The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 5, featuring high power American sports cars. Five expert level challenges touring such locations as Daytona Road Course and Grand Valley Speedway await, and the rewards are just as high as they’ve come to be in these challenges.
Cars are limited to a maximum of 580PP and Sports/Hard tires or less. The challenges are as follows:

I managed Gold in all 5 using the # 4 GT 40 LM. Toscana was a hoot with three cars spinning out in the second lap then two more on lap 3. Even with SRF on, it was a fun seasonal.
For me, the Chaparral 2J worked best. Won every race :)
I know and the last race was entertaining driving in the dark without headlights :D
Used the Viper lineup first. All tuned to 580. Except the ACR, which is already at 579. In order of their model years. The ’03 is always peed because I only use it against the Shelby SC. Next up are the Vettes. The S7 can’t wait for its turn. This will be fun.

The use of time change on the Toscana track is phemonenal. I saw light hit a yellow GT in front of me the likes of which I’ve never seen before, a completely new dynamic. GT6 is gonna be through the roof.
I got first place on all of them with the Viper GTS-R Concept. :)

Is it just me or is the effect of the SRF becoming less and less prevalent with each seasonal? In the earliest Challenges with SRF forced on ( the first time I’d ever experienced it ), it would almost drag my car to a halt when engaged. In my Ford GT ’02 I barely notice its’ effects. The Ford GT ’02 is the best one in my opinion, by the way. There’s a reason for its’ heightened value and lack of tradeability…
BB you aint never lied bro. I got 3 02 GTs but hate using them because they’re special. I got a League race saturday, Ford vs Chevy and was gonna use an 02, but decided to go with the No stripe. I could be wrong but the GTs are quite torque happy. That combined with Sport Hard tires is maybe the reason SRF doesn’t feel as prevalent as in other seasonals. :tup.
I think you hit it on the head my friend. I realized that I break traction far less with the Sports Hards, and even though I run the Ford GT ’02 in purely stock form, it hooks up like a boss when you get it straightened out. It’s got a great diff and a good gearset.
Gt5 has really lost my interest. The seasonals are sooo maddening and ridiculous that I don’t even want to atempt them anymore. Its no fun because you get no choice in your car. Its either use the most over powered car there is and get the win or you use your favorite car and come 7 seconds behind. These races are nearly as bad as B-Spec races. Plus multiplayer is filled with the biggest tryhards youve ever seen. They can befriendly but its no fun when they spend 50+ hours perfectly tuning an overpowered car. Theres no place for the average racer.
The most annoying try-hards I see is the person that won is using the same car over and over again.#gay
I use my s7 which has 646 hp.In the last race I got pass the ford gt on the last corner.
Should have called it use the Ford GT or lose series. So much for using any other car maybe besides at the custom track.
I agree to an extent. I can win with a mostly stock ’09 Vett but I would prefer some other options. Ideally I would like to be able to win these with a pure stock car; no mods, not even a racing tranny.
In the last race, if you get a Ford GT in first place at start, dont even try it, he got a 14 sec lead and I got him in the last corner in the last lap but got 2nd >:-l
How did you get him and still come in second?
Tried the Grand Valley one with a 570 PP ACR Viper. It’s quite hard. The Ford GT in 1st position is hard to catch.
These seasonal events are very easy to win with the Chaparral 2J. Even too easy.

Fish using Dynamite
Win a knife fight with a gun
Beat up 6 year olds
Pass an open book test
The Chaparral 2D is the closest thing to a cheat code that GT has.

Man I’m going to get a ps3 and GT5 asoon as possible, I played gran turismo, 2, 3 and 4. Gave away my ps2 along with gt3 and gt4, I wish I didn’t. I will be back to take GT Academy, i know I can go head to head with these guys who say/think they are fast. I have been watch alot of the videos on you tube and I know I run with them.
Wait for GT6, it will be slightly more finished game.
Yeah, my advice is to wait for GT6. It’s around the corner. GT5 is great, but it has its negatives. Plus, you’ll have to spend on DLC and what not. I want to think all that content will be available in GT6 from day one. Plus, you’ll get more cars, tracks, better physics and a “more complete” experience as far as we have seen in the news.
GT is one of those games that one the newer version comes out, the last one gets obsolete. Just wait a couple of months. It’ll be worth it.
Not sure why people are telling you to wait for GT6 when it doesn’t come out until December. If you think you can compete, do it now. “knowing” doesn’t compare to “doing”

Yes I noticed that after watching the Ferrari Challenge a few months ago.
It is the moto GP variation of the bus stop, not the 24 hr variation that rolex does. And yes the old track of course before they repaved it.

