So, any chance we can play this car in the game? Would be awesome, even if it comes as the Ferraris F1 (pratically unplayable…)

  2. GTP_Davey07-O37

Big congratulations to Lucas and the other drivers, and the Signatech team for finishing 2nd in class, and 9th overall. I was at work checking on my phone, and holding my breath, you’d get the car home. Really pleased for you all…;-)))…

  3. Huga

Congratulation to Soheil Ayari, Franck Mailleux and Lucas Ordonez for Finishing 2nd in LMP2 class…

    GT5 makes real racers!

    1. Dog

      “GT5 makes real racers!”

Yah, couldn’t have possibly have been the hours and hours of real world training and practice that did it.

  4. Madman2k10+1

Lucky mcnish wasnt injured because that car was doing at least 120 into the wall. If the roof hit the wall 1st then his head would have snapped off

  5. Nicky_loves_GT5

Peugeot took second….:( wanted to first..but better luck next year…one of topic question…the 24 of Nurbugring are on??…month…xD

  6. Denz

I’m so tired and simply disappointed; not with the race or it’s breathtaking action, but the fact that Peugeot came up short once again. :*(

  7. Brian

Congratulations to the Signatech Nissan team!
Lucas got mentioned multiple times on Eurosport.

Great achievement for a 3+- year career being as fast as the pros!

  8. Aaron ray

The Peugeots haven’t changed much since they started running the 908 lmp1 car. The biggest difference I saw was the “fin” behind the cockpit.

  9. Moontallico

    Awesome Race!
Congrants to the Audi, Peugeot, Sigmatec, and Vette teams!
Now looking foward to the Nurburgring 24H

  10. A_Higher_Place

I think the R18 will make it in to a GT game. Whether its 5 or 6 but because of this years showing and history in the making

  11. Gtone339

    1st – Audi Sport Team
    2nd – Team Peugeot Total
    3rd – Peugeot Sport

    Congratulations to all teams!!

  12. Aaron ray

They need to now put the car in dlc AND the next GT game, seriously. They follow the pescarolo team for putting playstation logos on, why not have the GT academy winner’s car, which took 2nd in it’s class

  13. Erik

Congratulations Audi! An epic race, Peugeot only 13 seconds behind. Now I’m gonna put together an Audi inspired racing outfit to celebrate the winners ^^

  14. A_Higher_Place

    Lucas
From pole to last, back up to second. You and your team have done an absolutely amazing job! Congrats!

As for P1 WOOOO AUDI!!! :D

As for GT, better luck another year BMW!!

  15. Dj smurph

Way to Lucas second in class and in the top10 overall. Just like seeing the gtplanet.net logo on the helmet from the onboard shots

  16. GTZocker

Awesome race so far :) best 24 hours I have seen (haven’t seen much. For me the 24 hours of le mans/Nürburgring are the only interesting races.

  17. Super_Colossal

3 hours to go and the #26 Nissan has to limp aaaaalllllllll the way around the track on another bad tire.

    1. Brian

Ah so I didn’t mistake it with another.
Bad luck for a good position.
2 Lap margin between the car behind.

  18. Super_Colossal

All of the teams I’m rooting for are in 2nd! It’s too bad about the #74 Corvette. Hopefully #73 can come up and say something about it. Ayari and Mailleux are keeping the Nissan at a good pace for Lucas. Go Peugeot!

Can’t believe how well the team is doing since I started watching. They were 10th or 11th in the class due to mechanicals and now they are running 4th in LMP2.

    1. GOTMAXPOWER

I don’t think the Ferrari’s are to blame really, McNish tried passing two cars at once and the Ferrari would’ve only seen the first Audi not the one passing him at the same time, the second crash was definitely Kauffman turning infront of Rockenfeller but could he see him there with such bright HID lights on the Audi?

    2. wavetool

Yeah, the Audi’s were at fault in both crashes, but still…

I’m pulling for the remaining Audi to take it all!

    3. N99GT

hmmmm the 1st crash yes Audi was to blame, but the 2nd wasn’t and Rockenfella did flash his headlights a number of times BEFORE he went to overtake, and then the Ferrari turned into him…!

but yerh just gone half distance and number 26, 13th overall but 4th in the LMP2 class!

