    GTPlanet logo

Unless the series is officially associated with GTP in the same way as the WRS is you'll be asked to remove the GTP logo from the animation/banner anyways. Save yourself a little effort and come up with a different idea. :)

    McLaren MP4-26 Launch

I seem to be the only one that thinks it looks hideous... I don't doubt that some brilliant engineering went into developing this peculiar shape they're displaying, and I'm sure that it will be a title contender. But on pure aesthetics I give it a 👎

So, who's got all 60 Golds in their licence tests yet?

I finally got gold on IC-10... that puts my total at 60 :D Way easier than previous GT's as has been stated. I usually struggle for weeks doing this, not just two days.

The Boxing Day Thread - 2011

I'm staying home. There's no big ticket items on my list that I want to go hunting for this year. Besides that, I simply hate the crowds and traffic and line-ups - it's worse than Christmas shopping. In the past I've had pretty good success in stores where the sales people are on commission at...

hehe, I was playing a bit of devil's advocate. But yes, you make a good point.

    A car in the moon...

Radiators work perfectly fine when there's no air. :sly: ...Oh, but convectors don't. edit: Yup. I actually posed the question at lunch of how you would get a car safely to the moon to a few of my coworkers today. (to those that don't know, I design and build satellites so I'm talking...

    A car in the moon...

This thread is excellent. :D I think you are missing the scale of this problem. Let's ignore all the other reasons that this engine may not work correctly and just think about the thermal problem. Let's aim to keep the engine at a temperature which, on the compression stroke, just...

    A car in the moon...

I'm certain you could fit it in an Ariane5, or Proton, even Falcon 9, or any of the other competing heavy lifters for big satellites. This is roughly car sized. The trouble is that all of these LV's will only get you to LEO. You would need something equivalent to a Saturn V, as stated. ...and...

    A car in the moon...

To answer the original post: The car would hit a much higher velocity on the way to the moon than it ever would on the moon. :dopey: There, done. The rest is all an exercise in futility. I think it's great though.  Lets say you have spent a few years and a few hundred million...

Spanish woman claims ownership of the Sun

When music leaves a musician, does it no longer belong to the musician? I agree this is ridiculous, but at least it provides me with an individual to blame for the problems I battle with at work rather than just a form of energy...

    2014 engines: inline-fours out, turbo-charged V6 engines in

Music Poll : GTP Music Wall - Iron Maiden

I'll give you No Prayer for the Dying, but Fear of the Dark is an awesome album. Fear of the Dark, Be Quick of Be Dead, Childhood's End, Afraid to Shoot Strangers... maybe I should give X and XI another listen, but from recollection these songs are at least the equal of anything on them, and...

Music Poll : GTP Music Wall - Iron Maiden

Best metal band... ever. I idolize these guys. So many iconic songs on their albums through the 80's and early 90's, and their 4 latest albums since the return of Bruce and Adrian are pretty good too ;) Skip the Blaze Bayley era though... Songs like Wickerman or the Reincarnation of...

    Overtaking in F1

I'm not convinced that skirts and aerodynamic undertrays are the full solution. They might help by reducing the impact of running into a wall of hot highly turbulent air behind another car... but ultimately there will always be some inefficiencies created over the surfaces of the trailing car...

Vettel as good as Senna, says Ascanelli...

Kind of forced to take Ascanelli's word for it since he is much closer to the sport. I began watching F1 in 1995, so I missed Senna's career. Only lately have I started watching old footage from the 80's... (it's interesting to observe how the sport has and hasn't changed. I'm currently part...
