The Nurburgring Nordschleife is one if the worlds longest and toughest race tracks ever and has, over the years played host to competitions such as saloon car races, 24 hour endurance races and even Formula 1 at one point in time. Unfortunately for many racing fans the Nordschleife does not meet FIA saftey standards, the costs to keep updating such a large track are astronomical, especially when you consider some more average lenth tracks are struggling to keep up. The unfortunate result of this is that FIA sanctioned races are no longer held there, however, there are still races.