    4. wavetool

The rule states that the slower cars stick to the racing line. It is up to the faster cars to pass around the racing line. This allows some level of predictability on what the slower car will be doing. The Ferrari stuck to the racing line and the Audi ran into him. The Audi driver mis-judge the amount of track he had left to pass on the inside.

    5. GOTMAXPOWER

@N99GT but could he see him coming? from the headon camera you could only see the Audi lights they’re so bright, drivers have been saying they could see the lights from a mile away on the Mulsanne

    6. N99GT

@GOTMAXPOWER true…he didnt do the mirror, signal, maneuver like my driving instructor thought me!!! lol but then again theres only 30mins to go and Audi are still leading! Wooop!!

    7. A_Higher_Place

I feel Mcnish (THe first Audi) was at fault. But at the same time Ferrari just didn’t see him. SO on that case its just “These things happen”

The second case i felt the Audi gave enough warning ahead and the Ferrari was wrong to take that line.

  21. wavetool

Team RML in the same class has Ben Collins as a driver. How cool would it be if Lucas beat the Stig!

  22. From gamer to racer

Guess Turn 10 couldn’t have a contest like GT Academy. Unless their was a car painting challenge, & the ability to yell “FAGGOT NIGGER” at each other while you raced real cars(cuz in-game-chat is sooo important).

  23. timwap

About the crash I’m very happy nobody seems to get hurt by that, but I just want to say McNish is completely maf, he approached the turn trying to pass 2 cars at the same time, unbelievable, nosense move completely, the GT driver of course didn’t see him in time, and that’s what happen’d.

  24. pigboy

cosmetic damage, shoulda turned damage OFF,ferrari drivin like AI.ggrrr@delayed australian crap(i wont call it coverage

    )

  25. Fido_le_muet

Well, very bad start for the Signatech Nissan. Went from pole to 10th place in the first hour. Mechanical problems I believe :(

    1. Super_Colossal

I guess a left-rear tire falling off counts as mechanical. I’m surprised it didn’t fall further back.

  26. AyJay

Oh wow, class pole? Very nice work!

Also, is that photo taken in GT5 or in real life? I can’t pick it! :\

  27. pigboy

Surely if Ordonez Drives like you can in GT5 he can just ram the other cars, bounce off,and continue on.he might even start straight lining chicanes.a “cannot connect to network” on his steering wheel “.and the P for PIT button might be mistaken for PAUSE.if he spins he will probably expect to be rammed from every car that passes.

    1. Erik

If you drive like you can in GT5 you can’t win GT Academy, so I think he knows what he’s doing :P

  28. Thesrdic

Best of luck to lucas and the rest of the team, have a good race! Hopefully pescarolo and aston have a good race too :)

  29. occasionalracer

I’ll be tuned in, but switching over to the Canadian GP during Qualifying and the Race tomorrow. Go team SignaTech Nissan!

  30. pigboy

Pathetic coverage in australia. Was great last year.
LSHunter also have a few links to most motorsport.Good story on official website titled “The Mazda 787B returns to Le Mans”im going to read it now, just found it.i see the MATMUT Peugeot is last years, the same that is in gran turismo 5(just bought it myself to complete modern lm cars) from the photo’s ive seen.what a race it will be.Go mikey WALTRIP,slowest F458 but he’s a great bloke

    1. From gamer to racer

Was wondering. Considering what they do to your games, if theirs a bad wreck, do the Australian authorities edit that out of the race you’re watching?

  31. BWX

fastlanedaily – check out their 25 hour streaming coverage with audience participation via twitter/ustream. Sounds pretty cool.

  32. Darren200cook

I am a HARDCORE GT5/ Sim racer. I’ll look at it when i’ve time but i’m busy on GTP Forums and GT5.

    1. Ezekiel76

I’ve never watched Le Mans before but when they show the view from the drivers seat, I know all the turns! I know Gran Tourismo has some awesome graphics but it’s very cool to see it on t.v. and know everything that is coming up. Great work PD!