Why is everyone so surprised that Stars and Stripes is this week’s seasonal and that SRF is force on? Pay attention people. They have been recycling the seasonals for about six months. The old Stars and Stripes was up until yesterday with SRF as an option.
News flash, the seasonal to be posted on July 3rd is likely to be Dream Car Championships… with SRF forced on. If you like the no SRF version, you can still play it until July 3rd.

But, I do like the look of this event. I’ve always enjoyed stars and stripes events and the pp limit for this one is gonna make the races pretty fun.

Well GTAndy you get troll of the Century award for that remark, especially since SRF has been on for every seasonal dating back to December 2012. Interesting enough you don’t find to many americans that call other nationalities names when it’s an event or car or track from another country, but soon as a USA event car or track seasonal comes up we get lambasted.
You should try and drive a Viper or a Corvette one of these days if you think you’re a real car guy. They kill a couple of European super cars that cost twice as much, with nothing but a good old clutch pedal, a proper manual transmission and without all that traction control and nonsense.

Good week for an A-spec LeMans mini-endurance seasonal (like 10-20 laps), but good ol’ Polyphony. I’ll skip these seasonals as well.

Event “IF” PD were to do a le Mans race, it wouldn’t have any continuity. Frustrating to me and confusing the uninitiated.
First, they have yet to get a full field (outside of the arcade) of sixteen cars,
Second, their “LM” class is made up of 3 distinct classes…
’88-92 900+ hp prototypes (pre and post chicane era I count as 2),
’99-05 600hp, 900kg prototypes… note to PD, the ’97 R390 WAS NOT a prototype car,
’06-10 almost modern prototypes,
*** ’97-98 GT1, ’99-03 GTS/LM “Limited Edition” and PD’s own RM “Race Model” and TC “Touring Car?” classes have gone completely ignored. I had thought PD would have at least addressed these classes their seasonal events.
I wonder if PD ever strikes gold while picking, errr, thumbing their noses at those of us who know the difference.
Agree Progress. Im so glad my online league does these 24HR events for us hardcore members. My league administrator actually set ours up to the degree that every lap we complete, donations are made to childrens charities. Our Lemans 24HR event is delayed till next weekend, because our regular race season is still underway (Double Header Saturday) but it would have been Epic if PD had chosen to commemorate this weekends Real life 24HR event with a proper special event challenge.
Oh yeah my car of choice for our league 24HR is the Bentley Speed8 Race car. Its all around balance is deadly amazing IMO.
I was expecting a 24h du Mans themed Seasonal this week seeing as though it is Le Mans week. However, a new event is a new event so it could always be worse.

So GT5 has a massive range of Le Mans cars, the Le Mans track, weather change and day/night changing, so naturally on Le Mans weekend, the biggest race on the racing calender, we get Stars and Stripes seasonals. Really? I thought we could have something like a 1 hour mini endurance or something cool like that, but no, apparently not.
Anyways, off topic but I have a question. Next week I plan to do the B spec De La Sarthe 24 hour endurance, and I’ll be on 200% win bonus by the time I start, but my question is this: I’m going to do it over the space of 3 days, but what happens to my % increase on winnings after 3 days. Does it stay at 200% as that’s what it was when the race started and I last ‘logged in’, or will it drop to 170% or whatever because will I’ve been doing the race I’ve not ‘logged in’?

You will get 200% credit and xp. For that race. But when you get back go the home screen after 3 days. Your log in bonus will have dropped to 150% or 130%.

Am I stating the obvious or have they been recycling the old seasonals? I noticed the past few were from the last batch before the A-spec and B-spec seasonals. Before this the oldest one was Stars and Stripes. I predict after next weeks time/drift trails will be Dream Car Championship then maybe Gran Turismo Allstars to say fair well, see you on GT6.

Let me explain why not:- I took an SRT8 TC into the race!!! Why, when the ability to not include certain types of cars has been used on other races, can we take a race car into a super car race? Ridiculous!
What I would like to see is, if the race is open for race cars AND super cars and I take in a race car, a change in the AI field of competitors!

It’s hard not to know what a Viper is. The Viper is such a unique car; a classic by its own right. It’s like the VW Beetle. You know what it is when you see it. (Up until the new one)
The AI doesn’t seem to be very competitive in this one. Easily won in a 555pp Ford GT, so I would think the C7 could manage with good laps. Yay free 2D!! :) I’ve been waiting for one of these

If you give it oil change, it’ll be around 529PP. I have two but strangely enough, my red C7 Stingray is 530PP while the other is 529PP. lol :)

I was waiting for these seasonal events. I was getting bored of the old stars and stripes. The track selection is pretty awesome as well. Not too often we see High Speed Ring reverse. I see major speed coming.
Hopefully the rabbit won’t be the car I imagine. The Ford GT. My Vipers won’t stand a chance.
