This is a fast and fairly wide circuit with a smooth flow. The track is mostly flat, with small elevation changes.

The track was inspired by and named after Ray and Charles Eames' "Case Study House no. 8" (1949), where they used pre-fabricated parts to assemble a modernist home. In the same spirit, this track uses pre-determined components, such as:
  • 66 meter radius corners
  • 67.5 and 112.5 degree corners*
  • 22.5 degree kinks*
  • 100 and 200 meter straights
Using pre-determined parts may sound like a limitation, but it's actually a good way to create a framework for your creativity to build from and it's a method that I can recommend everyone to try.

* How do I know the angle of the corners? Well, I first make a semi-circle (180 degrees) and then I split it in halves, quarters and eighths:

22.5 degrees = 1/8 of a semi-circle
67.5 degrees = 1/4 of a semi-circle plus 1/8 of a semi-circle
112.5degrees = 1/2 of a semi-circle plus 1/8 of a semi-circle

Nice concept, Much more of a range of corners than you may expect from the concept, parts reminded me of the old Clermont-Ferrand. Nice flow and easy to learn.
