Two American GT Academy champions are teaming up this week to compete at the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge’s opening race at Daytona. 2011 champion Bryan Heitkotter and 2013 champion Nick McMillen will be driving the #41 Nissan 370Z for the Doran Racing team.

We led often, but for one reason or another winning remained elusive. It will be great to team up with fellow Nissan GT Academy graduate Nick McMillen after his time in Europe and see what we can accomplish together.”

“I’m very thankful to have the opportunity to join Doran Racing and fellow U.S. GT Academy winner Bryan Heitkotter as my teammate in the car at Daytona,” McMillen said. “The season opener for the Continental Tire series will actually be my first race in the United States, which makes racing at Daytona even more exciting. I welcome the challenge of working with a new team and a new [to me] car. I haven’t raced since September but I’m sure I will get up to speed quickly and feel at home with the Doran crew in no time.”

The pair qualified in 9th place for the 2.5-hour race, which will be held at 1:45PM Eastern Time on Friday. Live coverage will be available at imsa.com. Good luck, guys!
