1962 Nurburgring 1000km #84 - Jim Clark

1962 Nurburgring 1000km #84 - Jim Clark 1.0

A simple little car, a simple little livery, for Legion's lovely Lotus 23.
With an aproximation of Jimmeh's helmet and overalls on the day.

"The racing debut of the 23B was at the Nordschleife in May 1962. In the rain, the tiny 100 bhp Lotus 23, with the Cosworth Mk.X 1.5 liter engine (the experimental Lotus TwinCam), shot away from the field, with Jim Clark at the wheel.

Even though some cars had four times the power of the Lotus, Clark was 27 seconds ahead of Dan Gurney's Porsche after the first lap. Extending his lead on each lap until the track dried, Clark was overcome by exhaust fumes from a damaged exhaust manifold, and crashed out on lap 11."
