Doing kart and fell asleep on the last lap halfway trough the last long right hander – won. Woken by the sounds of a collision from behind as 2nd and 3rd rear ended me.

Now just have to do Autumn Ring and SS5.

  2. chassy

The PD sasonal events responsible for these events might be stupid for sure! Civics with normal tires in kart track?!? C’mon! This is difficult of fun?!?! I just not goning to lose my time on this #$&%!

  3. GTMikeyKuhn412

Why are these new seasonal events so difficult anymore? I can’t do much of anything. I DID win the past two races (Supercar Festival and French Championship as of who’s prize car I am in love with).

  4. infamousphil

Sorry PD, I’m not complaining but I don’t use FWD cars much but I do have a 90s group of FFs that I would have loved to use there. I don’t share your enthusiasm for Honda famed hatchbackAllowing us to use the

    1. infamousphil

Fat fingers!!!! I don’t share your enthusiasm for Honda’s famed hatchback series but I would have enjoyed piloting 415pp Mitsu’s FTO or Eclipse, Peugot’s 206s and many of the other FF’s you have blessed us with. Your narrow mindedness has again left the rest of us putting off fresh new GT enjoyment. If any of you reading this agree please look me up at HighPerformanceStreet.

    2. Both Barrels

The thing is, we just had an FF joint not too long ago. It was a good one for sorting the rubbish FFs from the good ones, especially the Cape Ring Outside, where a win could be secured with a car a full hundred points below the allowed PP. I earned over 1.7m cr with the right starting grid. BTW, love the Peugots too, and don’t forget the Protege and the Sunfire GPX.

  5. Flagmo-T

I’m so very very Sorry all – But GT5 can’t make me Happy anymore ‘ Piv Snift crying a little bit – But thankfully I’ve got other race Games like Project Cars – Shift 2 – To raise the Happiness level :o)

    1. Quakebass

^ I’d say that’s my biggest problem, among hundreds of others. I’ve actually counted how long it takes for a button press to make an action – about .5 – .7 SECONDS. Seriously?

  6. ncrthree

Yeah, not that imaginative but a challenge. Used a fully stock 01 EP CM tires all aids off w/no abs. Not my favorite drivetrain for sure. Hopefully they’ll get more interesting combos going soon but this is a good addition for Civic fans. Maybe this will lead to more one make combos.

  7. emanuelmelo

Ok, given the last few seasonals, I think this one isn’t quite so bad. But, how about a proper challange? A few month’s ago, we had a rather challenging one, in B-spec, at La Sarthe of 10 laps with weather and time progress. How about something like that in A-spec? Like, 20 laps with serious rain and night driving in a proper track? The prize could be something like an exclusive livery car, or better yet, a new car coming to the game. Even a championship with a few races, like we had in previous GT’s, would be refreshing at this point.

    1. Progress823

^^^ I have been looking for a seasonal like that for almost two years…..nothing of the sort. WTF PD….f**k civics on Tsukuba.

  8. FosterG

Gave up a while ago, I’m real busy now blazing down the roads of Colorado in an FXX Kaz, call me when you get something new :-)

  9. CorvetteConquer

Kazunori Yamauchi- “I think the online team has a very difficult job, because within the resources GT5 has they have to come up with something different every time.”

PD satff: “Quick, it’s the night before the new seasonal and we’ve been spending most of our time trying to fix the sound on the HSV for last 18 days. Hmm…What might the GT5 players like? Wel, we’re Japanese, so let’s make sure it’s a JDM car. How about a Prius? No. A Lancer? Maybe. No! A Civic! Something new and exciting! We did it! Kaz, master, do you approve? Kaz? You awake? Oh, ok, you’re busy racing and promoting Nissan!”

Seasonal that use weather? Seasonals that uses day to night transition? Seasonal that uses pit stops? Seasonal that uses tire strategy? Seasonals that use imagination?

    Nope…

  11. Venari

Got over 800,000 Credits from Trial Mountain with a 377PP Civic EG which was fun. I reckon it’s doable at less too. The other battles were a bit tougher, however.

