GT Academy Middle East

With the conclusion of the 2014 European GT Academy Race Camp, a new group of competitors arrived at Silverstone from nearly every corner of the globe for the international region of the competition, which includes Australia, India, Mexico, Middle East and Thailand.

Nissan and Sony is bringing GT Academy back to the Middle East after its successful maiden run last year. Inaugural winner Salman Al-Khater from Qatar placed first in class at the Britcar 1000km and Nissan is looking to repeat the accomplishment with a new Nismo Athlete for 2014.

GT Academy expanded to the Middle East late last year, with a special round of the competition that started last December.

Though women have always been eligible for the competitions, Faiza”s performance in the qualifier event for the Middle East Academy was the first time a woman has set a qualifying time good enough to be invited to a regional final.

GT Academy officially kicks off today for players in its two newest territories, South Africa and the Middle East.
