Polyphony Digital Has Been Working on GT Sport's HDR Feature for Three Years

HDR wont be something thats bolted on, they'll have made the decision to go the HDR route 3 years ago and developed and built the rendering pipeline and assets for HDR over that time, also making sure everything is still acceptable on non HDR displays and that, for example, there are the bloom...

Polyphony Digital Has Been Working on GT Sport's HDR Feature for Three Years

I find no inconvenience at all and only ever play GT6 in 3D. Passive glasses dont need charged and have wider viewing angle than active, and they're lighter so i hardly notice them on. Also no flickering from them which is something I'm sensitive to and feel ill under certain lighting.

    GT7 in 4K?

Resolution does not a realistic image make. I'd much prefer to see the extra grunt used for improved lighting and materials in the pixel shaders and with a quarter of the pixels to fill and shade at 1080p that gives 4 times the amount of processing time per pixel, or compared with the...

What wheel will you be using

I may well be clutching at straws here but something occurred to me, if the DFGT was the officially licenced GT wheel which was developed in collaboration with PD, that would be a deal between PD and logitech, could that deal have included use of the drivers in future GT games?

Feel fast when going fast; better sense of speed

The problem with considering your tv as a window in that way is that not only is a tv screen typically smaller than a car windshield and in a car you also use the side windows but also that when gaming in a typical living room environment then you are usually further away from the screen than...

Feel fast when going fast; better sense of speed

I think PD have got it pretty good, unlike the fisheye effect in some games like this: Maybe it's user settable in that though, I dunno, but I don't see the real world like that.

Feel fast when going fast; better sense of speed

You want this? I like the FOV in GT, a lot of other games, i think including forza have this terrible FOV thing going on to give the impression of speed but it does wierd things to the perspective of the whole image and gives the other cars a big fat ass.

Things You Want To See In GT7 Besides Vehicles & Tracks

License plates would be cool but a profanity filter might not be so easy to implement, what's it going to do with this? 51N3P

    What makes good AI?

Flashing light doesn't seem to have any effect in the sierra rally challenge, at least not that i can see. Ive tried at various distances and different types of flashing but not noticed the AI doing anything but the stupid wobbling around the track it always does.

    What makes good AI?

Haha, i didn't realise about using lights and have been having to make my way around the AI wobbling around the middle of the road and all other sorts of stupid things. Thanks, I'm off to see if i can improve my score.

The difference can be seen in these 2 videos just in the first 2 cars passed

    Silverstone Full Lap Config?

The lower layout is the new one but the pit straight is between club and abbey. At least in F1 and in GT6, i think the old pit straight is still used for some things, like some of the F1 support races use the garages there.

    What makes good AI?

I'm pretty sure it's not random, it seems like it's something to do with the time, and the positions cars start in change, the cars are added to the track in front of you as you're driving, they dont all start on the track when you start.

    What makes good AI?

Going back to what some have thought about scripted behaviour because the cars do exactly the same thing each time and I've already said that I think it isn't, but I've been trying out the Sierra rally challenges in GT6 and it seems to depend on how your times are but the cars can appear in...

    What makes good AI?

I'm not sure AI in general gaming terms is quite what you think it is. Sure you could provide it with a realworld drivers racing line to try to follow but it wouldn't follow it exactly (unless you're just replaying positional data which wouldn't be any use for anything other than a ghost and it...

    Powerlimiter/Airrestrictor = realistic?

When they had qualifying engines they could run them with reduced cooling and increased boost, over 1,300hp in quali and down to about 1,000hp in the race. The quali engines and gearboxes only lasted a few laps. In 2006 when they went from 3L V10s down to the 2.4L V8s Torro Rosso were allowed...

    What makes good AI?

Not quite sure what you're asking, look up 'Top Gear Self-Driving BMW 330i' for a car that can follow GPS data to drive around a track though it wouldn't be able to do that and race against other cars. If it was loaded with sensors like googles self driving cars then it could probably be...

    What makes good AI?

Arrgggg you have no idea, ps2 yabasic was one of the most poorly implemented versions of basic I've ever used (sony only put it on as a tax dodge to say the ps2 was a programmable computer instead of a console). It had some nice basic graphics functions but extremely slow and for some reason...

Things You Want To See In GT7 Besides Vehicles & Tracks

To go along with the expected outstanding graphics, I'd like to see a more dynamic environment within the bounds of the circuit. Moving camera booms following cars round hairpins or the cameras moving on the overhead wires, pitboards being lifted in and out over the pit wall, and as well as tyre...
