More Vision GT Cars Coming as Lexus LF-LC is Teased

Hot on the heels of Alpine‘s Vision GT comes another concept car for the Gran Turismo series, this time from Japanese brand Lexus.

There’s no information on the car at this time aside from two teaser images released today, but we can make a couple of fair assumptions for now.

i1IafCDV8wgA9GParent company Toyota already has a Vision GT car in the game, and there’s some similarity in the two cars, particularly around the tail lights. That car, the FT-1 VGT (derived from the earlier FT-1 concept) is a front-engine, rear wheel drive car and though the LF-LC seems to have a relatively stubby nose in these teaser shots it may just be a foreshortening effect.

Those who keep up with the auto shows may well remember the name “LF-LC” from a car shown in 2012 that looks surprisingly like the Toyota FT-1. That car was recently mooted for production by Lexus, reportedly carrying a mixed-fuel powertrain that combines a petrol V8 and electric motors for 500hp, just as with the FT-1. The bonnet ducting and latches hint at a racing or high performance variation.

Assumptions aside, we’ll have to wait on drawing any conclusions from these teaser images and bring you more news as it comes!

This will likely be my favorite VGT thus far. Big LFA fan, and this car looks set to please, stunning and slick. Those crying about fantasy cars should also be pleased with this, as this car seems realistic and street ready, and may very likely resemble the next showings from Lexus. Certainly looking forward to this.

So this is the Lexus version of the FT-1 eh? Does if have the RC-F’s V8? Cause if it does then I’ll take two. :P

Incredible, give folks something for nothing and they still find a way to complain. Did I just read that someone said that VGT’s have random physics, considering that GT is a simulator how do you think automakers come up with car chassis specs, they sure as hell don’t go building hundreds of chassis to test each one. No they simulate, ugh. Some times I wonder why I keep coming back here if the ranks are starting to swell with complainers with not much going on between the ears at all.

Free car, you don’t have to drive it. When they release DLC you can buy those and get cars you didn’t want but may have to grin and bear it.

I like that Kaz is getting this stuff in GT, GT since it first appeared had cars like these in it. There are cars in GT never seen elsewhere, so I feel as if complaining about free additions to the roster no matter if they are conceptual or not aren’t at all warranted. I have Forza 5 and I want to punch someone in the face so bad, why should I have to buy back cars that were on disc in Forza 4? Perhaps you’ll be stoked if PD started selling you cars they cut from GT5 in GT6 yea? I’ll take my free cars simply because that number could have easily been zero.

Is it me of does it seem like when we have a time trial with a new car the physics feel brutal, I play the game and normally it doesn’t feel as rough. When PD gives you one and it has pretty much everything off, it feels like the cranked the simulation up a notch. I honestly hope that GT on PS4 has two full on separate physics modes, for the arcade driver who likes to go fast and the one for the individual who intends on learning how to remain in control of a car and all that comes with it. I hate SRF, not sure why PD created it but it needs to never ever be near GT again. Save that for MotorToon 2 Kaz.

Um, everything that SavageEvil said, basically. I have no opinion on the Forza bit, but I can certainly understand how buying back cars that were included in previous versions would suck.

Now that is what I call irony. In one post you tell us the VGT physics are not made up because simulation, then question the physics on new cars each time a TT is released without making the connection that all the recent new cars are VGT’s…lol. The physics engine is fixed and works the same in every car. All that changes is the data inputed into the particular car model and the parameters of the particular TT. So if you are having a problem with new cars in TT’s with the physics feeling “brutal”…that’s irony my friend.

Well I can already tell what I’ll think of the styling. Not a fan of the stupid grill and headlights on the new Lexus. My personal taste of course, but I think it looks gross. It’s like one of those fish that lays on the ocean floor and gulps stuff when it swims past.

C’mon fellas let’s be real. The VGT’s are a great, unique addition to the franchise. Kaz has melded the real world and gaming in a way no one has done before. in this genre anyway. Let’s not get caught up in trashing this ground breaking work because we want more real cars. It’s two separate issues. If we were getting a steady stream of real cars + VGT’s I think we’d all be ecstatic right? We have to give credit where credit is due but let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

More VGTs, just great…..They all look practically identical to one another. No soul, as someone mentioned. Rather than wasting time on concepts that will most likely never see the light of day, why not give GT fans some real life cars?

I do agree what you said about VGT cars.. they are soulless concepts with random physics/handling that nobody can prove is it even close to what it should feel irl. Haven´t driven last 3 VGTs & probably wont drive that Lexus & Alpine… :/

But about those “crap cars who nobody drive” : They are pretty fun in my opinion, some of them are quite lazy on stock settings, but if you increase PP to lets say 400pp on comfort tyres.. you really have to work & focus on driving to keep them on track, much more fun than driving Elise ´11, Madza Mx-5 & other new cars that handle like on autopilot.
Those old “crap cars” are the real cars :D

I don’t think we’re going to see too many new real cars in this game..some of the recent ones feel like a new skin to another version of the model. I’d like to give PD the benefit of the doubt and think that it’s because they are scanning all new cars in “higher” detail for the next Gen console and it’s too difficult (expensive) to make the “higher” premium scan into a normal premium scan for this version. but it would be nice for them to communicate it…

That Lexus looks hot (reminds me of an Aston Martin)

  9. sind3ntosca

Almost like LF-LC, but the 3 LEDs shape is different… LF-LC’s are round. Maybe LV-LC… V for VGT hahahah :p

Those Vision GT Concept cars are quite boring and often hard to drive. More normal cars with recent production dates please! Examples: Opel/Vauxhaull Astra, Ruf etc. Looks like more work for PD.
