Overview

Gran Turismo was the first game in the GT series, released on the original Sony PlayStation console in Japan on December 23, 1997, produced by Polyphony Digital, Inc. and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

It was later released in Europe on May 8, 1998, and in North America on May 12, 1998. The game featured over 140 cars and 21 circuits, and has sold over 10.85 million copies worldwide as of December 2010.
