As foretold in a teaser earlier this month, Audi’s R8 V10 Plus is now available in Assetto Corsa courtesy of the latest 1.3.5 update.

Weighing in at a little over 330MB, the update not only introduces the R8 V10 Plus to the game, at no additional cost at that, but it remedies a few issues on the multiplayer front as well as improved multi-threaded physics. The full list of everything new and improved in 1.3.5 is as follows:

– New Audi R8 V10 Plus bonus car
– Fixed Nissan GT-R Nismo fuel gauge
– Fixed Mercedes SLS GT3 default tyre texture
– Fixed Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Hard tyres name, causing issue on MP tyre compound restriction
– acServer: fixed issue with timing who caused session skipping
– ksEditor: Added fuel and brakes script tools
– Corrected Alfa Romeo 4c alignment and setup values
– Eliminated wrong tags from Ford GT40
– Works on the tyre heating model continues with new surface rolling heat generation on some cars
– Performance optimization on car multithread physics

This new Audi is a fantastic car. Absolutely brilliant in fact. One of the better cars I’ve ever driven in a sim.

I agree. The car is absolutely perfectly balanced. It’s easy to drive, but at the same time it will bite you as you get near the limit if you aren’t on your toes. It just feels so powerful and alive.

I had to put a few laps in with the BMW M235i Racing to see if tire temps were “fixed” and they were not. Still running too cold. However, the new Audi obviously has the tire temps running under a different system because in 2 laps at Spa I had no trouble with some smooth but hard driving, maintaining temps in the 80’s on all 4 tires. That’s the first road car I’ve been able to do that with in weeks. This is very good news for those of us that watch the temps on street cars/tires.