    1. GTMikeyKuhn412

That’s the easy one. Just cut the final turn, and you should have easy money! (Place illegal tongue in cheek smiley here.)

  12. Brunskill777

When I saw 415pp Civic I thought these would be crap. How wrong I was! THESE WERE BRILLIANT! They’re fun, taxing and required lots of fast driving. Managed 4 out of 5 fine, with some exciting overtaking on the last lap. But then there was SS5. It took AGES, I just had to keep improving every try and after loads of tries I did it! What a BRILLIANT series of races these were, just BRILLIANT. Keep this standard up and there’ll be LOADS less people on here complaining, including me. BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT I can’t say it enough!

    1. Both Barrels

Well said. I haven’t driven with my hands upside down so much in a while ( Autumn Ring ). Thoroughly enjoyed it as well. On the Clubman SS5 I railroaded the 2nd place driver into the pit wall on the last turn and looked in my rear-view just in time to see his bumper separate as his rear end lifted off the ground followed by the next car plowing into him. I LOL’d all the way across the finish

  13. Lambob

PD, just make these seasonals also available as offline dowloadable content, you can offload your servers this way, and have more resources available for more immersion for real online activity.

    1. hobanator24

Well I can understand why they censor certain words. They want GT5 to be a game for all ages. What they should do is have a graphic content enabler/disabler. So if you want to view vulgar words online or put alcaholic/drug references on your car, you can choose. Such as the Coors Light sticker on the NASCARs and the Marlboro sticker on the Mitsubishi Evo Rally Car and Peugeot 205 Rally Car. This could also be why PD hasn’t added a livery editor in GT5. PD doesn’t trust people putting bad language on their cars

    2. sporkafife

Rofl, the replies to this comment are completely off-topic.

I think that it is an amazing idea to offer seasonal events as free DLC from the PSN. It means that people can continue to play them when they are offline, and the download would be so absolutely tiny (probably a few KB) that the downlad would be basically instant anyway.

    3. Amac500

Well they wouldn’t need to worry about text really, they could just give us a bunch of sponors decals and like a million base layouts to spray. Honestly they just haven’t dome it yet because its alot of work to code.

  14. playnthru

I guess it’s so hard to come up with something new, that they just give up and recycle last years seasonal (Wiskey Tango Foxtrot, whiskey tango foxtrot)..

Must be a Glitch in the Matrix??

  15. roflcoptor

Insert GT5 game disc. Do 5 races. Win ticket. Save game. Eject disc. Insert another game. Repeat every 2 weeks.

    1. HKSBro92

Insert GT5 game disc. Do 2 races. Gets bored. Does donuts in 1,000 horsepower Viper ACR for 10 minutes. Ejects disc. Insert another game

  16. TomBrady

We need a Caterham 7 seasonal event. Somebody please bombard, nay harass Kaz’s twitter demanding it.

If they’re gonna do one model races, they should use oddball stuff like caterham 7, r390 road car, NSX-R Concept LM Road Car, chrysler prowler,Tommy Kaira ZZII, bugatti veyron, spyker C8, ruf yellow bird, GSX-R/4, any of the SEMA award winner cars, etc.

I don’t know why they shy away from those cars, probably because they’re standard but the Cat 7, prowler, and GSX-R/4 have cockpits that are good enough, why not use them

    1. HKS racer

They don’t use these cars because in their opinion doing the same lame events again and again it’s FUN -.-

That’s the problem with Kaz and PD. They have a completely different taste than us.

  17. MuoNiuLa

Oh look! An event we had already! Thanks Kaz and the PD online team for their hard work and continued efforts to bring us NEW and ORIGINAL events every week!

    Difficult job my ***.

  18. HKSBro92

Once again, I just doing this for the money

P.S. His rear wheels are locked. Was somebody trying to drift with a Civic? lol nice pic though

  19. spikeyhairdude

Vtec kicked in yo. Lol i had to.

