About 1 month after the SPA race track was available for DLC. It faded quickly. For it to be loved by so many racers yet when I go online in the lobby no one ever uses SPA to race, free run, drift etc. I rarely see anyone using that track. I personally love the track and would like to use it more. Yet no one joins my room if i create one nor is anyone creating a room for SPA…

My question is WHY? It is a very competitive nice track. Alot of view and great for testing a car and racing. The fact no one really uses it bothers me. Any one else thinking similar. I hope its on GT6 still though…

Umm, why is the 458 Italia pictured for this seasonal event which requires race cars? The 458 is not a race car and unfortunately it cannot be RM’d either. That’s some DLC I’d be willing to pay for:
    RM Ferrari 458 Italia
    RM Ferrari 430 Scuderia
    RM McLaren MP4-12C
    RM Toyota 86 GT/Subaru BR-Z/Scion FR-S
    etc.

Looks like there’s a possibility for these in GT6 – personally i feel this i what GT5 seriously missed out on including – WTCC and a better range of GT3 and Endurance series cars.. As well as DTM (half hearted) ..I just hope they don’t stop at the R8, Z4 and GT-R cars…looking very promising though. Nice they had such a massive collection of GT500 in GT5 but even as a motorsports enthusiast I can honestly say I’ve no idea about that series at all. Japanese developers so it doesn’t surprise me too much they have more bias towards that.

I don’t like it when people call the tracks “maps.” I understand it is common in other types of games. Guess I am a purist. I almost exclusively play GT5 above any other game.

Anyway, I didn’t mean to rain on your parade.

Question: If PD releases new tracks as often as they say they will for GT6, will you buy them? It seems like they are planning a large amount of downloadable content. Do you plan to get it? And how will you feel if you don’t? Do you feel jipped by the prospect of an even larger percentage of DLC in the upcoming game?

Personally, as much as I play (a few hours at least, almost every day), I don’t mind encouraging the production of new content by paying for it.

    2. Quakebass

“Map” is a general term for a 3-D landscape, games included. So yes, it’s a track, but it’s also a map.

    3. ScotteDawg

Sorry, I feel the same as fordskydog on this matter! IMO, a map is a 2-D “image” not a 3-D landscape!!

I play GT5 every night for a couple of hours and have done daily since it was released. The only time I took off was the last 5 days coz I was in hospital.

I get together with a group and play Cat & Mouse and we are constantly changing the track throughout the course of the 4 hours we race together. If someone doesn’t have a DLC track, the rest of us miss out on using it! THAT is not fair on those of us that have purchased the track! It is strongly suggested that everyone who enters the room has ALL the DLC!

Another way of looking at it is, if you don’t have the DLC, you don’t have the full game…

    4. FlameWater

Good point why did I call it a map LOL I play too many games. I also bought DLC but not all because I can play Spa
in Grid and I don’t feel like paying money for a MAP!!! THERE I SAID IT MAP MAP MAP MAP MAP MAP MUAHAAH

    5. Mackenberg

Doesn’t surprise me people say map… It’s supposed to be a simulator, yet it’s called a game.. it’s foundation is arcade.. Yet it’s supposed to be “real” 3, 2, 1 START…because that’s how they start a race in real life.. Still happen to love it, no matter it’s confusing structure

  3. Gogga

2WD is rather misleading. It could mean FF, MR, RR Or FR drive train because they all are two wheel drivetrains.

  4. Carlos Fandango

You know, I’m impressed that GT6 is coming out in a little over three months and yet PD are still throwing seasonal time trials at us…

    1. iSpotCars

It’s to keep us occupied until GT6. Its the best they can do as they arent really focusing on GT5 anymore

  5. Rafael F

    My favoutire tracks:
    1º Nurburgring
    2º Spa
    3º Susuka
    4º Fuji
    5º Circuit de la sarthe
    6º Laguna Seca.
Too bad Infineon Raceway is not on GT5, it would be at 3rd place :/

    1. Pit Crew

Uhhh…Circuit De la Sarthe is Lemans, unless your talking about the Order in which Rafael placed them.

In any case I don’t see the point in criticising his personal choices.

@ Rafael LOL Your list is almost like mine, except for Fuji.

You havent’ lived until you have raced for 24hrs in an online lobby at Nurburgring. lol. In fact 3 of your Six choices my league runs BES type races their for Childrens Charities, at 1 dollar a lap per participant.

Its for the kids lol .

    1. Heathenpride

This is true, I took my 787B Stealth out for a run, such a nice drive with a good tune :) Still got a lot of time to use too, tempted to spend all day on it tomorrow!

    2. Pit Crew

Naw it shouldn’t be banned. Just because it’s a TT fave amongst the masses doesnt mean it should be banned.

The gold time is quite easy to achieve in many race cars in this game on that course. Should just focus on that.

    3. SavageEvil

The car was banned in real life due to unfair advantage of vacuum grip…it still has this advantage as it corners like it’s on rails at near F1 like speeds. That car should either be re-evaluated in PP or just banned from time trials since it has abilities that the other car do not have at all nor can compete with. They banned the FGT, ferrari F1’s and Redbull which sport the same vacuum suction as the 2J…allowing the 2J make no sense.

    4. Pit Crew

Yeah in Real Life. GT5 isn’t real life, and it truly is not the end of the world. 1,000,000 plus serious issues that effect individuals everyday, but using the 2J 70, in a Video Game shouldn’t be one of them…

  6. Boosted_01_R

sweet, I was expecting the Spa event to be using the Ferrari F1 car, considering its a Spa F1 weekend…. but this will do :)
