Library / Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec

Overview

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec was the first game in the GT series to be released on Sony’s PlayStation 2 console. It was briefly known as Gran Turismo 2000 when it was first shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2000.

It was eventually released to the public in Japan on April 28, 2001, and in North America and Europe on July 10 and July 20 of 2001. Despite running on more powerful hardware, the game actually featured less content than Gran Turismo 2, with only 180 cars and 20 tracks.

Despite its smaller scale, it went on to sell over 14.8 million copies and, as of December 2010, remains the highest-selling title in the Gran Turismo franchise and ranks as one of the best-selling console video games of all time.
