    Repeatedly fooled: The Open-top convertibles

I believe it's programmable to save resource real time considering different level of details need to be revealed or not. And it's reasonable to do so.

    Repeatedly fooled: The Open-top convertibles

I think it's just for saving resource by avoiding all those details. If 16 cars in a race are all roofless and comes with all the details on the dashboards, steering wheels and gear levers etc. (and their motions!), I guess the frame rate issue would be so severe that it'd be far from...

"Ring Taxi" - Tire selection research

It's difficult to determine how hard the taxi driver is driving. So the comparison will never be apple to apple. And, although the graphic is good on GT6, I believe it's still far from the real experience. When we feel calm and easy through the console and screen, it could be very scary in a...

    A-spec Race Challenges #5: 07/08/2014 - 21/08/2014

Wow, how did it happen? Can you take a photo from the replay for the moment two cars at the finish line? Maybe the trophy is obtained by the extended tongue, like McGueen?

I suppose you're referring to the Clio, right? Edit: I mean the post #817.

    A-spec Race Challenges #5: 07/08/2014 - 21/08/2014

If AI comes close in the middle of last straight, let it pass. And catch the draft right away, then you'll get the advantage at the right moment. Be cool in the last several corners, though. Don't late brake, stay in the racing line and it's mostly fine. ;)

    A-spec Race Challenges #5: 07/08/2014 - 21/08/2014

In slower corners, I would probably take the outside line. With the AI's in the normal (inside) line, there's pretty much just enough tarmac for me to squeeze through. It'd be a fast and clean overtaking in such case because I'm still on tarmac. In faster bends, I would mostly take the inside...

    A-spec Race Challenges #5: 07/08/2014 - 21/08/2014

No luck in Corvette C6 LM:( It's driving fine, but I just can't beat the leading McLaren F1 GTR. It's always 5 or 6 sec. ahead. Again, no luck in Chaparrel 2D:( This car has tremendous mechanical grip, but I can't find the sweet spot of the suspension setting. I keep tuning it softer and softer...

    A-spec Race Challenges #5: 07/08/2014 - 21/08/2014

I wish the Nurburgring event could be a 'sticky' (not gone), and extended to 2 or 3-lap. 600pp seems the sweet spot for this track. Won it by TS030, Furai, and HSV-010 GT. Except did it in the 2nd run on HSV, others took me quite a few attempts to win. Lap times were all 6:40 or so when I won...

Nissan CONCEPT 2020 VGT Super Lap: Tokyo R246

Well, YMMV as always. I guess the handling feel is about personal preference. Later I took both VGT of Nissan and Aston Martin to S class Ascari 10-lap. I ran them both with SH tire. My impressions to them remain the same. If there's no major mistake, their lap times are similar. Still, AM...

Shocking news! PP starting to work?

Has anyone mentioned the significance of tracks? Seems not much. I think the characters of tracks play a key role. The combinations of straights and bends determine how you use the power and cornering ability. Since cars with different power/weight/other conditions can yield a same pp, the...

Nissan CONCEPT 2020 VGT Super Lap: Tokyo R246

I took this car to the current seasonal event of 600pp at Nurb_south (GP). Well, it was an easy win under the setting of that event, but this car drives very badly for a big 4WD I'm afraid. So unstable under braking, especially in slower corners. Such response is almost like a light weight...

A-spec Expert Level Race Car Challenge: Circuit de la Sarthe 2009

Understood the problem of my previous stiff setup, I re-adjusted the ride height/spring rate/damper (to higher/softer) of a few cars and tried them again. One of them is R92CP. I tuned it in the same principle (for 787B) I mentioned in post #162. It's wonderful. Fast, thrashable, yet very...

Lotus 97T Super Lap - Circuit de Spa Francorchamps

Maybe it's about personal preference. I'm not a fan of large rear toe-in. In fact I use a little rear toe-out on this car. (-6 to -8) Rear toe-in is mainly for maintaining stability of the tail under deceleration. For this, I prefer using LSD (larger initial torque and the decelerating...

Lotus 97T Super Lap - Circuit de Spa Francorchamps

This event is difficult in the car itself. The power band / throttle response is just too peaky, painful through the slower corners. No good in pushing hard in the first 2 gears, better be gentle, even when it's in the lag. And lower LSD helps in those slower corners, too, makes it more nimble...

A-spec Expert Level Race Car Challenge: Circuit de la Sarthe 2009

LOL, guess what, I did the same thing with 787B last night. Approaching the pit lane entrance, I saw it there just ahead of me. I thought 'what the heck, just go'. I braked just a little to avoid the tire wall, cut through the 2 chicanes and overtook. Of course, I got penalty and lost...

    Understanding The Deltawing

Like quite a few other cars in the game, the so-called 'stock form' is wrong because thier real stock form in real life is not like that. So, please don't bash the cars themselves for the mistakes or carelessness by PD.

A-spec Expert Level Race Car Challenge: Circuit de la Sarthe 2009

I tried 787B in stock last night, well, almost. I tuned it slightly based on stock. I lowered the front ride height to 75, lowered the compression damper a tick and much reduced the camber. Brake bias: 5/4. Extended the gear box to higher speed. Slightly increased the DF. Much reduced the LSD...
