Come on! Is somebody win this sarthes sick race??? Few car need brakes and few driver need eyes… And only two laps, this is very dangerous ra.. oh.. Derby! We want to race, not crash anything :D

Man the AI were totally diferent for me this time the brands hatch race was a joke took first mid secod lap in 04 NSX and never saw another car. The nurb race was a little better looking from the look of the starting grid but I used a stock 458 and was extremly diissapointed end of 2nd lap the speed 12 in second looked like he never hit the brakes down the long straight and never had a shot making the 1st of the last 3 turns and ended up boucing off the wall airborn just about on top of my hood as I was starting my turn in. (how he ended up finishing 4 is beyond me I guess since there is no damage though anybody can come back and win after crashing that hard) but I got through the 2nd last turn with good speed and passed the Huayra mid turn and down the straight pass the finsh line. I didnt have a single problem with an car ramming me I dont tbink I made contact the whole race but what I thought was bs was start of my 4th lap i was slowing for the 1st turn and just dropped to 1st and my rear view was showing the Huayra comming way too fast and thought he was going to ram me and screw my race over but he missed and jut like the speed 12 never hit the brakes and down the dirt into and bouncing off fhe wal he went. So my lead up to 13 sec over a viper mid lap but somehow 5th lap same thing Huayra caught up I drop to 1st Huayra down into dirt into the wall again my lead upto 12 sec over viper and again when I crossed the finish the Huayra was 2nd 1.8 seconds behnd me. I find that to be just crap AI period I had no ramming or dirty racng but no car should be able to crash that bad lose 14sec make it all up lose 12sec next lap and make jt up again and worse yet have a shot at winning. If I would have went off track or flubbed just 1 turn on the last lap I would have lost. Im sory PD but in a 5 lap shootout race like that thats just unacceptable in my book. Didnt do the sarthe race yet this Nurb race just got to me.

whats an ideal car for the the la sarthe event? im using the peugeot 908 HDi FAP with a little ballast so i can get more power but i have only managed 4th (albeit even that run a had a penalty after i got rammed). not to sure where im going wrong haha

  4. Brunskill777

Well they were quite good. Le Mans was funny for the one penalty I got. In the Indianapolis section, there were 3 AI cars ahead blocking the track but still going reasonable pace. I hit the back one, got a collision penalty but just coasted so lost little speed and was still going faster than them. But because I went ghost, I went THROUGH one of them then continued as a solid entity to overtake the other two. See, sometimes penalties help!

MY OPINION ONLY… flame off please.

FOR ONLINE: GT6 is awesome. I haven’t found anything better.

FOR GAMING: I like GRID AUTOSPORT better and think GT6 could learn something there.

PROJECT CARS could be a game changer (no pun intended) if it combines the best of online and offline. The opportunity is there.

    1. Tenacious D

My opinion: I don’t think anyone can learn a thing from GRID except how to make bots more violent than in Forza.

  6. WheelmanSteve

On the one hand, I really like the variety of events popping up. However, I really believe these need to be longer- I’ll get much more enjoyment out of a 20-lapper where I can actually RACE for the win than these little drag races. 5 laps at Brands Indy? Sorry- not listening. If I want to play an NFS-style game, I can play NFS.

    1. Johnnypenso

@WheelmanSteve…the simple addition of a “Race Length” slider would be quite welcome for many players. Rewards should be directly scaled to race length as well. 5 Laps are Brands Indy is an arcade race, I agree.

    1. Brunskill777

They were called A spec in GT3, even though B spec wasn’t on that game as it came in on GT4. And it is A spec because you do it yourself, so yes, it is called A spec.

  7. warpkez

Is anyone at PD even testing this *game*?

Twice now on LeMan, I am coming around Mulsanne, and there is a car waiting for me in the middle of the track – not moving.

Hard on brake to avoid collision which sees me go from 5seconds odd behind the race leader, to 15+.

I have some really good replays from the GP/F of watching the AI fly into Yokohama forgetting to apply the brakes. Would be nice to know how to convert these for Youtube.

    1. dddsprayshop

I don’t mean this the wrong way, but isn’t it kind of extra realism?
In real races sometimes a car breakes down, or hits another car and stays in the middle of the track.
Also in real races some drivers get off the track because they brake to late and/or go to fast when entering a corner.

it is wierd now because we were used to the AI from GT5, always driving the perfect line, always go to the side when you’re closing into to them.

I like it, and sometimes hate it when AI pushes me off the track, but that also happens in real races.
      Think about it.

    2. warpkez

No. The AI is just being plain stupid. Watching the replays the car just stops in the middle of the track, no valid reason for it at all.

It rounds Mulsanne and just stops.

  8. Brunskill777

Sounds ok, but no doubt there will be some form of real annoyance in them such as the stupid penalty system or the ‘catch the AI in two laps from a massive gap behind but then can’t lose them in three laps after’.

  9. toospiciecc

Amen!!!!! I’m sick of rolling starts offline with normal car racing and I’m sick of waiting for the next update because I can’t play GT6 at the moment due to bug on brands hatch.

    1. warpkez

Why have the rolling start begin all the way at Indy(hyperboles)? 5 minutes from pressing start to when you can begin racing. Not like there is any pretty scenery to look at.

  10. GTHEAD87

I’m not one for moaning about these things, but I am getting sick of chase the rabbit. not played GT6 in weeks because all I want to is grid starts offline.

  11. watchclockgit

The Le Mans event is insultingly bad. I’m getting pretty fed up with being falsely accused of ‘ramming’ by a game that has on show the worlds most perfectly crafted artificial stupidity program.

The chase the rabbit is simply serving to illustrate the lengths PD are having to go to give their moronic bots a fighting chance of winning. If course they could also put the laps down so far that you have to….. Oh wait, they did that too.

    1. XPOWER180

Yeah this event seemed particularly bad, far too many penalties for the slightest little thing. They call this ‘expert level’. Well I’ve watched the real LM24 many times and I think it’s fair to say that all the drivers there are experts yet when they make slight contact or a wheel goes off line, their cars aren’t automaticly slowed down!! Total nonsense. I was heading towards the tight right hand corner at the end of the Mulsanne straight when from out of no where another car rammed at full speed in to the back of mine causing me to hit the back of another car which then gave me a penalty. To add to it the force knocked me into the gravel trap! Then, finally after an epic lap I caught up with first place car just before the double chicane before the finish line. I passed him on the first part, then he overtook me by totaly skipping the chicane and straight lining it!! Are the people at PD seriously suggesting that this is a game???

  12. Amac500

I see people are grumpy there wasn’t content with the a-spec seasonal update, cus we always get content with those :P Chill, we’ll get an update by the end of the month, likely this weekend, if that doesn’t happen then be grumpy.

  13. DSUjoeDirte9

As much as it is nice for PD to still care about gt6. Can we please got new offline championships and maybe endurance races? Not even has online to do these

  14. Amac500

That Brands Hatch one is going to be a little bit insane at 700pp, think I’ll go with a Group C cars for a little authentisity though.

    1. Terronium-12

That isn’t supposed to be Brands Hatch, it’s supposed to be La Sarthe.

Stupid edits not going through. :p

    2. Amac500

That’ll be especially hairy with hards too. At least its the AI though, with actually human competition this would be a mess.