Will do the races when i get home. Really like the last civic events so hopefully this one would be equally better

  20. snaketus

Comfort tires? Why can’t we use sports tires on our tuned machines where are going to the track? Doesn’t make any sense.

    1. TomBrady

Because comfort softs are more realistic on those cars. Compare real life lateral G stats to GT5, sports hard have way too much grip for nearly all road cars.

If you can’t handle driving on comfort tires in a low power FF car then you need to practice more, cuz slapping on racing tires or sports soft on a road car is not doing you any good.

  21. Pit Crew

I cant believe Kaz said this and Jordan didn’t laugh in his face:

I think the online team has a very difficult job, because within the resources GT5 has they have to come up with something different every time.”

Kaz dude, you guys aren’t even trying. Just continuing to feed us bias uneventful seasonals. In my opinion your holding back alot of GT5 resources, though I dont understand why.

Still waiting on that Europe only event or at the least, a German Supercar Seasonal.

    1. another_jakhole

This is something great that I agree with. It’s the only part of the interview where I couldn’t get where he was coming from.

    2. TomBrady

YOU KNOW WHAT THEY NEED FOR A SEASONAL?

      A CATERHAM 7 ONLY EVENT

Half the races with tuning prohibited, half with full tuning allowed. Try telling me that wouldn’t be cool, you can’t

    3. Tenacious D

Seconding most of you guys. Caterham 7. More Super GT. DTM. ALMS. Rally. Bring back the Ferrari Challenge! ;D

    4. Pit Crew

Anything would be better then what we get now. My point is Kaz is telling a straight up lie when he implies GT5 in game content is not diverse enough to create a Challenging fresh ASpec Idea. Whether it be German supercars catherams GSX-R etc.

Im not here to over emphasize what I would find interesting, im disputing Kazs claim of difficulty finding ideas within GT5 resources.

    5. TheEzekiel

whole interview was hilarious Kaz was talking about “something new” ..about “too real sounds” I mean…is he really serious?? He’s always talking about human drama but when we don’t have even a racing drama how could we possibly have a human drama here…for example..there is absolutely no need to play A-Spec carrer..no extra bonuses, exp you can earn by seasonal events, online racing (and surely more money)..I completed A-Spec and B-Spec Carrer..100% and didnt get any fkin gift or a special 100% carrer game ticket…I dont believe PD and Kaz anymore and Im surely not gonna buy another GT ever

  22. CorvetteConquer

Jordan- “Can you describe how the various themes, cars, and tracks are chosen for GT5‘s Seasonal Events?”

Kazunori Yamauchi- “Every time, our Online Operations team at Polyphony Digital has a discussion of what they would like to do next, then they come to me with their ideas. I take their ideas and then we decide what to do from there.

I think the online team has a very difficult job, because within the resources GT5 has they have to come up with something different every time.”

lol, not so different OR new.

    1. HKS racer

LOL at Kaz and PD Online Operation team. You guys have just no inventiveness.

Need some new ideas for seasonals?
Subaru vs Mitsubishi , Tuned Supercars 620pp , GT 300 , DTM , Race cars from the 90’s , Caterham Cup , Muscle Cars on gravel tracks , WRC on snow tracks , Italian Supercar Trophy (Lambo Ferrari Pagani etc) , British Supercar Trophy (Aston , TVR , McLaren , Lotus etc) , X2010 at SR7 , and so on and on.

  23. HarVee

The Spoon Civic in the OCD isn’t allowed to enter this event. So don’t even waste your game credits if you think you can use that car to enter.

    1. Thetruth28

probably because we are stuck with comfort soft tires. It’s fun to be fast on them for a while, but eventually you want to step it up to at least sport Hards. I think Sports Hards should be the minimum tire allowed in all seasonals. Save the comfort softs for time trials.

  24. =drifting24/7=

If the Spoon Civic EK9 is allowed in this Seasonal, then f*** yeah. :D If not, oh well, I can always use an FD2 Civic. :)
