Zandvoort 1980 2015-10-14

The Zandvoort layout I remember most from watching F1 as a lad, correct 10m width, correct Tarzan profile (turn1), then the next three turns are compromised due to limitations of the editor, can't get the track as close to the back of the pits as in reality. Out of second harpin layout is correct, you'll know the track up to Shievlak, the big right hander, but 1980-1989 the circuit then went left and out for a fast blast through the dunes. That part of the circuit is now under a holiday house estate and a golf course, but arguably the current layout is more interesting, certainly for overtaking, than this older, faster layout. No diagrams or trace exist to get a 100% accurate layout but this feels right and goes well with onboard films. Try it in the Lotus 98T then watch the onboard laps you can find on YT to see the altitude changes. Good circuit, the AI is rubbish at it...
