 1.8i VVC
Another easy race, mostly under-powered cars enter this one...Except for the Lotus Elise. That one somehow crept in there to make things difficult for you. It's never the easiest car to pass because it's light, nimble (at least in the AI's hands), and thus, fairly quick. Watch the 90-degree right after the first two right-hand kinks in the road. The AI will tend to hit the wall, and kamikaze right into you while you're braking. Arange youself so you're out of their way; try to be much faster than they are, or wait for them to carrom off the wall on the left after taking the turn, giving yourself enough room on the right (away from the desired line following the exit of the corner).

Venturi 300 Biturbo
Jaguar XJ Sport 3.2
These cars have even more power, but that doesn't mean they can get around tricky 'ol Grindelwald better than you can! The TVR Chimaera likes to make things difficult, so it should be hounding your every move. The key to this circuit to get all the apexes clipped nicely, and to set yourself up for the turn following it. Remember to give priority to the faster cornber, so sacrifice speed into the first part of the ess-bend in order to give yourself a boost down the straights (if you can call them that).

Now we get to the nitty-gritty of Gran Turismo. This one requires a license, so get that taken care of before entering this race. And the competition is tougher, so hopefully you've earned some credits by now to modifiy your car for this event. The Rome Circuit doesn't have the annoying "kamikaze" turn of Rome Short, but the cars will stay together in tighter formation.

Honda Civic 3dr '98
Mitsubishi Cyborg ZR '97
Peugeot 306 S16
VW Golf GTi 1.8T
VW New Beetle
Another easy event. This time, it's all FF cars, so having about 150hp or so can't hurt you. The underpowered Clio 16v will even give you a run for the money, so watch out! However, the weaknesses of the AI under braking for the fast downhill right-left flick will aid you If you're still stuck on the B license, the 5,000 credits plus the 7,000 for the Accord won in this race will help you out. No other B-license race will pay out better than this one, so buy a good FF car if you're planning on racing all the B-license races before continuing on to the A-license races.

Honda Civic Type R '98
An easy one. Get enough power down the straights, and you're in business. The most powerful cars to worry about are the Integra or the Civic Type R. If you're lucky, several of the cars will run wide after the first turn. Usually, you don't need that sort of luck because you're way ahead of them by now, right?

The cars here run in tighter formation that the others, so one wrong move, and you're out of luck. FF cars tend to understeer though TM's tightest stuff, so get your car's suspension tuned right for this track. This one's up for grabs, they are all tough to beat. Look for weaknesses under braking for the back straight, and watch out for cars trying to spin you out for the tight right after the first tunnel. If you have 250hp or so, this one's a breeze.

Mazda Miata '89 Nissan
Silvia K's 1800cc '88
Nissan 240SX Q's Aero '97
Toyota Trueno '83
This is the only non-randomized race in which you'll attack the Clubman Stage 5 circuit; half of it is like SSR5, but the front straight is chopped off and a good bit of the track is circumvented by a pair of blind left-handers. The first one's involves a little braking and downshifty, the second one's got a huge exit, but it's hard to judge it just right. It's slower than the one before it. An entry-level FR race. Just a friendly reminder that the Sileighty is ineligible for the Silvia180SX Club races, so make what you will of that.

Honda S2000

BMW 328Ci
Mercedes CLK320 Sport
This one's got more power than the last one. Remember that long straight on SSR5, so set up your car's gearing (and it's power output) accordingly. Just another friendly reminder that the Nismo 270R is also ineligible for the Silvia180SX Club races, so go buy one from Nissan, don't wait for a prize car to help you for that event.

Jaguar XJR Vehicle
Aston Martin DB7 Coupe
More powerful FR cars, but they don't handle that first turn so nicely! Get some grip, about 250hp, and you won't have any problems with this race. This time, you can use the prize car in the event it was intended for, so save it for the RX-7 Meeting. It should be a lock for the win in that event if you drive it carefully.

Lotus Europa
Toyota MR-S '99

Toyota MR2 Supercharged '86
MGF VVi
This one's easy enough, just watch your enrty speed into the ess bends on the back half of the circuit. The AI's good there, but terrible into the braking point for the hairpin on lap two. Look out for the Lotus twins; Europa and Elise to hassle you through this short race. A nicely-tuned AZ-1 could compete here, and so could some more expensive machinery like the NSX. The power gap's fairly wide here.

Tom's T020
Lotus Elise 190
Acura NSX Type S Zero
Renault Clio Sport
Toyota MR2 GT-S '98
Tommy Kaira ZZ-S Coupe
Again, the Elise will be strong here. Surprisingly so, despite the long straight. Watch you braking into the tighter stuff, and stay steady with these mid-engined cars and you'll see the checkered flag. Again, there's a good power gap here, so if the Elise is too much for you, hand it something more powerful.

Ford GT40 Race Car '69
Ford GT40 (Road Car)
Lotus Motorsport Elise
Vector W8 Twin Turbo
Vector M12
Lotus Esprit V8 SE
Venturi Atlantique 400GT
Acura NSX Type S Zero
This is an enigmatic race, likely to be dominated by the Ford GT40. Hands down, it's the car to beat should it show up to race. But don't bet against it. Curiously, the Vector M12 and W8 don't belong here, because they are both over the 591hp-limit. Your strategy: Get something faster and more powerful than the GT40, and handles nicely. You may find yourself in second place by the time you've reached the first ess-bend, because all but the GT40 handle comparatively lousy at Red Rock Valley's first turn.

Subaru Legacy Sedan RS '96
Audi S3
A surprizingly difficult race; if you can deal with all the blind Mickey Mouse corners, then you can do fine here. Otherwise, the competition is ruthless at the track. My advice to you is to bring all the power you can, drive carefully, and watch your mirrors. Note that an R34 can squeeze by the regulations (how conveinent).

Mitsubishi Evolution VI GSR '99
Toyota Celica GT-Four '95
Audi S4 Legacy B4 RSK '98
Now that you've passed the tougher of the twio cricuits, this one should be a breeze. The cars aren't much more powerful, so expect more of the same. Save the Nismo 400R (PM) for the GT-R races, but consider the fact you can't race mod it. However, there will be plenty of racing GT-R's to play around with later on.

Subaru WRX Sti Ver VI '99
Subaru Impreza 22B '98
Mitsubishi Evolution V GSR '98
Mitsubishi Evolution VI GSR '99
Don't be put off by the power rating on this one; you don't need 690hp for this event. In fact, about 400hp is all a newbie needs here, and you could get by with 300, if you're good. The cars don't have much more power than the preceding 4WD race. (By the way, if you're looking to buy the Subaru 22B, consider it the rarest used car of all; it only appears on 6 different 10-day cycles.) If you haven't practiced racing at Laguna Seca by now, get a feel for it, especially the dreaded "Corkscrew!"
